Great video again Olly. Since my op I am now an armchair walker, but it is always enjoyable to follow your walks on you tube, keep at it and always enjoy the adventure.👍
Great to see you near the Lugg Olly. If you were on Glyndwr's Way you would have come past Pool Hill it's source and then dropped down. Lovely country there. And yeah I'd be angry if I learnt about Glyndwr later. Wow, me and Paul walked Forest Wood on the Lugg walk. We've stood at the entrance sign to. Brilliant that and had a break at the foot of Llan Fawr. I was hoping you'd do Hergest but you must have been tired. Well, a successful trip. Good going. Mark
Hi Mark, It looks like Pool Hill was still a bit further on from my route, near Stanky Hill. But good know the source is there. I did think about exploring those hills but it wasn't near the top of my list. The next morning, it was raining constantly from the early hours. I packed all my gear away, including a wet tent. Mist was limiting the visibility so, I'm saving Hergest Ridge for another trip. Hope you have a good week. Thanks for watching and all the best
Good afternoon Olly, funnily enough Kat has been talking about doing this trail, certainly visiting and investigating sections of it. Loved your video found it a very interesting watch and great to look back on the other routes you had completed too. The signage situation is a bit of a bugger, guess it helps keep your wits about you 🧭🗺 Such a lush green place, really looks ideal for an escape and recharge, maybe not at the campsite you stayed with though. Thank you for sharing you experience with us, have a good week, Ceri and Kat ☕👍♥️
Hi Ceri and Kat, Glad you enjoyed the video and good to hear that Kat is interested in this trail. I think the campsite itself was fine and I don't wish to paint a poor picture of it; it was just a couple of the other guests. Although I do turn up to these places alone, where couples and groups may more more onlivious. :-) Thanks for watching and hope you have a good week.
Thank you, good views came in an abundance that weekend. There was so much to admire about it all. I've just been to the Brecon Beacons today and hope to have that video up in a week or two. Thank you for watching. All the best and I hope yours has been good.
Really enjoy your videos Olly, nicely produced and narrated. I've spent most of my time walking in the north of england so most of your destinations are very new to me - certainly giving me ideas for the future. You also mentioned you may consider the Cleveland Way this year - I've just completed this walk - I really enjoyed the contrasts of moorland and coastal walking. It's also extremely well marked no frustrations of blocked paths that you've seen on your weekend away. Anyway, if you have any questions please just ask. Thanks again for taking the time and effort to make and post your videos.
Thank you, Martin. I appreciate that. I've not explored very much of the north by comparison. Indeed, I'm still aiming to do it next month... I'm trying to sort out the logistics, how far I'll walk each day and where I can camp. Did you camp along the way?
@@WalksWithOlly Yes - I used campsites rather than wild camping and took a leisurely 8 days ( 7 nights camping). The Cleveland Way guide from Trailblazer is very helpful, not only in route planning and logistics but information about the area, floura and fauna etc.
Good distance covered & lovely views along the route despite the lack of signage at certain points. Better luck with future campsites, seems like you’ve had a few unfortunate experiences recently ATB xx
Hi Rachel, I'd definitely stay at this campsite again and a part of me feels as though I could be more confident in following these 'unmarked' routes. There must be local people who know them and do it. But self-confidence and self-esteem are two big areas that I really struggle with. I've been looking at going away in August as I haven't done "enough" this year and I'd usually avoid that month for reasons of busy-ness... We'll see. Maybe if I can scrounge some midweek time off. Hope you're doing well. Thanks for watching, as always and have a good week. :-)

Thank you. I'm looking at doing it in 7 days. Was hoping for only six but it seems impractical with the campsites.
