Thanks for the video. I just purchased one on ebay that was almost mint. I made the mistake of leaving it in a hot car with the result being the LCD problem. I followed your directions and my scanner is back to normal. Props for mentioning the video that was posted by another person. Thanks for the informative and helpful video.
My son decided to throw my bc75xlt in a pan of water, now it's not turning on with USB or batteries. Is there a fuse or something to look for? I'll tinker with it before I scrap it.

Thanks for posting this video. This is a popular low end analog scanner.
FYI The microcontroller is made by Renesas, part number R5F2L3AACNFP. The BC125AT/XLT radios use the Renesas UPD70F3794GC.
