Putting somebody in jail for life for a crime they did not commit has to be worse than taking their life because they have to sit in there knowing they didn’t do anything, suffering, the pain, emotions, and the take a toll on them and that’s sad how the judicial system is

Your absolutely correct about you have to be careful and even then stuff can happen to you even if you aren't doing anything. My husband and his brother traveled to Oklahoma to see their family and visit for a while and on their way back to Texas were stopped by some cops and were told they pulled them over because their car matched a description of a car that been seen in the area that was running drugs. My husband was in the passenger seat and he said a cop stood by his window the entire time with his hand on his gun that was in his gun belt. Thankfully they made it home ok but anything could have happened. Something also that I don't think is taken into account enough is people that are just randomly stopped the cops have no idea if that person has any medical condition that could make them act out. This is the case with my husband about 5 years ago he had a tumor in his brain that had hemorrhaged and he almost died from but it was removed successfully but he did have some brain damage in the area where the tumor was that hasn't left him the same because that area that was damaged he will sometimes get upset over things that doesn't make any sense that normal people would get angry about and he will lash out sometimes not anything physically to hurt anyone but if he were to do that in a cops presence I dont think the situation would end well.

Most likely the state they were in, and the backing the innocent person had on release. The second guy probably had one of those big pro bono guys finding the truth out for him and getting him freed, thus the cushy little parting gift (that probably 20% of went to the pro bono guy, but that's still a nice cushion to fall into), while the first guy got release because new evidence was suddenly found for some unknown reason (no backer involved). But, that lawsuit he's got goin will go thru, betcha .

Yeah he beat me but i felt he only did because he was told to by his girlfriend who btw only got like 300 days in jail. The only way i could show my hurt at the sentencing was by play "lie like that" by kid kenzi. And when i heard voice i swear it felt like needles just stabbing at my chest. I was in a situation similar to some of these. And I understand completely what you meant by it’s the worst feeling to know you’re innocent but everyone involved thinks otherwise. I am a 19 year old black kid. I had this German girlfriend. Blonde, green eyes all innocent looking. She got mad at me for hugging a girl best friend Bc she was going through some things. And I was trying to comfort her. And my gf at the time saw that. And instead of asking me for an explanation she ignored me and went home very upset. She wouldn’t talk to me so I had no idea why she was mad. And she went on to tell her parents that I abuse her. She went to her room that night and purposely and repeatedly hit herself with a hydro flask water bottle until she bruised. And she had went and showed her friends and posted it on her social media’s and told people I did that to her. That I hit her. And of course it looked 10000% bad Bc she’s this “innocent” looking white girl and I’m this “intimidating” looking black dude. Like at that point there’s nothing I can say to make myself look better. I lost friends. I almost lost myself through that. I’m the kindest human being. I never hurt anyone. She’s gotten me very pissed off a number of times. But laying a hand on her never crossed my mind. I’ve never even yelled at her I would just walk away when I got mad. And so the law got involved and luckily it didn’t get very far Bc she told them that it wasn’t all that serious. But it’s scary at how far it did go just off her word. Sorry for this long comment if you read it thank you for letting me share. :) one more thing. It’s through that experience that I really just thank god and mama for the amazing person. And man I’ve grown to be. Making the best decisions. Living my life. Minding my business and never doing anyone any harm. I strive to be greater everyday. As you should too.

I've seen a lot of young blonde girls accuse young boys of rape. I was recently berating my friend's daughter for telling teachers a boy raped her because he grabbed her arm.
She didn't even know what rape was, she was disgusted when we told her what she was accusing the boy of. After 30 minutes of explaining what she was doing, it finally clicked, and she started crying. We told her, if she kept up her false accusation the entirety of his life would be destroyed. Jobs, relationships, renting a home, going to school, and anything else in his life involved with society or people... He would either not be able to do it, or would have to fight just to be allowed... She was ruining his life over a lie...
She came clean to the teachers... I still feel dirty knowing someone so arrogant and ignorant, even if she was only 14.
I feel for you man, I hope you a happy and productive life. I pray that God compensate you with blessings to close the wound I'm sure your heart is/was feeling. Love and be loved my friend.

Lets not forget the PTSD these people incur being in prison.
AOK is right. African-AMERICANs were wrongfully convicted a lot then and some now. Just because it was easier to get a conviction due to our previous prejudice judicial system. The facts our in our history books and paper trails.

I did my final paper in this exact subject, on three entirely different scenarios. The first one was just like one of those, except instead of stealing a tv, this person was accused of raping and killing a mother and her daughter, after they found out he was innocent they released him with only the clothes he had when he went in,what ever was in his pockets, a pat on the back and a sorry. The sad part was he went into a public restroom for the first time in 30 years, he had never seen an air hand dryer before.
After doing this paper I started to question our justice system.
