The negative side of having a slammed VW Beetle.

- I'm torn on whether to sell my bug or not. I'll need a new project but don't know what. I also go into a little bit of detail about some of the negative aspects of having a slammed Volkswagen Beetle, such as the rear wheel bearings and turning radius. I talk some about narrowed beams and why they're important.

I currently have a 68 pretty low and gave it to my 16 year old daughter. She loves it. She is the coolest kid at her high school and doesn't even knows
There are 2 kinds of Beetle owners.
1)Those who love their car.
2)Those who regret selling it.
I don't have any regrets so far. Just wish i had a bigger garage so i could start ripping this truck apart.
I'm #2 I should have never sold it.nownim looking for another one
@@carscream1650 Fool.
Saw this car at a local show a couple months ago and man it’s just as gorgeous in person as it in the ur videos
Where was the show? I sold the car last summer. I'm building an f100 now.
@@carscream1650 Traitor.
Keep the beetle, you will be so sad after you watch it go down the raod...it doesn't matter if you're a "beetle fan"...you love that one! Rock on V DUBBIN'
You won't regret that.
It's long gone. Check out the other videos on it. You'll see it drive away. I have no regrets. I'm building a 1969 F100 now and it's gonna be awesome. I have videos on that too.
What shocks are you running to get the beam to lay on the floor?
I have a beam and shocks from Airkewld but I’m a good inch from the floor completely aired out.
No shocks. It's a custom bag set up by a guy from Tennessee. I forget the name.
Dude I just sold mine. I’ve had it since I was 15 and I’m going to be 40 this year. It spent a lot of time in storage and was much like yours. I built it when the cal look was big. Bottom line was I didn’t feel as safe in it as I used to, and wouldn’t put my kids/family in it to go to a car show because of that. Hard decision, but I felt good once it sold and have made room for something better!!
What are you gonna replace it with? I gotta 69 f100 and a coyote motor for it. I'm gonna do pretty much the same thing to the truck as I did to the bug.
@@carscream1650 I’ve finally been able to buy a 1969 Charger I’m building up. Love the trucks too. 60’s c-10 is on my list
1969-79 irs rear suspension, is the best setup for lowered bugs.
66 and earlier are the best looking bugs.
when I do mine I lift all 4 wheels level same to drain oil
What kind of oil for the trans axle?
I can't remember. Search samba.com. since it's lowered and the trans oil feeds the rear wheel bearings, I filled it with the car jacked up and the axle tubes sagging down.
What size tyres you have for the front, what profile?
I dont remember. I have a different video talking about the wheel and tire sizes I had on it. I sold it a couple years ago.
keep it bro
Couple years late.
What size of rims are on the back of your bug
15x8. There's a different video on my channel going over the wheels and tires.
How much is the front beam narrowed?
5"
Keep it
I speak from experience
Keep it
Too late. No regrets.
Definitely
@@carscream1650 👊😲
@@carscream1650 I bet you regret it.
if you get a flat how do you jack it up?
Good question. There are some square tube jack points. I made a part that inserts into those and joggles up so I could get a jack under it. I also made ramps to drive up on because a jack definitely doesn't fit even with good tires. I sold the car years ago though.
Awesome car bro. i hope you never sell it. Have fun with it, go for some adventure rides with this great vw you have✌️
Sold it a while ago. Building a better vehicle. An f100.
@@carscream1650 That is NOT better.
When you say more than it’s worth, be sure to check pricing in your area. Beetle prices have soared over the last two years. If you’d want another VW , know the market before selling this one . If you’d rather a different project, I say take the money and run!
I don't think I sold it for more than it's worth. It's a really cool car, in a really nice market. The fact that I sold for what I asked for in such a short time means it was priced either right, or under value.
@@carscream1650 I bet you regret selling it.
30k - no less. Nice outro by the way! I love a good toot-tune!
I'd take $30k for it in a heart beat.
Car ain’t worth 30k, 22k tops and that would be over paying from what I have seen
That Bug is better than money in the bank, but sometimes you have to thin the herd, for new toys.
Do you have room to keep it, along with a new project? 👍
No. I barely have room for a new project without the bug.
@@carscream1650 How do you feel now?
What’s the wheel size in the rear?
I don't remember. I sold the car. I have another video going over the whole thing. Check it out.
@@carscream1650 Bad move.
10 000 view but no one subscribed, that's ridiculous, bunch of content freeloaders! Great build man!
I have 300 subscribers. Does it really show zero?
Ive got the same problem ,i got a guy buggin for 13,000$ but ive had it for 33+ years so?🤙
Keep it the bug is the coolest car still today
I sold it a long time ago. Been building the truck for a while now. Check it out. It's gonna be bad ass.
@@carscream1650 Not a good choice.
Definitely don’t sell it man, you’ll just regret it. Nice car btw!
I sold it a few months ago. No regrets. I'm now building an f100. Check out my other videos. It's going to be an awesome truck. Laid out with a coyote.
@@carscream1650 nice, I’ll check them out. Will definitely be a cool truck!
Don't sell it man I sold my first beetle and after 5 years of regret I got another. Trust me you will miss it.
I sold it and have zero regrets. I gotta new project. A 69 f100. It's getting bags and a coyote.
@@carscream1650 I did see it dude, I hope the new projects going well, I look forward to it's progress. 🤙🏽
Keep it
hahaha same here ,. I am not a beetle guy .. I just like mine hahahaha
If gas hits 10 bucks a gallon like there predicting its a no brainer. And don't forget they float. Could be handy after a comet impact!! Just saying....Nice Bug.....
Sell it to someone who's going enjoy it✌
I sold it last summer.
@@carscream1650 Bad move.
Keep it !! I have my 59 vw since 1978 and now my kids moved out and is time to enjoy My (PULGUITA) 💯👍🏾
Too late. Sold it last year.
@@carscream1650 Your loss.
install sealed bearing in the rear
Sold the car forever ago.
They do make sealed bearings for lowered cars.
Show me
imagine selling it and there was no reason to blurred out the price they go for 5k to 10k all day long
It was a LOT more than that. I was going through a divorce and didn't want to say the amount.
You should sell the car because you are attached to it.
No attachment to dust.
I am keeping mine tho.
I sold it and got a '69 f100 project.
@@carscream1650 Thats great! I sold one of mine yesterday and now negotiating for a '63 C10!
Good luck with yours...subscribed.
@@actualsurfer What a suck up! He NEVER should have sold that bug.
says you.
Dude... You're clearly a VW guy. It shows.
I sold the car and got a '69 f100
Sell it! I love swapin projects keeps you interested
Long sold, already driving the latest project.
I’m a practical guy.
I like cars that can function well and go over speed bumps.
Lower the beetle a bit if you want but unless you want a show car it’s not very practical to drag bottom all the time
If this upsets you, then you should, check out the truck in building. That'll make you fume.
Yeah I would sell it look for another project I got a 1970 Cadillac coupe DeVille I'll sell you make that two of them once a parts car
Sold it last year. I'm building a 69 f100. Ton of videos on my channel. Check it out.
u should buy my miata for 2700 smackers!!!
I should? Then what?
@@carscream1650 you would be way cooler looking in it than me and mama, and I was thinkin u kids love the sport cars. The comment came from my no filter thoughts and comments. I am a 57 yo vw guy daily drivin my 42nd vw since 79' just droolin over tryin to afford a lowering job. I dig the bug and the way around axle bearing issues is conversion to irs.
unfortunately i sold the bug recently
sell it and get a old 70s Lincoln land yacht slam it,
If i could afford an old continental in decent shape,, I'd have three. Already sold it and bought a '69 f100.
I say let it go. that way you have can get another classic (whatever the badge) back on the road.
Another good point.
@@carscream1650 I love the look of your bug I have a sea blue 66 bug thats lowered but not slammed/bagged. I to am in the same delima and that's kinda how I'm justifying it cuz there are plenty of old cars that need "saved"
Don't sell
Keep u will regret it.
I sold it and I don't regret it. Check out the 1969 F100 I've been building on my channel. The truck is going to be a lot cooler.
Lado negativo de um fusca rebaixado: Todos!
Não existe lado positivo. Se quer conseguir a façanha de destruir um Fusca, rebaixe-o!
Sorry. Sorry I did that to my car. I hope someday to have a car exactly like yours and everyone else's.
no
Looks fully messed up
Thanks.
Keep the Beetle, sell the Mustang. Then everyone is happy.
Already sold the bug. Got a new f100 project. It's getting bags and a coyote.
It does not look right, my meaning!!!
Your meaning?
Ford or VW???? Dude serious, Beetle all the way!
I sold it a long time ago. Been building the truck for a while now. Check it out. It's gonna be bad ass.
U will mis it
I dont miss it.
@@carscream1650 Yes you do.
Get rid of that VW. I like the F100 idea.
I think I'm gonna.
