Hello, I have glued German Glass onto a DIY dirty pour canvas. How do I seal the german glass so it tiny pieces will not fall off over time? I don't want to impede the beautiful shiny glass. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

Good morning, Pam. Unfortunately the best way to keep glass glitter from falling off is by using a very good adhesive product. When using glass glitter on pieces such as artwork/canvas, you don't run the risk of random people touching it over time, so the glass glitter falling off doesn't ever seem to be a problem for me. I have test sealed GGG with mod podge, elmers and even bar top epoxy. All of them had to be applied thickly in order to be depth to encapsulate the glitter, but all of them totally eliminated the shine. I would never seal it again because in 7 years, I really haven't found any reason to seal that wasn't fixed by what was used to apply it. NOW...with that being said, your glass glitter WILL tarnish eventually because it's pure silver. Oxygen will patina the shine to a vintage, mercury glass look, so just be aware that your art piece will evolve overtime due to the nature of the silver. Hope this helps!!! xo -Brooklyn

Love this idea! So original! You mention a custom mix of glass glitter - what grits do you use?

I can't find any sample of using a heat gun to "melt" the german glitter as you mention in this video...can you send me the link if you have it? Thanks!

I am baffled why you would put glitter on furniture. Glitter eventually flakes off, and if it is glass shards wouldn't it injure someone? Just confused

deb fullwood It's gorgeous. When you use wood glue with a bit of fine saw dust and then sprinkle the glass onto the leg, it stays forever. Typical aluminum glitter that bends and flexes does typically flake off. I really prefer my glass glitters because of the quality and durability. Would recommend glittering legs in a baby nursery of small kids room, but man, details and legs that sparkle like diamonds are like magic in the right space. Hope you have a great day/week!! -Brooklyn

As much as I love glitter, I'll pass having it on furniture.
