I have also tried using an electric filleting knife for uncapping honey frames. I wanted it to work well but ended up just being faster with a conventional decapping knife. A conventional knife would only take a few seconds to uncap your frame and would be easier on your wrist vs holding the electric knife like you have shown. I only have 4 hives but we extract about 40 boxes or about 1200 lbs of honey a year in this method.

Wow! I'll have to give that a try. Did you use a serrated bread knife?

@@BearBehindApiaryMaple-rg8dn, if you google "serrated uncapping knife" you will see that its similar to a bread knife but it has an offset handle, has teeth on both sides, is wider and a little longer than a bread knife.

So I have been thinking about buying the 3 in 1 extractor like that and wondering if you liked it or would you go a different route if you did it over again?

I do like it. It's kinda big, but if you have the space I think you'll be happy. Cleaning isn't hard, but does take a bit of hot water & time to dry
      Here's the longer video: ua-cam.com/video/RgnvSLAun3E/v-deo.html
