I just adore this woman. Dionne and Roberta both possess voices and talent that can't be confused with others. The last century blessed us with some of the best music, musicians, and artists the world will EVER know. What a gift to have experienced it in real time.
Ο I so agree! An embarrassment of riches.... and while I love the fact that a younger generation gets the chance to familiarize themselves - and genuinely experience the novelty of wave after wave of musical innovation these past 50 years - thanks to the Internet (and UA-cam, obviously) - I do rather tire of the “so-and-so was the greatest blah-blah-blah of all tıme” when ıt ıs immediately followed by the phrase “and the pop singers and writers of our time are total shit”, because the latter is simply not true - in fact, the music and talents of our time are very, very strong, and benefit enormously by this easy accessibility to precedents in the past, and the marvellous changes a “discovery” like Dionne W (or the quirkiness of Burt’s B’s and his collaboration with Hal9000 David) can work upon our present. This is not a criticism of your comment - you did not disparage anyone - nor am I. I AM grateful - as I am sure you are - to be 53, and to have lived through these decades as this music spilled out, over the radio and television in the late 60s and through the 70s - though radio play was still the far more important vector, and the availability and selection in ACTUAL (not “virtual”) record stores - and to have heard the completely new sound of Rap and other genres as they were being invented and given to the world. Wouldn’t trade that for anything. And I still think Rap is great and I’d be the last to get nippy about mumble rap or the Fucci Fang or whomever folks like to diss... Great music is like water; It finds a way.
As great as she was and still is, she still does not get the accolades as one of the greatest singers who have ever lived, why is this women not in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame
Ms. Dionne adds so much softness, sexiness, sultriness, and soulfulness on this gem. She always looks like she is not singing instead she looks like she is holding a conversation with you, lol. To me, that is so mesmerizing!! Ms. Dionne could have also turned this song into a huge hit record!!!!! She can sing her a** off. Her control is so natural and raw!!!
It’s crazy to me how Dionne’s career took that crazy turn in the 70’s after leaving Scepter and signing with Warner Brothers - the most prestigious record label for the highest sum of money for a female artist at the time. Dionne’s cover of this song further validates that she was the blueprint for Pop Soul success. Diana mimicked her catalog the best she could to get further acceptance from the adult contemporary community, the Fifth Dimension and the Carpenters were her babies, Aretha tried to reinvent Dionne’s magic, and clearly Roberta was able to pick up where Dionne left off but it’s clear the catalog borrows from Dionne’s repertoire. Just imagine if Warner Brothers had contracted Quincy Jones and “Hey There...” by Aretha were a Dionne Warwick project or “Feel Like Making Love” by Roberta was a Dionne Warwick album. Imagine that.
A lot of people slept on Dionne. In so many ways Dionne Warwick can sing her heart ❤️ out. This cover of #KillingMeSoftly proves she can sing 🎶. March, 11 ,2017.
The Queen is dead. DINAH WASHINGTON! Everybody knows that! The Queen of soul, was, coulda, shoulda, been Whitney's Mom, SISSY HOUSTON. I always thought that. Even when no one knew her but me! Then I saw LUTHER VAN DROSS greet her on stage & say to SISSY. You were the "BEST". Confirming my soul!
Well done Lady Dionne.
The unique Dionne Warwick. Immense class and talent, what an irresistible combination!!!
I think she has one of the most beautiful rawest beauty ever.

LOVE THIS!!!!!! She is really singing this. Roberta would love it....
I love the calming nature of her voice, she would do great with smooth jazz. I’ll search UA-cam to see if she has any songs in that genre.
It's beautiful
Not a bad cover. Good. Dionne doing justice to this song. Roberta must be proud after seeing this. Legend Dionne.
Well to be fair Flack was not the original singer
Dionne warwick ❤️❤️
How I would love to hear Warwick and Flack singing this song together as. a duet.
They had a duet with this song on Solid Gold.
Flawless.

I heard it 😂😂😂😂
My whole music world has been lies!!! I thought this was Laren Hill's song.... It was all a lie.
Um, Roberta Flack?
The Queen is dead. DINAH WASHINGTON! Everybody knows that! The Queen of soul, was, coulda, shoulda, been Whitney's Mom, SISSY HOUSTON. I always thought that. Even when no one knew her but me! Then I saw LUTHER VAN DROSS greet her on stage & say to SISSY. You were the "BEST". Confirming my soul!
She is able to turn one of the ugliest and most irritating song in something pleasant to listen. The capacity of transforming music score is rare.
Es una belleza! Un placer escucharla!
I love her!!! Dionne Warwick has one of the most amazing voices. ❤️
