yooo just finished the vid, greatly enjoyed. It gave me a lot to think about. When I was watching the regionals, I think I intuitively knew that Vit still could do better, but I was in so much awe of Kcorps playing (and impressed by BDS n GentM8s) that I didn't give it much thought. I think back to how poor geng looked in regional 1's finals and questioned my own eye tests. It can be really hard to tell if a team is playing poorly or a team is made to look worse because the opponent's pressure makes even the most stalwart players and teams look shakey.
@orangeporridge1553 wasn't able to watch it but yes geng beat g2, eventually. What I was referring to was how many wiffs and double commits they had in the first regional, and i'm wondering how much of that was their own poor play and how much was just the pressure from g2 that forced them to play badly.
Great video as always - however, in the goal discussed at 11:00 onwards, I believe Zen turning upfield is the right decision. He's playing his role as extension, making himself available as a passing option until the play fails. If Alpha wins that 50 but Zen isn't there, the offensive push just dies. It's Zen's job to play best case scenario. With that in mind, I think the problem here is Radosin's line to third man. At the very start of the play, he rotates near post and completely butchers the spacing. Pause at 11:09 and look where everybody is. Then he realizes he fucked up, has to double back, and never has a good angle to challenge. If Rado just goes back post here instead, he has a much better angle if he chooses to challenge. He'll be challenging the ball head on and have a much easier time dictating how he forces for Zen rotating back. Ideally, he forces pass mid, but if all he can do is force high to backboard, Zen is ahead of M8s' midfield option, so he should be able to be first to that. You could also argue Rado should wait for Zen to cut and force for him (Assuming Zen has enough boost to get up, I think like this better). In this scenario, it's still easier if Rado rotates to back post and isolates as third. If Zen forces the pass infield, it's an easy interception from back post. If Zen forces the shot properly, it's being forced high, where Rado can drive up the wall and possess as it comes to him on the backboard. In both of these scenarios, if the challenger can't force high regardless of whether it's Zen or Rado and Itachi goes under him (presumably with a reset still available)... well sometimes you just get balled.
Yea you make some good points. I agree that Zen does need to stay down field to be an option for Alpha in case he does in the ball, but I think driving up the wall there is unnecessary to accomplish that goal and only stands to put him in worse spot. If the there was defender near zen in this play, then he probably would have to drive up the wall so he would be high enough to beat that defender to the ball. But at the time of the challenge, all 3 M8's are above the halfway line, so that threat isn't there for him. If he stays on the ground and alpha wins the 50 he will still have no problem reaching the ball well before any defender. Driving up the wall just skews the risk vs reward of this play out of their favor imo. And in Radosin's case, he's really in a tough spot either way because regardless of what he does there's a way he can get taken advantage of. I do agree that if he made his rotation back to net wider so that he came from the far post then he would've had a better shot at the contesting, but he was already done with his rotation by the time the ball got to him, so he would've had to slow down and kill his momentum before the challenge anyways, which makes it that much harder. At least here if Itachi tries to take it himself then he's in a position to play shadow defense Plus if Radosin does go far post then 1, he isn't able to grab the corner boost to help him in the play, and 2, juicy is rotating through the net, and a radosin coming from the far post is an easier bump target than radosin is in this play, and even if juicy doesn't get the demo, it would be enough to adjust his positioning to be less advantageous for him, which could possibly be enough to negate the positives of being far post anyways. So yea while I agree with you on the far post rotation, it's a tough situation either way. And Zen just picked up the side boost coming back, so he would have enough boost to cut in if he wanted to, but itachi is so far ahead of the play and has so much control already that it would be very hard for Zen to make an impact before the damage is done. But at this point there isn'y much of a way for Zen to impact the play otherwise, so yea he might as well go for it. Really appreciate your insightful comment
@@ButteryHotness you raise a great point about Zen not needing to be on the wall since M8s were so pushed up. Honestly, on second watch I think his best option is to re-wrap behind Alpha and play a slower second man in midfield. He’ll be in a better position if the 50 goes mid, if it goes to the corner he’s still probably first to it because his momentum is heading that way and M8s’ is not, and if the 50 is lost he isn’t quite as extended. As for Rado, I think he could’ve made his life easier with better threat identification. Totally agree that he arrived ahead of the optimal challenge timing and that caused his awkwardness. If I had to guess, the reason he rotates with so much haste is because he misidentifies the 50 loss as a threat on net. If he correctly identified the loss as going to the corner, he probably would’ve taken his time to go back post - at which point he could’ve wrapped even wider and had a better angle to make his challenge line harder for Juicy to read if he chooses to stay grounded. He also has the option to pre-backboard. Obviously, he does this in the actual clip, and obviously, pre-backboarding is almost always suboptimal, but doing it from back post is… less suboptimal at least? Additionally, as you mentioned, the play is slow enough to develop that Rado actually has to stop and wait for his challenge timing, so a wider wrap to maintain momentum is probably optimal even if the demo threat didn’t exist. As for the corner boost, if the field was literally empty, and that 12 he grabs on his way back was all that was up, then I’m okay with the corner boost grab because it’s tough sledding either way. However, assuming he rotates back with literally any boost, you only need 38 boost to get to the ceiling with a perfect double jump aerial, and anybody can get it with 41 boost with 10/10 consistency. Almost certainly only 3 pads needed, and with the one 12 he picks up, if he wraps wide back post he can probably grab the one on the bottom right and the one that’s just offscreen beyond it, and he can get to the ceiling. Regardless, at the end of the day, I’m sitting here nitpicking a single mistake on a single goal born out of a complicated situation, which really just speaks to how good these guys are. All this analysis comes with the grain of salt that every team in RLCS plays at a level far beyond what I’m capable of 99% of the time, and I’m armchair critiquing the 1%. Thanks for taking the time to respond!
Definitely. It’s hard to quantify the exact impact a coach is having without knowing the conversations they have behind closed doors, but there’s no doubt that losing Ferra had an impact on them
THE GOAT IS BACK

Who made that thumbnail? It looks really good!
Also I love how you were able to dissect Vita's communication problems. They look totally in shambles!!

good video
first time seeing you but you are talanted
I agree with you on Lebron, it seems silly that most people do not share that view. He’s like what Shaq could have been with a harder work ethic.
It's obviously Zens hair. That perm had to have had a +100 buff to all stats, right?
Let's see how they do today and if they make it to Sunday. KC all the way tho lmao.
You may have found what they are doing but not why - clearly a ferra diff
