At the time I'm writing this, 990 Swiss francs is 915€. Just to save everyone else the time it takes to google it. Also, that's ridiculous. Takes like a short afternoon and probably less than 200€ to just build it yourself. It's literally just like 4 2x4s, two pieces of plywood and some climbing holds.
+nerfzinet ....add the cost of a router & bits, circular saw, jigsaw, drill & bits and you get a lot closer. Also, most people don't have the know-how or skill to build something like that. Of course he's trying to make money, but it's not an obscene price for what it is. It's pretty similar to what you would expect to pay for any handmade furniture that hasn't been churned out on a massive production line.
+nerfzinet And it looks the part as well, It doesn't look like something someone put together as a comerical product to me but rather a bunch of wood from a hardware store turned into a climbing wall,
@@rjfc2 for the first one. You don't need a router, or most of what you mentioned, they are 2 full size plywood sheets, you can cut the 2x4 with a hand saw that costs very little, at most you need a drill, which you can pick up for so cheap. And the amount of vlogs and literature online makes doing it yourself possible for anyone, Walls like this are borderline extortionate.
Honestly nearly 6000 Euro!!!!, I built an adjustable angle 8x12f foot training wall in the Philippines of all places for about £120. In the UK it would be about £180 with local prices, minus holds granted but even then it would be a snip compared to the wall shown. With the savings I could get a 10 year climbing gym membership, do numerous scrambling trips in the UK and pay for some quality coaching and still have change for new equipment..
+heli400 I do like the design on the second one. Really easy to build it seems. Just have to make sure you get some high quality lumber though, no cheap pine for something bearing weight like that.
I bought the smaller torque trainer shown with a few customization's (full back panel, collapsible posts) and I couldn't be happier with it. Sure you could go to local home improvement store and build your own less but I doubt you'll come close to the craftsmanship of these. If you have the cash and serious about training it's well worth it.
lol, that's outrageously expensive for something I can make myself for less than $200 (mind you, it'd be made mostly out of wood since the holds are expensive and drilling through rocks without breaking them is challenging). It's not even tall enough to be worth having at any amount of money either. Keep in mind that the first 2 feet of a climbing wall really doesn't get used very much unless you start at a seated position. So what looks to be a 10 foot wall only really has 8 feet typically being used... me being 6 feet tall... completely pointless wall. Why not just sell the holds and an affordable soft mat and show ppl how they can turn their regular home walls into a safe climbing wall? Show ppl that they have a choice to make their own and that it isn't at all difficult to make. At least then, they won't feel ripped off, they make interesting use of their home walls, it's a fun project to work on and they'll feel much more motivated and proud to use it, it doesn't consume a ridiculous amount of space in their homes, etc...
lol... really? You're an anonymous douche on the internet, it'd be no different than if someone said they'd pay me a million to build them one. Besides, I have every intention of building one for myself... just need to find a place to put it.
turgsh01 testy. I think his point is there’s no way you could build something like this for $200. You’d spent about that much on the holds alone, get real. 6k is absurd though....and he knew it as he said it.
Built my own woody for 200 bucks. They should post more DIY Vids rather than showing these outrageously priced walls.
Do you have any progress pictures?

I started designing a modular climbing tower yesterday, had similar ideas in mind.
Awesomeness!!

An adjustable, self supporting, mobile wall including grips? come on...
They are expensive because it’s expensive to run a business

It's maybe 7 years ago but do you have the websites?
This looks like a great learning tool. Next step: DIY drawings
For 6000 euros, i can open a small climbing gym in my country, seriously..
so whats the point of the bottom half of the wall? i didnt watch past the first one
expensive much??
You could by all of the tools and materials to make these for waaaay less. Then you get tools and something that's custom built to fit your space.
and how much will this cost?? "5 trillion dollars..." or you can build one yourself for less than $500

I pay you 400 dollars if you make me such a wall :P

I was actually pretty serious... No offence taken though. Unlike you I am using my real name btw.
