Wow...we are later today...dad had an appointment! It looks fabulous!!!! Great job!!!! Take care of each other in the cold. Loved this video!!!!! Love Mom & Dad 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Hopefully you will be dried in before the rainy season down pours on you. Very exciting progress for the proud homeowners and craftsmanship as always. Now I have to wait until next week to see the next round. 😎
Your property is in such a beautiful setting. It is hard to tell from the videos how much higher the house site is from the stream flowing by your property. With all the extreme weaher events the world has been having recently, what is the chance of flooding from the stream? Lots of hard work to get to this point in the build. I know you will be glad to get it dried in. Wishing you both good health and good weather in the New Year.
@@cchambers8632 Thanks very much for the kind words! There is very much a chance of flooding : ) The start of our build was held up while a study was conducted in the area to assess the issue. The engineering firm took lidar scans of the bathymetry of several river systems in the "neighbourhood" and then projected a once in a hundred year flood volume. The data they collected was used to determine building restrictions and requirements. It's the reason we've used a pier and beam foundation without a basement. In general we have been rounding up a little on code here and there. Larger nails in some cases, narrower spacing for sheathing. We most definitely do not want to underestimate what seems to be coming our way in this part of the world. Thanks again for watching! All the best.
