Sanremo YOU Espresso Machine Overview
The Sanremo YOU has been out since 2021, but with early models, the firmware had issues, the supply was quite low in the USA, so not many were seen out in the wild. At the 2024 SCA event in Chicago, they had many demo models as they have many many improvements since its launch.
Here is my overview of the machine, I know it does not cover everything.
Special thanks to Espresso Source for allowing me to borrow this machine for about a month.

Even though I have done several videos for Espresso Outlet about the BeanSeeker, this is my own person experience with the machine, and hopefully some education behind this new technology that I am really loving so far! Let me know what you think. #beanseeker #coldbrew #coldbrewcoffee

Which Turin Grinder Should I Get - a comparison of the DF64V, the DF64 Gen 2, and the DF83
Переглядів 6 тис.10 місяців тому
Three of my go-to coffee grinders. I use them for Espresso, V60, cold brew, etc. But always get asked "should I get this one or that one?". I cant make that decision for you, but I hope this video shows you the basics of each grinder, a size comparison, and towards the end I ask a few questions that I hope helps you decide which suits your lifestyle! #df64 #espressobar #coffeebar www.espressoou...

I felt the V60 to be the most universally translated pour over for many. If you would like to see something else, I can attempt if I have it. The DF64 Gen 2 is a multi purpose grinder, so I always like to try Espresso and drip. Not easy to find something that can do both well. #DF64 #v60coffee #v60 www.espressooutlet.net/copy-of-turin-df64-v5-single-dose-coffee-grinder/

Leave to people to find 33 extra ways of answering questions that don't exist. Way too much unnecessary work!!! This should have been a 45 sec video really!
Best all round compact 64mm single dose unit for the price ....quiet and as powerful as you need ...and so compact for domestic use. Have had one for 12 months and it does it all. No complaints.
Does Dlc burrs grind for espresso?
Both dlc and stock espresso burrs technically the same but the dlc has a coating on them to reduce friction
This machine is very futuristic. Just bought one online, but l found it's leaking underneath on the side after I press the two-shots button. And the water reservoir leaks so fast when I take it out. Is it normal? So confused and scared when I'm using it....
Does not sound Normal at all. Possibly needs some seals repaired. Could be an opv recirc line too if it only leaks while in use
You don't think the boiler can leak at the rear left when looking at the rear of the machine and then collect onto the horizontal plate and can find away through the mesh on the on the left ? Just questioning your statement how water cannot get on the electronics ?
Wouldn’t a 19s shot compared to 25s shot taste different anyways? Not the expert, but would’ve been more of a level field if each shot had the same pull time/weight
What would you recommend as a second grinder for single dosing between the new DF64 vs SK40? Thank you!
I cannot see for sure but you may have the tray mounted in transport mode. There are two more holes to the back of the tray holder that would allow mounting the tray about an inch forward.
Hmm I never noticed. if this is true that would make the machine more usable, but at my house with a standard countertop, the machine would probably not fit onto my counter.
it's a brew boiler not pre boiler
Pressure stats 😤
Not that bad. The pressure stat in this machine is huge.
Hi, which better DF54 or Sk40??thks
Neither are better or worse, just personal preference
How's the support for this product line??
I think it’s good but there are a few distributors that are terrible.
@@portakeeper yeah that's the vibe I'm getting. I wonder if this is overkill for my gaggia evo pro.
@@saadshakir3346 not overkill at all. You have Mii coffee. Trash support. They don’t care. Skulking a sale. This grinder similar to Superjolly. I’ve been in love
@@portakeeper I watched a video they mentioned you made put on black accents on the df64v?
Isn't it better to put the beans in when the grinder is already on
Can do either.
I just upgraded my stock DF83 burrs for the DLC espresso burrs. It's a reasonably-priced upgrade. I don't believe SSP HU burrs are worth the money.
I somewhat agree, I like the stock burrs over the HU most days.
I've just ordered the DLC 83mm espresso burrs for my DF83, to replace the stock Italmill burrs. Really looking forward to the results, thanks to your video. 👍
There’s way more 54 mm filters in homes then 58. I’d say 80% of home espresso machines in America are a breville. Most people don’t go for $1000 coffee machines. If they want to sell more they need to make one.
You are correct, many more 54mm tampers out there, but the majority of those people are not willing to invest in an auto tamper. Puq Press is about $1000, not many Breville Bambino fans are willing to buy the Turn Autotamper as the same cost as the espresso machine.
Pump plastic into your grinds
Lol how?
What is the exact depth of lelit Mara ?
do not have anymore, should be specifications on their website.
Excellent unboxing! I just got mine Difluid r1 a couple of weeks ago and I have to say it's all I wanted for my home coffee. Quick Q, what is this little white and turqoise A5 horizontal canddle chart? Thanks a lot 🙏🏼
Is df54 perform same as df64?
It’s good but not the same, so no does not perform the same
I know this was 2 yrs ago but still seems very relevant. I'm deciding between the DF 64 and the Atom 75. This video helps.
Both are quite different but yet the same. Atom has been awesome easy to use grinder. Latest gen 2 is pretty amazing as well especially at less than 1/3 the price. Really depends what you are going towards
Hi, I'm experiencing some issue with zeroing/alignement with my dlc burr. Once i zero it and grind something coarser around 60-70, then I can't get it back to finer. After that grind, new zero is becoming around 50 and hearing noises. Have you experienced something like that?
Unfortunately not really sure what is going on
Good stuff 😎👍🏽
Oriental junk
I just got this grinder with the diamond like burrs. My first high end grinder. Coming from an old OXO grinder, this thing is a tank. Super heavy and stable. I’m making pour over coffee and so far it’s pretty amazing.
Which kind adapter do you use for exhaust to standard 4 inch vent pipe?
Made my own to 3”
sweet cast lab 83mm are so squirly for espresso....youre absolutely right
Grazie e complimenti
Really helpful, thank you.
How is it ? What kind of data logger you choose ?
Kaleido comes with two options. Either their proprietary tablet, or certain models have bluetooth connectivity to Artisan.
I bet that shimming was not enough, this is why you didn't show the result...
ok
Great review.
I like how real your review is. Thank you.
They tell you one to two for espresso but for espresso i actually use a 3 to 3½ on the Opus comes out perfect no sour at all and sweet on the end. I have a Legato machine. I want a df64 e or v tho and just use the opus gor my pour overs. I font know if thats the right. Hoice to make tho....
Wish they would list the DB. I'll take quiet over speed.
It depends on RPM, beans, burrs, so many different things.
Was it using stock burrs?
Stock DLC
Thx for the nice review. Is it possible to set the temperature with the pressostat? I mean higher pressure, higher temperature for light roasted specialty coffee?
Yes, you can adjust the pressure, just not easily. Usually someone with something like a Scace Device will tune the pressurestat. On this machine, there was a black cover, followed by a yellow cover on the large pressurestat. There is a screw under those caps to adjust the pressure to allow higher/lower temp.
@@portakeeper Thx for this detailed information.
@@portakeeper Thx for this detailed information.
Well, I know is QM but which Model?
Vetrano Evo 2b
Wow!! What’s the brand name for that machine? ❤❤
Quick Mill Vetrano Evo 2B
Oh man this looks great, if only it's 58.55 for tighter fit
Has anyone else experience the bolt holes in the SSP burrs are deeper than in the DLC burrs? I ask because when installing the SSP burr the rotating portion of the grinder is locked because the bolts touch the bottom of the griding chamber lot allowing the bottom burr holder to rotate. Any idea if getting new bolts, shimming, or other way to correct this issue?
Is there a coupon code?
not to my knowledge
The rust color is pretty cool
Anyone else get that god awful grinding noise? Where it sounds like the burrs are grinding together even though the top burr is removed? I just got this thing a month ago and it sounds like it's going to fail. I'm not amused. Pretty disappointed actually.
My SK40 stopped working after 10 days of using it once a day for espresso. :(
This pouring method called 100% bypass 🤣
Thank you for your insight. The comments on the Gene Cafe are pointed. I currently am roasting with one and find myself wanting a better roaster. Im considering an M2 or M6 for my roasting. My desire is to be able to roast batches of approximately 500g of green beans. The M2 seems appropriate but maybe a little small. I'm interested in the M6 but concerned that it might a bit to large for our needs. You mentioned that you found the roasters produced the best roasts at or near capacity. My question is whether a quality roast could be accomplished by repetition and developing a great profile for that specific batch size, say 500g?
Did you end up pulling the trigger on one? I'm stuck between deciding on either the m2 or the m6 as well for the same reasons you identified. M6 seems a bit too big but would be happy if I could roast down to 400g with decent consistency.
ridiculous gadget, if one isn't able to handle that manually... perhaps the Beatles have the right message : "Let it be".... ;-(
You won't think it ridiculous once you develop painful carpal tunnel from frequent or long term use of manual tampers
@@user-mt1ww1hn6w ok... in that case that's the only excuse😃😎
Is the tamp 58.0 or 58.2 ?
after few days of looking around I bought Baratza Encore ESP after your video, very informative and honest review. cheers!
