I was totally thinking it was early 2000's
I kinda feel bad for Joslyn bc like I love Lilly but it always seems like the beauty stuff their doing is just for Lilly and Jos just has to sit on the side and watch. For example: 7 brush blowout, eyebrow microblading, dying her hair, etc. I understand that Jos probably doesn't want to do those things but then they should do an episode where they both will like. Idk I just feel bad that Joslyn has never really had an episode that is just for her and always had to watch Lilly get beauty treatments.
Ginny Fraser joslyn already has extensions and she probably didnt want to do the blowout or the microblading but there has been plenty of beauty trippins that she was included in even if it wasn't beauty related like the model and pole dancing lessons just because she doesn't do the more beauty centered videos doesn't mean they just push her to the side I think the producers ask her what she wants to do or idk I may be mistaking

Hannah Marie don’t get me wrong my hair did get greasy when I started doing this but my hair hasn’t been healthier until I trained my hair to be stable enough to wash every 2 weeks . My hair only got greasy every 4 days beforehand tho so it wasn’t like waaay different to not wash it cause i used to go a week
Lauren Sandvig Probably because you wash it often. I was washing my hair every other day at one point and it got so bad and greasy. Now I wash my hair once a week and it never looks greasy and it's so much healthier and shinier and it grew out sooo much!

I like how they asked about the price and then she didn't answer them she just told them about the holy hair thing haha. Must be extremely expensive then and she was just trying to justify why it would be worth it. Girls, just order your own clip in extensions online. You can get real human hair for great prices and just clip them in yourself. It's really easy. And you can take them out whenever you want so it's super easy to change up your style and out different colors in there and stuff. Just a thought

I saw a documentary on indian hairs trade and it was so heartbreaking to see little girls crying while they were cuting of their hair....
It is so horrible to buy hairs from those temples. They make money over those girls and women. You shouldn't support them....
thank god people are more exposed to this now. 12 years ago i went to france and met a girl from china who was basically scalped because hair poachers forcibly stole her hair to sell. ive never supported the extension market because of how unregulated it is.
And again....they are NOT all the same. Please read my answer above to a similar comment. Agreed that I would support that either but do your research. They are NOT all the same.

And yes Erin and Joslyn have eps but the main focus was that most are about Lily and I wish to see more clever girls or guys doing some more eps also. Ohhhhh your hair looks fabulous, I love it. I leave my hair washing up to day 10 too. It was tough getting it up to the 10 day mark....a lot of ponytails, messy buns and hats lol. Plus the fact that Im blonde helped as our hair tends not to look a greasy in most cases anyway so it was probably an easier task for me to draw out wash days. But once your hair gets used to not being washed every other day it really is such a joy! Particularly now that my hair is literally passed my bum, so washing it constantly was wreaking havoc on my ends. I noticed too that my split ends are really very minimal now with stretching my washes out. It's made such a difference to my hair. Lee x

They've pretty much told it wrong, it's part of a deep religious belief in India and people who are in desperate times shave their hair for their belief and their hair is supposed to be donated to the needy ie those with cancer; the fact that this hair is just used simply for hair extensions really pisses me off

What she said is totally true actually. I live near a temple in south India with probably the largest hair shaving devotees in India but there is so much of the hair being removed each day that I can't see how they could make anything useful out of all the mixed mess but then again, I don't know this hair extension business.

I don’t know about this stylist... she really avoided the price question and I’m not so sure about this whole “holy hair” story. A lot of the hair extensions industry runs on destitute women selling their hair for almost nothing and then the buyer turning around and selling it for an outrageous price.

It's actually true. And it's usually Hindus who sacrifice their hair. I'm from India myself, and it's a common practice here.
Zaara Nausheen I for sure believe the practice and tradition exists. I’m just not fully convinced by the fact that this is where she gets the hair for the extensions. I’ll have to research her salon and find out more.
The buyer sells it for a higher price due to the fact that they must condition, process and deliever the hair into actual product. No one is going to get paid top dollar for cutting there hair.
I think it's pretty likely that she gets the hair from India, from sacrifices, because it is the common and cheapest place where you can get human hair from. And it gets so pricey because the buyer has to remove all color from the hair then redye it and change the thickness of the hair to match a european hair thickness. The part where she says that it is the highest quality because all of the cuticles lie in one direction is bullshit, that is normal. what could make it pricier is if the hairextensions are made by hand, but it didn't look it though

I wash my hair everyday. It gets too greasy if I don't. My hairdresser says my hair is amazing and very healthy so I'll stick with cleaning it everyday
It's kinda also wrong with the SLS that "makes your hair look clean but it's dirty" - it's strong detergent (which is not super good to use everyday) but hair get greasy faster because your skin is protecting itself from it, not because it leaves something.
I also do wash my hair everyday - and if your hair need it do it. It's better to wash it everyday (with gentle shampoo) than to have dirty, greasy hair, which might be harmfull to your skin.

@@cg4274 You'd have to look for the products that are available in your country. Many of the petal fresh shampoos don't have strong detergents. I use Anwen and Fitocosmetics (one with tea and henna) but they might not be available in many places. Check out the names of the strong detergents like SLS and SLES and look for them in the ingredients (Also, use the strong shampoo from time to time)

Love the hair but the stylist should layered the extensions to blend in with her hair... it looks really fake in my opinion. But sis looks good with the mermaid hair I would love to see some pastel streaks in it or something...

Joslyn is seriously always being left out, and it’s really annoying! Maybe you guys should pamper her a little more! Also the tone of the stylist’s voice every time Joslyn would ask if she could help, and she said no in a very rude way was super irritating. I felt really bad for Joslyn in this video.

I think Jos just doesn't always want to do them. I think she likes to include others and/or she already has some of what they do. I mean, her brows are naturally great, she has extensions that she uses on the norm and I don't think she doesn't like to get crazy with her hair color-wise, and she already regularly gets facials like she's said in the past. So I mean.........that's what they do on this show lol And isn't she their boss technically-? Maybe not haha

I don’t understand this washing your hair once a week thing. I wash my hair every other day or sometimes even once a day and it’s super healthy and grows pretty fast. What’s the benefit to waiting so long?
Every time you shampoo your hair you are stripping off the natural oils as well as adding products that will gunk up your hair. Depending on the shampoo you are using that can actually end up clogging the hair follicle and causing it to fall out and not grow back. And the natural oils in your scalp protects the scalp and nourishes the hair. Too much washing can cause breakage, damage and dry scalp.
some people blow dry/ flat iron etc their hair after washing their hair and the heat damages the hair very badly and the products so thats why some people wait so long

Literally she was talking about how bad sulfates are but one of the shampoos she had in her cabinets has sulfates in it. Also she was talking about how special her holy indian hair is but most hair extensions are made with Indian hair. Asian hair tends to be the cheapest hair (not to say its bad quality or anything its great quality hair but its the most common hence why its cheap) European hair is actually more expensive. Not trying to hate or anything im a stylist too just wanted to point those out.
The cabinet was shared. Monique does not use sulfates.
Mary Heimbold fair enough. Her wording still bothers me when shes talking about sulfates though. She said shampoos that use sulfates are cheap. The shampoo in the cabinet definitely isnt cheap. A liter costs $30
European hair is too thin. you need something in the middle that you won’t have to worry about it constantly shedding or tangling. Like Indian, Malaysian, or Brazilian hair

From what I’ve ever heard, Indian hair is typically grown and then cut/sold by very poor Indian women who are in dire need of income - not given during kinds of religious rituals. It appears that the extension stylist was attempting to make the hair origin situation sound like a positive thing... when it’s really a sad occurrence for poverty-stricken Indians to need to sell hair for money. Can anyone else provide info?
