- I have been loving the stock DLC burrs that came with the DF64V, but I have all of the SSP burrs, so why not give them a try. The Multi Purpose MP burr from SSP has been a favorite of mine for the fruity espresso beans. Unfortunately I ran it for a long time in my DF64E, which is made for espresso, so I rarely used for any drip. Putting into the DF64V has been awesome! I have some brew videos coming soon!

Thanks for posting!
2 weeks ago i changed my stock super jolly burrs with MP red burrs, drinking espresso black only
Until now i guess i am happy, better clarity and less muddy mouthfeel
Based to SSP longevity, in home use, they will last for more than 300 years 😂
Did It make it quieter?
@@grizzle1629 No, I wouldn't say louder, a different pitch sound
TIL: use the Allen wrench to re-zero it. Thanks!!❤
Has anyone else experience the bolt holes in the SSP burrs are deeper than in the DLC burrs? I ask because when installing the SSP burr the rotating portion of the grinder is locked because the bolts touch the bottom of the griding chamber lot allowing the bottom burr holder to rotate. Any idea if getting new bolts, shimming, or other way to correct this issue?
Usually misalignment is caused by not applying the same force on all bolts. Before shims I recommend just applying a little more strength on the bolt closer to where the maker was wiped off. This is easier than having to remove burrs and put shims multiple times and got me to 100% alignment on my DF64
Both times these were technically aligned extremely good. I just chose to shim. I’ve done tons of grinders. It was unneeded but additional tightening didn’t add anything. Just always having people criticize 95% alignment
What grind setting do you find yourself at for lighter roasts with the MPs? I’m at like 5 or 6 (and about 4 clicks off chirp!). I thought maybe I’d have more range than that.
Shouldnt you apply the marker to test for alignment separately? Eg. Once to check for rotary, once for fixed
I never have
Was the bottom burr aligned at 11:30? So hard to see. I could see the top one had marker wiped out evenly.
Was perfect
Will this make it quieter?
Ssp is louder
I just don't understand why grinder manufacturers don't calibrate their grinders with burr separation in microns rather than the arbitrary numerical scale. It is a simple determination and would make grinder settings much more comparable.
