Well done on taking the high route - that is some climb up to the saddle between Red Pike and Great Borne - last time I did that, I was admiring the view to Buttermere/Crummock to the north of the ridge, trying desperately to get some air into my lungs, when I look to my right and see a young woman who was jogging on the spot after just running up there - I seriously considered giving her a gentle push off the near vertical drop and into Crummock Water. BTW Innominate Tarn is where Wainright's ashes were scattered.
Very impressive 13 miles of Lake District loveliness Hard climbing but epic views (so cool you visited inominate Tarn 🙌 have never been there 😢 But a few strikeouts with getting a meal but that was an excellent 2nd day 😊👍 Best wishes Simon 😊🙏🏼🏔
The scree down off High Crag used to be continuous for several hundred feet. I once slid down it all the way on small stones. Unfortunately, all those stones have been slid down to the bottom now. It's all bigger rocks ...too big to slide on
Another fun video. Laughed when you took the high path but good choice. I’m looking at Dobs shelter to rest up in November. How was the food at the YHA?
We were soo hungry so I cannot give you an unbiased review about the food. Hehe. It's not bad. I like that the YHA hostels here are so clean and have alcohol unlike in the US
We are hiking the whole Coast to Coast Path from St.Bees to Robin Hood's Bay in northern England. From the west coast (Irish Sea) to the east coast (North Sea).

Innomerate Tarn is where the Inventor of the Coast to Coast Alfred Wainwright had his Ashes scattered. Tony in Essex, England
👋🏻,wherever you find stinging nettles you find Dock leaves, if you rub the leaf on the sting it soothes it.
I probably would rub more stinging nettles on myself thinking it's dock leaves. Hahaaa

Yikes!!! I almost fell on the damn scree still
The climbs today were intimidating. Kudos to you two.
Thanks Brenda! :)
Beautiful scenery.
It was unbelievable!! Like looking at a painting

That is one of the toughest climbs on the route. After Grasmere is higher but this is the first big climb and it feels tough.
Yea. It took almost 2 hours just to get to the first top, Red Pike.
How far will your hike be? From where to where?

Very nice! Looks similar to New Hampshire level difficulty??
But no roots since no trees. But sun exposure all the time
