    So what I'm hearing (besides tinnitus) is that... If you think you deserve claims, apply and get them moving ASAP under the rules today because it's only going to become harder and more stringent and lesser percentages in the future. As hard as it is today, it will never be this easy again. Let that sink it and use it as motivation to get moving ASAP before those doors that are currently open end up closing and you end up SOL.

    Clay, I agree with you 100 percent in that the VBA is using deceitful methods to say keep their balance sheets in order at the cost of the deserving Veteran. I am Vietnam Vet and retired Army as well. I have 8 different claims in since 2020 and to this date am only rated at 20 percent. I keep getting claims denied or rated at zero percent. I am a patient man but am frustrated at the VBA bureaucracy. The VHA leg is wonderful! Keep up the good work you are doing, it is through the educational videos that you and others put out to help that I have become informed of the benefits that I should be receiving. I previously had thought that since I was retired military with Tricare for Life that I didn’t need the VA for help. Wrong way of thinking, am trying to make things right now but it is the process of hitting a brick wall when it comes to the VBA. I am 55 years after my Vietnam War service time.

    The information landscape has changed so much. When I got out in '93 after more than 14 years there wasn't even a referral to the VA. I didn't submit a claim until 2012 because I didn't know I could get any disability. Now at 70% and they 0% some things they should not have. I'm glad more vets are getting compensation. Having the largest military budget in the world is gonna come with some liabilities.

  • @dannichols67
    @dannichols67 9 днів тому +44

    Yes, this is what I was thinking could happen. VA would find a way to reduce benefits without taking anything away. If they can make the claim requirements more stringent, the benefits would be harder to access and Vets would find it harder and harder to qualify for new claims. This method would be more accepted politically because there would be no obvious reduction to existing vet benefits.

In October I got a letter from the VA stating that my ptsd rating was going back down to 50% beginning 1-1-25. Since receiving that letter I have called the VA twice a month every month trying to understand why the decrease. No one has been able to give me a definitive answer, this includes talking to supervisors. All they would say was they would send a ‘service request’ to find out why the decision. Unfortunately for me my overall rating has dropped from 80 to 60% and no reason for this. I hate dealing with this organization 😢

People who criticize a Republicans for cutting back on veterans healthcare 10 to forget the fact that the last odious and unjust bill which prevents private doctors and private DBQ’s being used as an Nexus for their service connections was sponsored by none other than a Democrat senator tester! Now that is not to say that I blame only Democrats I blame both political parties because the vote that was just taken taking away our right to have a private Doctor Who is clinically and occupationally qualified to diagnose and make Nexus connections was sponsored by Democrat, and taken on a vote, which means their names are not recorded! This coming from a group of individuals who had many, many years to make it illegal to do insider stock trading on the stock market! One look no farther than Nancy Pelosi, who came into office with not that much money and now has hundreds of millions in stocks, but I’m sure this has nothing to do with insider stock trading! so both political parties love to cut us back and give themselves pay raises if you’re sitting in Congress for only a few years, you were locked into a beautiful pension and medical system. Please stop being played by both political parties. They’re just two gangs veterans must be united for America. @@margaretsmith6097 actually, you missed the point. My point is dental healthcare should be accessible to all veterans who served honorably this country. Many years ago, the American medical Association established the fact that bacteria built upon teeth in the form of plaque breaking off, could go directly into critical internal systems of human body, such as the heart many veterans not having cleaned teeth and not having medical insurance sadly having this happened to them whereby pieces of plaque, breaking off, going into their internal system, such as the heart but then having to go into a V.a. hospital whereby tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of dollars would be spent trying to save the veteran who could not afford basic dental healthcare. And of course, this could’ve been prevented by simple, basic dental cleaning and proper maintenance of teeth.

    Hi Clay! Wasn’t sure how to do a private message but reaching out to see if you can direct me-gave an online person almost $900 to ‘help’ me get disability rating. After about two days after payment, I had buyer’s remorse and felt I could do this myself. Requested a refund and was told his family was expecting a baby and really needed money, etc. etc. no refund would be given. are there any agencies out there that could help in this type of situation? Thank you!

    Actually Clay this may can help the VA employees to actually know which and what they are dealing with. I am not saying veterans should not be compensated for certain conditions but it helps streamline. Clay by making it more specific would help the VA employees deliver better care. Of course I am only speaking about those who have a genuine earnest commitment to helping people with the hand up onto better things if they become able. In my opinion it pin points it more. So I am not against what they are trying to do but they should not just totally strip veterans either of compensation when they have no other livelihood.

  • @angelajohnson4666
    @angelajohnson4666 3 дні тому

    Oh they do need to shift from the symptoms. They truly do because this will give a more accurate diagnosis . Although some of the symptoms are components of one condition. They sometimes believe if the obvious is no longer present that thjs whole condition is in remission. And that is not the case. Then they just start destroying veterans because they believe they should no longer be receiving compensation or whatever. And that is not the case. Some of these conditions may have the underlying and thjs could still exist even though the other symptoms have improved or are no longer present. They do not have a way to measure this. Their imaging does not measure this because it does not take into account the environmental factors surrounding the veterans. For example the PsyD will be the only healthcare professional who will include both the theory and the output and the environmental impact on the veteran. When they send a person to neurology they only do imaging or medications. This does not determine the real life application in the moment.
    Because the imaging and neurological are passive determinations. They are not in real time. Even AI cannot get into the real time. Because the human body is absolutely abstract particularly the brain.

    Yes. I do agree with your theory. I believe that through regulation change the VA will make it more difficult for those making new claims to be rated correct and or establish service connection in the first place if the VA decides to unpublish DBQs. However, that leaves one final group of vets to be dealt with and that is those that may already have established ratings with the VA. What tactics do you think will be used to reduce this last group during this impending era of fiscal austersity?

    • @kristheobserver

    This and many other changes coming down the line seem to me to be focused on decreasing costs and increasing the labor pool by making it harder to retire.
    The government doesn't like too small a labor pool as it drives up labor costs and population projections show decreasing numbers in the future.
    Hence, Roe vs Wade overturned, states outlawing abortion, push decreasing Social Security and increase the age to receive it, make things more expensive to require people to work longer. All have one goal, decrease the size of the pool of people not working and increase the workforce...

      Spot on clay and thanks for letting us know. Whether we like it or not as well, they are changing the goal posts. I remember watching in the 70s how hard our Vietnam brothers and sister veterans struggled as they denied Agent Orange connection. Whether we like it or not the federal legislation that was just passed, had hidden within it things like denying private doctor diagnoses and DBQ’s in favor of less qualified individuals at the VA or hired by the VA and rating veteran service connections.
      But do not forget that the veterans administration has lobby to specifically lobby, Congress, and do not forget that this last legislation on denying private DBQ’s with private, medically, qualified and clinically qualified doctors was voted for with a voice vote, whereby their votes were not recorded by their name. Of course this is no accident.

    The VA may need to get with SSA (Social Security Administration) and work out some kind of mathematical formula to have SSA allocate to VETS a percentage of money perhaps, after all, Veterans pay SSA. I know Veterans can receive SSA, but the Federal Budget, is the Federal Budget, and without that all volunteer force we have today to protect the Nation, then what America do we really have?
