Thanks a lot Jeff. I hope the views will follow, the more videos I get out there. We've only produced 9 so far, but are upping our game at the moment. We...meaning my wife Ulla and I. She is the one cutting and editing my raw footage. Thanks again :0)
What he said is identical to what I just found on google. Word for word. Either that’s your website or someone’s copying someone (not sure which came first).
Hi. Since I wrote this text, I guess you found that on my website: aquarium.michaeljensens.com/2023/04/20/fundulopanchax-gardneri-your-best-entry-into-killi-breeding/ Cheers, Michael
I water incubate in small plastic jar, and they typically hatch en 10 -14 days. But since the fish spawn in the plants as well, fry also pop up in the tank with the breeders. Cheers, Michael :0)
It would be great to see the hole killi tank set up. I note you have some kind of stream. The peat on the bottom with the leafs and the wiillow moss (stor näckmossa in Swedish) is a great killi scape and I am curiouse about the pump. So, an idea for a movie is "how to set up a peat-moss-leaf-low tech-killi-tank. :) Great channel!
Hi Ricard. The filter I use in these small tanks is a small sponge filter driven by an air pump. I will consider your idea on a how to video. Cheers Michael :0)
Thanks. No... I don't recommend keeping shrimps together with this fish. They will eat shrimp babies, and might even kill the adults. Cheers, Michael :0)
I want to add this killifish to a larger community tank so I'm going to have to figure out what can go with them. There are so many that say that they are a species only fish but just as many that say they do well in a community tank so I guess I have some homework ahead of me!
Hi Wael. In my experience the Gardneri is relatively peaceful towards other similar sized fish. Good water quality, some plant cover and regular feeding with live food makes any fish less agressive - so good rutines on water change might help as well. Small fish fry will be considered food, though. That being said. Some Gardneri fry always seem to survive in my planted Gardneri tanks. Good luck with your fish. Cheers, Michael :0)
Your killifish videos are excellent. I'm looking at adding a pair of these to an unheated, planted tank that has some white clouds in it. How would you manage the lighting?
Thanks Andreas. The Killifish like shaded tanks, so you can just chose the light that your plants need, and the killifish will adapt. I use some really cheap 10 W outdoor floodlights over my tanks, and have great plant growth. Cheers, Michael :0)
@@MichaelJensensAquarium thanks. I went for it and got them. There are a few well shaded areas that the male seems to have laid claim to. He stays there a lot and is constantly mating with the female. My lights are not super bright anyway. I find the female to be the far more agressive and active of the two. Both excellent fish that have fitted in well.
Cool 👍
Thanks :0)
These are the killifish that made me fall in love with them.I now keep 6 different killifish.Just beautiful
I always keep this species. So easy to keep and so beautiful. :0)
Your videos are stunning
Thank you for the kind words, Lisa. Cheers, Michael :0)
