Awesome series! Thanks for sharing. Very much appreciated. I was planning to make the same, so now thinking what I have left I've not seen with the Priuses is a YT video on DIY machining a head and block mating surface if required. Most likely using a granite cutting board that I found was ~0.001 or better or my granite surface plate for the head and a smaller surface plate for the block with sand paper if required. Videos doing on other engines, though I've not seen with the Priuses yet and I have a 2013 head gasket to do eventually and two 1.5L engines so far. I'd also like to do a video on converting the Prius C engine to fit in a gen 2. One of these days, though for now the woman has be rescuing gen 2 Priuses and getting them back to road worthy Toyota specs. Seems every parts car turns into a new car to move forward and the bonus find engines and batteries get sidetracked until required. 🙂

Good series, but cannot find your link for the “special wrist pin” tool you mentioned.
I hope the rebuild lasts without boring to the next oversize…

Thanks! This was a fun rebuild. They have driven it a few thousand miles and report no oil consumption 🙂. I'll check on that link, knowing me I probably forgot to post it 🤦🏻‍♂️

Did you put in the updated 2015 design piston and rings?
