The oil pressure gauge in my 1984 FJ 45 Toyota Landcruiser stopped working. The pressure sensor / sending unit was a little hard to find. - Навчання та стиль

She's in great nick... would love to see a bit more of her
It is a bit of a freak of nature. It’s never been restored.
It has a galvanised body which is why there is no rust. That and I don’t drive it on the beach.
When I bought it about 15 years ago the windscreen was cracked and the paint was falling off.
I had the window replaced and a paint job to get it on the road. Since then have just been fixing things along the way as they break.
I also added a winch, snorkel and a long range tank as the mileage is terrible but you don’t buy them for the fuel economy.
Thanks for commenting :)
@@DavoShed good to hear a little more of her history. Im currently working on a h47. Gives me a great reason to me in the shed haha
Every second person that stops me in any car park asks “is it a diesel”?
Living in the country people just come straight up and start talking. Takes a bit of getting used to. I grew up in Sydney.
Good luck with yours. I also have a HJ60 that features in a couple of videos.
I tend to video what ever is going on in my shed. Hard to build a following on UA-cam as people tend to like a common topic.

@@DavoShed very true
Hi friend great jeep
Hi Sasthri,
It’s a beauty. I bought it on eBay sight unseen 15 years ago. It didn’t look that good back then but having no rust at all is a miracle:)
It’s actually a Landcruiser made by Toyota.
Although I know in some places Jeep is a general term for 4wd. Thanks for commenting
What an immaculate FJ45.
Where’s the Dog Truck?
Hell yeah. What a rippa!
When I bought it sight unseen it was a bit of a leap of faith. it was unregistered with a broken windscreen. I had a friend of a friend pick it up from ACT on a tilt tray. I reckon it was “full use of the company vehicle on week ends”.
It arrived at Midnight on Saturday night. I lived in Sydney then and the neighbours were peering out the window watching it be unloaded.
I felt like I was receiving stolen goods.
New tyres, wheels and a windscreen and it passed a blue slip first go.
Some sideways glances at the motor registry and they did the interstate rego transfer. One lady said to the other “yeah, give it to him he’s not a criminal or words to that effect. A year or so later I had it resprayed in the scariest paint shop I have ever seen. I think he had no paint booth and everything in the place was 1/2 inch thick with paint dust. Drinking and smoking with a couple off teeth missing, that kind of thing. He told me it was a galvanised body and that is why there is no rust. Apparently Toyota made a batch of them for the police and they didn’t need them all so they sold them to the general public.
Anyway it’s a fun car with an interesting story.
@@DavoShed I have heard tales of galvanised body. If it’s true, that’s your retirement right there!

When I first got The Limo, I hit it with a hose the paint was flaking off but still no rust anywhere.
Dangerous Dave (the spray painter) said the paint doesn't stick to the galvanised all that well.
He sanded it back a bit and some of the gal obviously came off.
I haven't watched all of your videos yet but I think my 60 is in a similar shape rust wise to yours.
Rust around the gutters, the lower parts of the doors directly above the front wheels stuff like that.
There is a guy near me that does bath tum restorations. When he's not doing bath tubs he does old cars.
I think he uses the same technique on the cars as he does on the bath tubs :)
The repairs come out OK and the first time he quoted me a price I said "Are you sure"
It’s alive and well. Thanks Barpety
It’s in the shop at the moment. My mechanic probably needs to make a payment on his boat.
Put it in for an oil change and it’s getting something done to the front axle bits. Probably ball joints :)
It features in my wheel nuts video.
