Another good reminder in this video is that the walls from a slab box need to be leather hard before working so that they will not fall over or ruin your work.

Clay has a sort of “muscle memory”. So, if you have bent it while handling it, it can warp. An uneven thickness or rapid drying can also cause warping.

I thought if you make the knob hollow then attach it to the lid, you are actually creating an air bubble. This is the only part I do not agree with. It doesn't seem to make sense
@@marynixon687 If it's more than half an inch thick, then making the knob hollow is crucial in order for the project to not explode in the kiln. What she didn't mention is that you should put a hole in the slab that the knob is attaching to, which eliminates the air bubble that a hollow knob would've created. Hope this helps!

This video reminded me of the importance of reinforcing the walls so they don't curl inwards and remain rigid throughout the building process.
Taking a damp sponge to remove any excess clay crumbs helps to avoid sharp, dry bumps that can cut you.
