Reminds me a bit of Roll in One, but doesn't look as good I don't think. Thing I love about Roll in One is that you always have your full bag of clubs (unless a player plays a power that takes one of the clubs out for the round) and each club is represented by a different die. The driver for example is a D20 and is numbered 1-10 with the remaining sides being triangles. A shot is rolling the die, moving a space, then rolling again. As long as you keep rolling higher values or triangles you can keep rolling, if you roll same or lower value your ball is said to have landed and either stops dead or moves one extra space if you land on the fairway. It's a really neat mechanic and lends to some strategy for picking the right club. You can be scuppered by unlucky rolling of course, but then you get those turns where you're miles behind and keep rolling exactly what you need, powering up the course. It's cracking and a lot more fun than the box would lead you to believe. Recommended if you haven't tried it.
The chief complaint (i.e. The ball didn't go where I wanted it to go) pretty much reflects my experience with actual golf. And, if you play like i do, chucking your clubs in the bin (or in the pond, or across the fairway) isn't as far-fetched as it first seems.
Love the theme but you nailed it: takes way too long to set-up (and break down, if you don't do it in an organized way you'll be spending way LONGER next time) for a have that doesn't have a ton of choice or decisions. Feels like the prototype to a digital game really.
Slightly disappointed the Faldo jumper wasn't worn for your review. Maybe the game didn't deserve it. I'd have to agree with it not feeling very thematic. I don't mind abstractions, as I'm generally not looking for a simulation game, but most of the game mechanisms used have no thematic justification, making them feel odd/clumsy. I can accept that more in a crazy golf themed game, as that's a theme that thrives on being somewhat absurd.
I will like comment and subscibe, because you referred to it as all the stupid bullshit you have to do and say these days wether you like it or not. Also love the style of your reviews.
The idea of playing a golf board game sounds so simple and so appealing, and yet no designer has really been able to make it work well as of yet. Maybe it's better to just go outside and go to an actual golf course instead of trying to recreate it on your dining room table.
Good alternative title for that sauna game
It’s the spin off stand alone version. There’s also a straight sauna spin-off “18 hoes”.
You sir are by far the best board game reviewed out there. Keep up the good work
Cheers geezer 👍🏻
The reference to Rocco is an absolute classic
😂👍🏻
I love this channel.

Was thinking about it as it’s cheap…might have to grab a copy
@@BoardGameBollocks Do it mate, treat yourself. Would be interested to hear your thoughts if you do
The expansion adds a putting push your luck dice mechanic to the mix.

Haha…right answer 👍🏻

You’re right…not quite on par with Pringle sweaters.

There is eff all in life that golf can't ruin.
Best way to spoil a good walk
Do each of the holes come with a name and a kink?
Ummm…
I used to like 3m Thinking Mans Golf (being a thinking man) but generally these sports games are better as video games.
Leaderboard Atari ST…my kids thought it was a model of cooker.
It looks like setting up Twilight Imperium then playing Dominion. 😂

Bad back…
1, 2, 5 players only? What about 4-5?
I’ve played it with 4 so that’s a bit weird.
Rocco Siffredi! 😂
You know who he is then? 😂😂😂
@@BoardGameBollocks Of course we know, he's big!
First Gay Sauna, now this. What’s with the fascination with holes lately?😂
I don’t know what you mean…
