Idk. I heard one story speculate the utes did kill the Spanish at chicken creek and then buried whatever they had. Similar stories exist. Look at chief kanosh in central Utah. He said he lost many of his braves to Fighting the Spanish as they mined near where he lived. The golden Christ and other items down by grand stair case national monument was Native Americans driving the Spanish out and killing the donkeys and burying whatever loot there was or hid it in caves. But ya I suppose it’s hard to tell the truth to such old stories as many could be white men dressed up robbing the Spanish to it could be the natives actually doing it.
