when you listen to Mariola I invite you to remember your own color palette. I follow her ideas but i wear a completely different set of core colors because I am a spring 🎉
Basic pieces and the extra piece(s) that give your outfit personality. Keep from being a boring outfit. I think I’ll divide my wardrobe into these two categories and see if I’m paying attention to this aspect. Thanks for another very thoughtful review of your wardrobe and why these are your most worn pieces.
You’ve helped me to understand what I like and why so well, I now absolutely love my clothes. I always have a beautiful outfit to wear that makes me feel a million bucks, even if it’s just a casual outfit. All down to you, Mariola. From my heart; THANK YOU!! ❤ xx
I just love your style, Mariola! It’s different than mine in many ways, but it always inspires me to think a bit differently when pairing things. Thank you ❤
What I love: mostly light, neutral or cool-toned pastel colored classic pieces in 100% breathable, soft, natural-fiber fabrics. Because they feel so good! Dresses and skirts, tall leather or suede boots, blazers and tailored coats.
I absolutely love your videos!! Can I ask a question… I love your short boxy jackets, I’ve just ordered two for myself, xs and xxs… the xxs is more fitted and sits on my shoulders, but I prefer the length and extra room in the xs… but the shoulders don’t sit at my shoulder… do you worry about that aspect? I’m most likely overthinking this 😂❤
Really enjoyed your content and your style adivse, they are super practical and inspiring. You are one of the best youtuber I have discovered lately. Looking forward to your shoes video!
My most worn clothes: silk shirts/undershirts and silk slip skirts; cashmere, collared, short Polo sweaters (my favorite style, but I do also wear other style wool or cashmere sweaters, like Sezane Betty cardigans, which I love); knitted cashmere or wool dresses and skirts, and less often, trousers, joggers or leggings of wool, cashmere or silk. Also, long-sleeved silk dresses under a long, tailored wool coat, especially for going to public places where I want a light, cool, indoor outfit, not warm layers*. I’m more comfortable in skirts and dresses than any trousers. Tall boots and tights. Today, at home alone, with casual visitors coming later, I’m wearing an ivory, thick cotton-knit midi skirt and an ivory silk turtleneck, under a cashmere taupe and ivory striped pullover sweater, with long ivory cotton socks and my beloved Stegmann wool clogs, my super-comfy winter house shoes. A very typical cold-weather outfit for me. If I had to go out, I would add my taupe suede knee-high boots and one of my long, wool overcoats, or a wool blazer, depending on how cold it is. I only wear natural fibers. *I keep my house at 60F, so the layers I wear comfortably at home are much too hot for the always-overheated public places here in California, they’re 75-80F or more! I’d rather wear, remove and carry a single long, warm wool overcoat than two or three smaller layers that I have to keep track of.
regarding trousers - you have i think a straight body type and having more volume on the bottom gives your waist nice definition - especially when you pair with slimmer tops and jumpers and a belt 🎉
Love your style! We have similar taste! Can I ask, how do you manage when it is wet and horrible outside with long trousers? How do you avoid getting the hems all wet? Thank you ❤
Thank you so much for your comment. For a very bad rainy weather in autumn and winter I prefer to wear my cropped trousers with high top converse or leather Chelsea boots. But if rain takes me by surprise I simply pull my trousers higher in a waist. I may look a bit funny, but my trousers are safe🤪 I feel like the colours I wear are very easy and they can mask some dirt - black, b&w check, khaki, dark grey, and I would never wear my lighter colour trousers when it’s wet xxx😊
Du siehst in den Outfits wunderschön und süß aus, dazu deine tolle Figur, Wahnsinn, kommst immer gut rüber, ich wünsche dir noch einen schönen Tag und weiterhin viel Spaß 🥰🥰🥰🥰
The tone of the colours is so imported.I realized it a few years now and it's why i can not pair well my clothes. It's so difficult to find my colour pallet!
Fragrance is important to me since I’m allergic to scents made from chemicals especially aldehydes which are used in perfume and other scented products also in formaldehyde.😱
It just shows how much all our bodies differ, there are no trouser styles that are nearly as comfortable for me as skirts and dresses, even my best fitting styles: elastic-waist, often knit joggers, leggings, etc. I know I’m in the minority on this, most women just love trousers. It’s my body shape, I can never get a good enough fit, even if custom-made for me. They ride up uncomfortably, or, if looser, just won’t stay up at all. I have narrow hips and not much waist definition. Trousers don’t stay up without that hip curve, or a very tight, elastic, waist. I’m also very high-waisted, so the rise needs to be quite long to accommodate from my leg break to my waist, but then they end up with the crotch hanging too low and the waistband folding over on top. No matter what, they ride up uncomfortably when I sit and I hate the painful strain right there between my legs! I’ve been searching for fifty years and have tried everything. As much as I would love to find great-fitting trousers or jeans, I’ve just had to accept that skirts are dresses just work so much better for me. It’s pure torture to wear jeans, nor does it look right, there are always empty flaps of fabric sticking out where the hips are supposed to fill them out. The majority of women are pear-shaped and they don’t know how good they have it, clothes are designed for theirs the average female shape. I always have to take in those hip curves (and remove side pockets, if any) in the sides of skirts and dresses, sewing a straight seam instead and cutting off the excess fabric. But, that can’t be done with most trousers because of the side pockets and/or side zippers, or the flat-felled seams (the wrinkly-looking kind of thick, folded seam used in jeans). I’ve never found a tailor willing to change flat-felled seams at any price, it isn’t easy. Nor “take in shoulder”, by the way. I hear inexperienced young women saying “just take in the shoulders” of lined jackets, they don’t realize what they’re asking - this is a minimum $200 tailoring job, if anyone willing can be found to take it on.
Once again thank you, Mariola. I really love your videos and style!

Have you tried mens trousers, as Mariola does, for your straighter shape?

Distressed jeans are unflattering and look messy. They have had there time thank goodness.
