I think the main manipulation is in quotes of US dollar 30-year inflation linked swaps. During the last year CPI Inflation in US raised from 2% to 8,5% y/y. But 30-year inflation linked swaps kept in 2,4-2,6% range. This manipulation can be worse then LIBOR manipulation, and it can keep inflation-protection assets such as gold at relatively low levels for a while

Only problem is, losing dollar reserve currency status is going to be terrible for American citizens. They've screwed us! Gold will help but everything else will be in the toilet. @@fkrr5 not true, it has done better than every stock and other assets (outside of housing) since 1971. The powers-that-be do everything in their power to keep people chasing paper instead of real money which is gold and silver so give it time because pretty soon there will be a proper and natural correction. Just remember that people know the price of everything yet the value of nothing and both gold and silver are still extremely suppressed in purchasing power leverage and that can't last forever

FEDs aren't going to increase price of their competition (gold). They want to look right so they drop gold and make you think us dollar is king. Easy peasy.

The Comex may not represent the true price of gold, but if you look at the premiums charged to buy bullion you get a better picture. Today the Comex price of silver is suppressed in the face of limited supply and premiums for physical bullion are 20% higher. “Gold is the Money of Kings, Silver is the Money of Gentlemen, Barter is the Money of Peasants, and Debt (the US Dollar) is the money of Slaves.”
How is it that JPM gets fined for market manipulation in the PM markets and yet are allowed to be the custodians for Gold Trusts ETFs? Fines or payoff?

Gold is the most centralized commodity on Earth. Russia and China have huge amounts of gold and it's in the world's best interest to manipulate the price lower so they don't leverage the gold if price increases. Gold is definitely suppressed, but it's by design and will likely fall in the future

I think the main manipulation is in quotes of US dollar 30-year inflation linked swaps. During the last year CPI Inflation in US raised from 2% to 8,5% y/y. But 30-year inflation linked swaps kept in 2,4-2,6% range. This manipulation can be worse then LIBOR manipulation, and it can keep inflation-protection assets such as gold at relatively low levels for a while

I concur with most of the comments that this was a great interview; definitely worth an hour of time. Only problem is, losing dollar reserve currency status is going to be terrible for American citizens. They've screwed us! Gold will help but everything else will be in the toilet. Your pension will be worthless. Social Security and Medicare will be insolvent. Society will be on the brink, if it's not already. We're already experiencing some of this but it will get worse!!!
