- Installing the Sure Shot fuel injector relocation block on your KTM TPI 2 stroke. Yes it's a long video. But this is all you need to know about installing the fuel injector relocation block for the 2020 and 22 KTM, HUSQVARNA and GAS GAS TPI bikes. It is the smartest thing you can do to protect your engine and deliver a simple power increase

Thanks Dave for saving my new KTM's life ! Your injector block is
well thought out. I appreciate the honest work! Keep up the great work!
Glad to help
Awesome design - like this setup!
I installed your kit on my 2021 TX300i and I am extremely happy with it so far! I had 60 hours on the bike prior with only the idle adjustment screw modification, and air screw set at about 1 turn out. Stock plug was a BR7ES and it looked rich when I replaced it with a BR8ES. The Bike always had a Flat spot up high in the powerband and I usually shifted it up before I hit that area. Now it has more power off idle (airscrew at 2.5-3 turns out) and WAY more on Top and it lost that flat spot up high. It must Rev out 500 RPMs more (no Tach, so I don't know).
The Bike runs like a 300 Carb (Keihin) bike now. The only thing I have noticed is a "Pipe Bang" type sound (like backfiring, sort of) when I close the throttle.
Elevation here is about 500' and temps are cold at 40-50 degrees F. FYI.
Curious about this Pipe Banging and what it means? Not a big issue--just annoying.
I also did notice that fuel consumption is better now. I am putting an once of pre-mix oil in the gas per gallon and it runs fine. Stock head and ECU are being used.
Very curious to see how well this would run with the TSP performance head and ecu
Carls cycle in Idaho buys 10 at a time of these and sets all their bikes up with this, so of their porting and a TSR head. The do or don't do the programming, depending on customers wants
Anyone actually done the relocation block with the TSP set up?
Do you still mix oil in have you had any trouble?
Always add oil. KM want's a mix of 60:1 on carb bikes but oil injection only gives 80:1. Add one once of oil to each gallon of gas in the tank always. That's 2 oz total going in there and that's 60:1. Even if the oil pump goes out, you'll be getting home
will that kits work with vforce reed ?
It can but it pushes the block back to far and the intact tract length gets to long. You loose response then
How do I reach you?

I'm just installed mine bike feels great. I've got a bit of a hanging idle so I need to adjust the air bypass. I just wanted to know if this is common. I also have the TSP M head and remap.
Thanks
Hi, did you ever get an answer to this ?
Will this kit work on a 2019 tpi?
Yes
Good day. I have a question. I like to install this and then eliminate the oil pump and use premix.. have you done it ??
Man. I bet when KTM sees this they'll buy this for all the bikes! Thank you for figuring out their flaws. I'm going to stop riding mine and call the dealer, have this done asap. You're a genius!
Or they will change the engine for ‘23 and include BNG….enticing everyone to buy new bikes.
@@719vol LOL. KTM did no changes for the 2023 bikes. Uggg.
Hello, great job you done, I'm using this solution and it's great! I have small question, My friend have tsp head + remap ecu, and still he want's to install inj relocation kit to his bike, but we are not sure it is okay. What do you thing ? we have no chance to remap ecu, that means that we have what we have, we just want's to set up inj rel kit, but not sure it is ok. Hope for your answer, thanks!
Yes it's fine. Many do that
Since your injecting fuel oil into the bottom end now....why can't you premix say 32:1 and also do away with the oil injection?
You can try, but you start unplugging those sensors, and the bike will just shut down
What shitty oil are you using bthat recommends 32.1? 😂 1985 called and said to wake up haha
Very interesting and tempting!! Im concerned about the engine management/tuning with this relocation and the stock ECU/stock maps, I would assume the relocation effects mapping/tuning? Also Is there any LOSS in low end stalling, low end power delivery?
Great solution/great looking product!
Thanks, Jason
Yes the best part of scientific testing with the air fuel meter and dyno, proves all is just fine. It doesn't seem to matter when the fuel squirts in, because it doesn't need to be timed anymore. It all mixes together in the reedcage and moves through the engine when it's needed. Just like any carb 2 stroke. Pretty cool
Hi , ive just bought my first 300 tpi , coming off carb . i plan to do this mod . But before i go out on my first ride . You suggest i premix my petrol aswel as the oil tank topped up to max .
premix 30ml of oil to every 5 litres of petrol to be on the safe side . Cheers
This is really interesting 👌🏻 but makes s lot of sense
I placed an order on your website and I haven't received an email confirmation or shipping. Any updates?
You have it and love it
Always trying to make TPI bikes run like carbureted bikes. Waiting to see the carb conversion kit.
Should have never have changed from carb bikes
Do you need to refresh the ecu with this kit or can you run the standard mapping?
Standard mapping is great on 2020-22 bikes
Its like the goulash 🤣
All you do is complain about these bikes , work on another brand
They don't need work
He's not complaining to complain. He's finding solutions
On my 2022 KTM 300 XC TPI the top shock bolt needs to be removed to tilt the shock rearward so that the intake rubber from the air filter housing can be fitted back onto the throttle body as the shock spring interferes. This is due to the thickness of your fuel injector block.
How did your oil line from the pump to throttle body fit, route? Mine rubs on your fuel injector block?
My KTM ran poorly from day 1 and then seized at 7.2 and 7.4 hours. After the 2nd seizure KTM installed a complete new case motor and oil pump.
I am now installling your split injector fueling block (right side injector being relocated into your block.
Well if you just have the normal set up, you can't get more than about 1400 rpm with the air screw. If you use the injector relocation block and tpi screw, then you can turn up as high as you want
It turns tpi to tbi?
Installing on my 21 gas gas 300 right now with the injector plug it feels like I can’t get it tight enough I can only get it so tight continues to spin is this normal
You can just put a small screwdriver between plug and hole to hold it
Greetings from Latin America.
I am curious to install this system on my 2019 tpi 250 motorcycle, do you think a reprogramming is necessary because I want to change the kit to 300cc? !! I appreciate your response
You would need to reprogram when going from 250 to 300, with or without this block
hi, ive just bought this item off you and also souced a pre tpi rebuild kit including the barrel as you spoke about people changing to pre tpi barrels at the start. i have received the barrel and noticed that it doesnt have a provision for the crank case pressure sensor......... is there a way around this because i believe the bike wont run without this..... i have also emailed you.
You'd put a hole in the barrel like the stock one or the case and install a fitting for the line
Seems to be simple and clever solution. Would be interesting to know why KTM R&D engineers didn't chose this solution when developing FI solution. It is even more simmilar to carb version. Must be a reason for it.
To pass emissions in Europe and be able to sell the 2 strokes there. They have the 2023 bikes coming with the injectors in the throttle body, to fix all the issues that this does. Probably just won't be for sale in Europe
Dyno results please!!!

Last pic. It's the extra top end over rev. Better on bottom too and same all the way up
congrats, very simple, you give me a good reason to buy TPI
How much is the kit, and are a lot of guys putting them on?
$150 and over 700 sold
Does the kit come with a new fuel hose union to distribute fuel to each injector or do you reuse the stock one?
Reuse 2 of the stock ones
would love to order the kit but you're out of stock. any timeframe when you are going to have more.
June 1-5th
ordered it. installed it. runs great. thanks.
Will a 17’ carb 300 cylinder work on a 22’?
With some modification yes
Why do you still use the oil injection pump. Couldnt you ditch it and run it on premix.
Maybe. I don't want the liability though of telling people to ditch their pump if something goes wrong. Have to leave that one to the individual
@@ktmhusky ,greetings Dave further to this if some one wanted to try this ie remove the lube pump / tank etc and run premix what do you see as a possible issue ? Do you think the injectors / ecu could handle 50 :1 premix ? Purely hypothetical question ,
Cheers Derek .injector block =👍👍
Does this apply to a 18' XC-W model?
Yes
Excellent idea!
Thank you! Cheers!
Is it possible to use a vforce reed valve with this relocation block?
No. You have to use the one half of the stock block.
wonder if this available for TM efi unit?
Maybe but we don't make one for it
So what do you do with the fuel hoses to make them fit? Thanks
It's in the instructions
@@ktmhusky It was very easy to install in the end great product 👍🏽
After installation this kit, dyno needed?
No.
Does this apply to the 2019 KTM 300 XC-W?
It would work but doesn't clear the oil pump
So I guess it doesn't work for a 18' XCW TOI?
Good Stuff!
Need change ecu maps?
No
I was convinced by this video to buy the relocation block for my 2022 300 xcw, installed it, with immediate regret.
Went back and confirmed that there were no leaky gascets etc.
What makes the tpi great in my opinion is the ability to ride with wide open throttle on low revs over technical terrain, and take advantage of that low end torq.
The bike started bogging and overfueling, dont get me wrong, maby it increases top end power(doesnt at all feel like it), and it would help guys doing wide open stuff, but it did not help or improve my use case at all.
Luckey me I can refund the bracket as I got it from Takealot in South Africa.
Dont think KTM as a company would release a product with such major defects as accused of. This cant improve the combustion process as much if logically the same ammount of fuel etc gets introduced to the cycle, just at a location further away from the combustion chamber.
Just had to add my 10c as this wasted allot of my time.
Keep on riding!
I think considering the fact that we have never sold anything to South Africa, as we won't ship there, that you got one of the rip off products out there. You are correct in that the. fueling passages are not correct on the copy cats and you will have running issues. Thanks for letting everyone know to stick with the real deal. Over 700 sold and few complaints. That's not bad
