don't put charcoal directly on the roof surface, because some times due to excessive heat it gets burst or cracked this case was happend in my childhood . So you can put bricks and then spread the charcoal

I tried this recipe with few changes and it came out really nice Added aam ke achar ka masala in litti filling and also to the chokha Also added chopped onion to chokha
In bihar my grandmother uses oil from manga pickle and it's masala instead of lemon. And that's the ultimate thing to bind the sattu for litti. Believe me.
Use paper because clothes are synthetic which is more dangerous for health... I m from up and waha ese hi banate h 😊😊 but we used to have this with mutton curry without stuffing 😜😜 btw water nhi mustard oil use krte h binding ke liye stuffing me.. 😊
Many mistake in cooking Lityi chokha. 1 Do not add waterb to sattu but mustard oil. 2 After baking Litti ,clean it with cotton clothes. 3 Tadka is not used for chokha but raw mustard oil.

You ought to use a layer of bricks & sand beneath the fire 🔥 . Else the terrace floor concrete beneath will be damaged badly and will show its effects after one year or so. And you will keep on pondering that what went wrong during the construction of the same.
@Inputting Ddiode it's not the matter of good or bad it is the matter of taste. Especially in litti we should only use bengal gram sattu. When this sattu is mixed with virgin mustard oil it tastes great. Dude try this original way. Keep your litti original.
