I got a 05 too. Magnetic red, vararam, corsa and longtubes. Love the car. Love the interior compared to my old 01. The seats are an upgrade, but the leather is still garbage. The C7's leather is thick and beautiful.
I love how all of the C6 reviews from 2005 talk about how great the interior trim and seats are, yet they couldn't shut up about how those two things were the only things they disliked about 4 years later.
Your right!! The Interiors, not bad!! It was huge step up from the C5. With Allot more options/Bells and whistles than the C5 as well. The LS2 Z51 was close enough to the C5 Z06 . But more refined and luxury options. It's All what you want I guess, I love It!!! But I also love the C7. That interior is to KILL For!!!
The MPH of 112 they got with this car isn’t that bad and on a hot day it’s the norm they should be right in the 114-115 range in cool weather/sea level however the 0-60 and 1/4 were BAD manual and A6 2.73 LS2 Corvettes are legitimate low 4 second 0-60 mid-high 12 second cars
@@raymondnewbill5294 Why not, autos are better for most driving in traffic. American roads are long and straight with very few curves. I can't think of anything more boring than driving a manual in a straight line.

Nice car i just bought a 05 c6 coupe lt. Its a custom magnetic red paint job. It has a 4 speed automatic transmission. Black leather interior with heated seats and navigation. It is luxurious and a sports car at the same time. It has 73000 miles. Love the car. Gm did a nice re design of the corvette. I still like the c5 convertible only, never liked the coupe c5, but the c6 is definetly an upgrade!
Bro they are AMAZING cars. But you got the auto which is GARBAGE!!! Even in the new C7's the auto is trash. And if you find it "luxurious" your mind would be blown sitting in a 5 or 7 series or a Mercedes LMAO. You must think a Chevy Cobalt is the pinnacle of luxury😂😂😂
Now, im a c5 lover, obviously the c6 offers better performance. But in my opinion it doesn't look like a corvette anymore, not to the extent of the c7, but it doesn't look right to me. Any yes the c5 cant outperform this stock, but imaging if they had build it from an all aluminum chassis, the c5 would be beastly. Personally I prefer the c5 looks and style. The biggest issue is the lack of downforce, but that's it, and its still a great ride through the corners. And may arguably have a lower drag coefficient than the c6.
And, my uncle had a LS2 vette. It was pretty. My cousin is a twitchy pale skinny type. He got inside and was checking it out while nobody was around (yeah old enough to drive by far). So, not started he was playing the radio and messing with controls.... had the windows down when..... the battery was low and it automatically rolled the windows up and locked him in causing him to wig out and have a panic attack. I understand there is a lever under the seat. Idk if he got the manual out or what but he was in there a while.
Yeah, I think the high 12s comments are accurate. I ran one the other day in a 2nd gen TA with a mild built 455 and ran dead even from about 65 to 110. They run hard. Harder than 13s.
Journalist always talked badly about the C5's interior but I think the C6 was a step back in quality and appearance. Nowadays whenever you see a C6, half the time the fixed headlights are all hazed over or filled with condensation. You ain't got that problem with pop-ups.

As someone who has owned both -- I can say it is wonderful to own a Corvette for the fact that you never have to worry about rust like you do when buying a 4th Gen Firebird/TA's.
Fantomg100 The C5Z06 is a little faster, but for the daily driver, the C6 creams the C5Z06!!! ALot more bells and whistles.Plus the ride is MUCH better in the C6. The C6 is still PLENTY fast!! Yet drives like a M3 BMW!!! It's all what you like. I Drive my 2005 Z51 around town, not at a race track!! Even with Speed, the C6 was meant to run neck in neck with a C5Z06!! For the $ I'm glad I went C6. If you just Race or like that racier feel than people should check out the C5Z06??
Nice car but too much money for what it is!! After 20 thou miles it becomes a harsh ride and they still have the rattle and squeaks like the past, not as bad but they still have them....
This is the base Vette...the slowest Vette you can buy, and it still has a top end of 187 mph....if you want a lot more performance then buy a Zo6 Vette. 0-60 in about 3 seconds with a 200 mph top end.

I remember seeing this as a kid when it first came out. I was mad that they took away the pop up headlights from the C5.
Sadly, the government said no more flip up headlights.
Where did you get the 0-60 time from? Way to high more like 4.1 sec at 12.5 in the 1/4 mile. Stock ls2.

In 2006, the Corvette got a 6 speed auto, a much needed upgrade to the 4 speed automatic

yeah. I still like the look of the C5 better though. C5 exterior lines flow better imo. C6 looks choppy and the built-in headlights look kinda cheap.
It does not have 400hp. It is 407-411, SAE. The 400 was used as not to beat the C5 Z06. Fact.
