I love Turkey Vultures. In 2015 a Turkey Vulture laid eggs in my porch roof space. I was able to watch the babies grow each day until they fledged. I had a front row seat and I watched their daily antics from my attic window. I have uploaded a few videos to my You Tube Channel. There is some up close footage of the two babies and their Mom.
Just had two of these beauties in our front yard yesterday afternoon playing clean-up crew to a deceased raccoon. Having had a soft spot for vultures since childhood, it was an honour to experience them, literally, from mere feet away (watched them through the large window). Beautiful, and sadly very underappreciated, birds.
i do love seeing 100 or more of these beauty's circling around! Also, it was almost our national bird but it was concluded we didn't want a scavenger as our nations mascot.
I came home from work to find a flock of about 30 of them all over my house. Some of them were fighting. My guess is breeding season, but driving up to my house I felt like I was living a Stephen King novel lol.
Great video. What a beautiful creature! Came here because I was on a gorgeous hike up Stone Mountain in Georgia today and hung out with a ton of these guys. So much fun to watch them in the wild I just had to know more.
Perfect video! You summed up everything I needed to know about these birds in 5 minutes without pointless graphics and animations and fancy graphics and sound effects, like every other nature channel seems to think is necessary... and you have the animal in question present. A perfect video. Well done, sir!
You explain why the Turkey Vulture is not a buzzard, then end the video with "All hail the Buzzard" :) Good video! I hope you are able to produce more Creature Features
Thanks you for being a champion of my favorite bird! I am fortunate enough to live with them. They picked the two, 2.5 story Live Oak trees flanking my house as their roost. Such a joy to watch them every day.
You made a highly informative video! I love the looks of these vultures and today you managed to make me learn more about them (especially the way they fly), so thank you!
Amazing birds that want nothing to do with humans. I use to help at my dads store and would love to see them hang out by the dumpster waiting on the Chinese food from next door. ❤️
My mother lives on the 5th floor of her condo close to the foothills of the rocky mtn and even thou she lives in the city the city ends within a couple of miles. Every year a flock of Turkey Vulture hang out in a pine tree out side her window for the summer. The numbers vary but it's about 13 every year. They take off in the morning and and grab the heat rising off of the foothills then fly west to a hiway in the desert to see if there is something dead on it. They come back back to the tree about 7 when the sun is still up and kind of play around in the sky until everyone is back then the all head for the tree and that is when the pushing and shoving starts.. The older birds are in charge and they get the best place. My moms place is higher than the city so you can see them coming. They leave about October and fly South for the Winter but come back in May. .One winter their tree got blown down but that didn't bother them at all as their was another pine tree right next to it. The flight feather fall out sometimes and they are at least a foot long.
I love staring up at them while they soar the sky! Just got in from a walk with the dog, watching a pair of them go higher and higher (MA). Came here typing in "Turkey Vulcher". Such an amazing bird
They hang out with Ravens here in northwestern Arizona making a good scavenger team. The ravens hunt and the turkey vultures hang around to clean up❤️❤️
My cubs & I were up this morning & noticed this huge bird land on our neighbor's roof. We live in a town where crows & Blackhawks live. We sat & watched this bird for about 10 minutes when 2 others just like him showed up. They were huge. We grabbed our cameras & started taking pictures. We were told that they were Turkey vultures. I can't wait to show my oldest this video. Thank you!
I just had a pair in my yard went next door old dead tree stump they both went inside it ate something?? Then left it's only the second time I've seen em here...yes I live just outside of Cleveland Ohio in lake county love seeing these magestic birds
Where i live the county puts the road kill out for them and its great to see them every morning soaking up the sun.very unrespected beautiful birds that deserve more respect
I see them more commonly in central Florida. Whenever I walk home from school I see a few to several of them in trees and in grass areas in our neighborhood. I usually get them mistaken as crows but realizing their head are hairless and red. Great video!
A turkey vulture was circling my backyard (about 30ft up in the air) while my dog was sleeping in the backyard. I scared my dog back inside, it was a frightening sight.
They scare the shit out of me, but I respect their part in our ecosystem. I have one ten feet away from me right now because my neighbor has a dead squirrel in their yard.
Their is a bunch of these turkey vultures down the hill from my house in a river surrounded by miles of trees But unfortunately construction has been taking place knocking down their habitat and it makes me really sad because they’re beautiful birds and we are destroying their ecosystem :(... is their anything I can do about this or anyone I can call who specializes in these type of animals so that they can be moved to a better place?? Thank you..
I have a shit load of these huge things hovering around my house... sitting on other roofs and whatnot. Should i worry about my cat being outside around these things?
It almost looks like there had been light mist falling based on the water beading on the wings, is that why the bird has its wings spread, to try and dry them? Or is there another reason?
I'd be curious to know why this particular bird is in captivity. I would have thought that that would have been an obvious thing to mention in the video.
i think they should be made for pet's. It would save wildlife digging in our trash and get hurt from it rotted meat instead of throwing it away just feed it to a turkey vutlure save's wild life from our trash. Won't be a smell of food around for them to get hurt from it. oInly if People can by them in pet store's be the best pet to have living garbage dispencer.
Very underrated birds, people are usually turned away by scavengers. Personally I love Vultures and they are super important to the ecosystem!
I. LOVE. TURKEY VULTURES! They’re very smart and gentle. They’re just very magnetic birds.
Couldn't agree more!
Turkey vultures are really cool birds. I love to watch them soar on the thermals. So cool to watch.

Mr. Harvey Webster, you are a remarkable presenter! Your passion, excitement, and knowledge shine through, and it's infectious.
I love how it went to bite him when he was talking about measuring its wingspan

In Jamaica we call them "John Crows" . Majestic birds.

vinny posing for the camera

Love these beautiful creatures. They do the job nature intended for them and beatify the landscape they maintain.

Glad you enjoyed it!
Where I live, we sometimes see turkey vultures and black vultures. They're lovely birds imo.
Should be our national bird. Large, strong, majestic, but most importantly, it can kill but chooses not to. I think it's a great bird.
You explain why the Turkey Vulture is not a buzzard, then end the video with "All hail the Buzzard" :)
Good video! I hope you are able to produce more Creature Features
It's spooky when a bunch of them circle around your house
Thanks you for being a champion of my favorite bird! I am fortunate enough to live with them. They picked the two, 2.5 story Live Oak trees flanking my house as their roost. Such a joy to watch them every day.
'good one Harvey, I have these things all over my backyard skies - now I know more about them
Thank you! I love how you explain everything, extremely captivating to listen to
Thank you for the video, this was a cool watch. We have so many of these in Pennsykvania
we have tons of vultures here in maryland because people are always hitting deer. they do a good job.
we have vultures here where I live, me and my sister go outside every day to see these majestic birds.
Love the video. These are my favorite birds. I knew about their digestive system but didn't know that about their noses.
You made a highly informative video! I love the looks of these vultures and today you managed to make me learn more about them (especially the way they fly), so thank you!
I saw a family of 3 flying above the Petroglyphs in New Mexico. First time I've seen then in their natural habitat.
Amazing birds that want nothing to do with humans. I use to help at my dads store and would love to see them hang out by the dumpster waiting on the Chinese food from next door. ❤️
I’ve been seeing them in Detroit. It’s super cool to witness!
One of my favorite animals... amazing creatures, I always look at them in awe and envy wishing "if only I could fly like you."

Thanks for all this great information! I love these birds!
What a fascinating bird.
Beautiful creature!
Fascinating and informative! Thank you for a great video, Mr. Webster.

My teacher sent us this video because she had vultures in her backyard :)
I just spotted a pair in my yard n a crow attacked one it was awesome to see they went into a dead tree next door ate something n took off
Clearly they don't only eat dead things!! Vinney was trying to eat this guy's finger the whole video
I hear a red tailed hawk in the background.
I love staring up at them while they soar the sky! Just got in from a walk with the dog, watching a pair of them go higher and higher (MA). Came here typing in "Turkey Vulcher". Such an amazing bird
Never thought i'd sit and watch this whole video. Thanks Harvey!
They hang out with Ravens here in northwestern Arizona making a good scavenger team. The ravens hunt and the turkey vultures hang around to clean up❤️❤️
Saw 4 of these today. Was I scared...indeed I was

I live in North Dakota and i see them all the time
You said it's not a buzzard! But then you hail buzzard at the end of your video??? 🤣

Sometimes we find beauty where we least expect it. Especially in the animal kingdom. X3
Awesome animal! Great explanation, that was a super interesting video.

pretty cute
In June, we get Hundreds, even thousands of Turkey vultures here in Brownsville.
I see them more commonly in central Florida. Whenever I walk home from school I see a few to several of them in trees and in grass areas in our neighborhood. I usually get them mistaken as crows but realizing their head are hairless and red. Great video!
Wow God is so amazing! Complete Genius how did we get so lucky?
in south-west quebec near the saint-laurents river we see a lot of them
Excellent Video
I think he wants to make you an exemption Harvey with him trying to bite you a couple of times in the video. Thanks for the info.
great presentation!
I just saw 10 of them on my morning walk out here in southern California
My favorite bird!
Thanks for the great upload! I learned a lot..
Great and informative video
Glad you liked it!
I love science and how it connects to Intelligent Design.
A turkey vulture was circling my backyard (about 30ft up in the air) while my dog was sleeping in the backyard. I scared my dog back inside, it was a frightening sight.
My 25 pound Muscovy duck would deter the turkey vultures because she too had a featherless red head.
They look like death to me
There were 6 or 7 in my back yard tree today after a hail storm?
a real "bald eagle"!
He is a good commentator!
And I thought it's called the urubu bird with red head.I've studied it,and it's knows to like bad smells, and it can detect smells from kilometers.
They aee awsm!..love vulture😘
They are important
There are a lot of these in my city flying everywhere
I've only seen 2 in the wild over 40 years.
May not be the a hunter, but it's an incredible creature
They scare the shit out of me, but I respect their part in our ecosystem. I have one ten feet away from me right now because my neighbor has a dead squirrel in their yard.

you should know this, turkey vultures are not buzzards, buzzards are raptors.
I have a shit load of these huge things hovering around my house... sitting on other roofs and whatnot. Should i worry about my cat being outside around these things?
Very interesting.
Dutty John Crow!!!!
I see these a lot at the landfill.
Can they get acid reflux I wonder? If they do is it really painful? Or is their upper gi track adapted for that?
Are these the same as buzzards???
We actually saw turkey vulture kill one of my cats. It isn't true that they just eat dead animals. At least that is not true any longer.
Oh gosh - we're so sorry to hear that.
It almost looks like there had been light mist falling based on the water beading on the wings, is that why the bird has its wings spread, to try and dry them? Or is there another reason?
I'd be curious to know why this particular bird is in captivity. I would have thought that that would have been an obvious thing to mention in the video.
Vinny has a right wing injury. If you look closely you can see he does not completely straighten his wing.
They do eat animals that are alive.. they ate two of my cats alive.
I seen those in florida
I had them in my yard just now 4 or 5 of them eating chicken carcus
I had 20 on my property eating a deer yesterday...
Da pra ver que é um animal bem cuidado
That's a cool name, but personally I prefer Hank
Aren't Vultures are endangered and may soon go extinct?
i think they should be made for pet's.
