Jumpers! Just a heads up that I have a BUNCH of combos with the Basic Cross! I've organized them all on my website here 👉 www.natekg.com/jump-rope-combos/cross (Plus there's 380+ more FREE combos there to try out different skills 😄)
I've watched so many crossover tutorials and this is the best. I like how you broke things down and gave progression drills too. Please do more beginner drills and combos. Thank you so much!
Went back to this video. I have been struggling with the damn cross for a long time. After about an hour of practicing, I'm starting to finally get used to it more. Yes, my right thigh looks like I enjoy BDMS, not skipping, but it's worth it! Thank you
Also in testing my three ropes for me the beaded rope works best. My speed rope seems to trip me up. Having fun finally doing this move…not consistently yet but wow it is so gratifying. Thank you!
Thanks Coach Nate! I like the way you teach. You explain all the steps of this progression in a simplified, analytical and clear manner. I learned this move in a matter of days. More success to you Sir 👍👍
@@CoachNateKG There are several reasons as to why this was helpful to me. Firstly, the fact that you cross over left and vice versa. Secondly, not extending the rope to compensate for rope length. And finally, ""scooping" the rope to complete the cross was essential to make the crossover properly. One note I should add is that you're one of very few people who have done right over left, and left over right hand during the crossover.
@@hussam41 oh great!! I’m glad those points came across well!! And yes, practicing skills on both sides of the body is sooo important. It’s very normal to do that in competitive jump rope, but it is not as common for recreational jumpers. But if you do practice that way, you will get so strong with crosses! And with any other skills that you practice on both sides 😁💪💪
This is actually one of the most common mistakes with Crosses! You definitely want to focus on having your arms make contact with your waist - that'll help the rope clear your feet correctly 😁👍
I noticed for the open after the cross, the elbows need to be brought back for more control and nicer cross..if we keep elbows in we lose so much control.. especially as we progree to DU cross
Please talk slower for us old southern slow folks🤣 Love Love Live your tutorials but when you are naming the moves my slow brain can't keep up...my brain synapses don't work properly...I need some norepinephrine or dopamine or both??? Or maybe some adderall lol

I really like the structure and breakdown of these tutorial videos and also that you specifically mention the things to avoid. 👍
Thanks! Yea I wanted to make it as clear as possible, so I'm glad it translated well :)

Awesome!! Which part was the most helpful?

The tip that helped me the most was point the fingers and draw circles - thanks #beginnerbreakthrough #jumprope
Ah sweet! Yea that part is SO important! And I'm happy that it was a breakthrough!!
Can't wait to try this tomorrow...I can do crosses but my arms are too far out in front of me...maybe because I'm trying to clear my fat belly lol😫

Hahah! Dually noted - there are a LOT of different terms to keep track of in this sport 😂
