- Kalaripayattu is one of the oldest martial art forms in the world that originated from the state of Kerala. In this video, we explain the use of Gadha in martial art. This heavy wooden weapon is also known as a mace or club. One has to follow strict rules and regulations while using this weapon and the body needs to be strong and agile. This video demonstrates the use of Gadha by the combatants as they spar at the Kalari.

Our history will also be a great game or show
Bheem hit on thighs.

It's look like Bheem vs duryodhan fighting
Btw perfect Indian martial arts and it this types of scenes must be included in Mahabharata and ramayn so that we can actually connect with dhanurveda.🙏
Yes. Battle skills (Dhanurved) should be shown in Ramayan and Mahabharat serials/movies.
These are exercise maces. War maces which were made from iron, bronze or steel weren’t this big.

I am a malayali
They didn't regularly practice with gada( mace). two guys just showing. So many miss when hitting those gada together. But good video
May UP Se hu
Mujhe bhi Marital Art learn karna hain
V good
Thin boys , first they sud put some weight than fight
This seems like a realistic mace unlike the gold plated poofy ones
I think, the Gada is more of a showfight weapon. Too heavy for actual war.
Onehanded flanged maces and twohanded Polehammers were used in wars instead.
Club
Kids when they find a large stick in the park:
Gadha ithra cheruthaano
🤣🤣🤣👍🏼
Yudhathil upayokikkunna gada yude size cheruth aanu, and ath light weight aanu. Practice maces are way heavier...
If this is what these people can do here then what were Bhima and Duryodhana doing?? I cannot even imagine my skull crushed by one blow of that heavy thing.
I don’t think anyone realises these things can weigh 6-40kgs
😍😍
Thank you for watching the video...happy that you enjoyed it

Gadha???
haha! Its a thing in South India to add an H to names. Gada in North becomes Gadha there.
Nobody was truly attacking or defending. Just dancing around, perhaps for posture improvement. Disappointing video.
Come on guys do something sensational this is so unsensational!!!!!!!!
Well this isn't real gada or mace 🤷🤷 it's for practice purpose real on are made of metal
@@shivambhanushali3693 okay is there any other video of a sensational Gada demo please tell me because I wanna see it
That thing could probably do some damage on a direct hit
not "some" ... a lot actually
that thing would definitely cripple or kill on a direct hit
The Mace weapon was part of the core Eurasian Steppe culture. It was introduced in Kerala probably after 800CE by effect of nambudri brahmin's story tales.
Stupid Rice Bag Convert😂
I was introduced to the steppe people by migrated Kshatriyas
Maces were used even in the Paleolithic times. It is a very old weapon.
@@srivastavashivam949 the concept of varna was introduced after the arrival of Steppe people (R1a Haplogroup) in Indian subcontinent. Not the other way around 🤦
This is a waste
