This is so bittersweet for the family, knowing Shirlene is coming home, but the realisation she's gone must hurt so much.
I hope her family are coping and can finally start to heal.
    Sleep well, Shirlene RIP

I grew up in the quitman area and my grandmother told me the story about this case. I didn't get to see the grave until I was 14. My brother and I were going somewhere to do some brotherly stuff and that's when he and I stopped at the oak hill cemetery where the body was buried and I saw the carved image of her face on the grave stone. I said
"This poor woman. I can't imagine or understand why she had to die a horrible death." My brother replied "well the world is a dark, cruel and evil place." Then we left.
Many years later, I went back to the cemetery for the first time since then and placed a few roses on the grave to pay my respects and I said "we may not know each other, but it would've been an honor to meet you."

I cry because my daughter didn't come one day. My youngest daughter and I got in the car and drove until we found her. The thought of never seeing her again would be devastating.

The killer was found living in a trailer. They saw the weapons he used to kill her and he wouldn't give up her name even though they found dna of him on her body. Which shows he definitely murdered her. Most likely raped her too. Breaks my heart. R.I.P. to Shirlene. She didnt deserve what happened to her.

I am happy for her sister's as well, hopefully they will see their sister's killer caught with all the new advancements in technology. The most important thing is that Shirl is home now and her family never has to wonder where she is, or if she is suffering ever again. 🙏🏻👼🏼

I’m so thankful the family has their beloved back home with them. Knowing she is back home and resting nearby will help them begin to heal. It helps when you can visit their grave to spend that quiet moment with them sending them love. I’m so sorry for their loss.

Grief is a lifetime long thing for most people who have lost someone or something precious . You don't choose to re-live the trauma and pain... its just an unfortunate side effect that comes alongside loss .... healing isn't linear either and takes different forms.... clearly you have very little empathy or compassion.
