Came for the Akai. Stayed for the absolutely magical musicianship. ❤
❤😂🎯😊❤️
1:05 those chords are magical 😤🔥
DAMN BRO! Your playing is so Amazing. Looks like I’m going to get in line at zZounds and get me one so I can start practicing 👍
@@Kejo2he doesn’t play in this
Beside the good sounds of the akai key, this is a really beautiful performance from you man ❤️
I ditto that! He is phenomenal!
I watched and listened with bated breath! A wonderful instrument and an amazingly talented performer! Anyone who can play such music must be a very good person!
Mine will be here in 2 days... been buying AKAI stuff since 19 freaking 89!!
They FINALLY made a device for me!!!!
That smile! 😍It's like a kid at Christmas, you are in a happy place with that keyboard...
I love how people want to compare to their premium vsts or even hardware, when this is an all in one production unit, workstation, DAW, with pure integration-full size, and less than the competition. If you can’t make kick ass music with this, you’re shit out of luck trying to integrate all your discrete instruments into something cohesive. If you don’t see the sound shaping ease with this, MPC was never meant for you.
amen brother
It’s a Nice Board Not needed it you already have a X or LiveII like in my Case I use the Komplete Kontrol S49Mk2 I just picked up a new X last week! It was the X or Key61 I went for the Flagship X as I already have a Smart Controller in NI but the Board looks great! And I own all the plugins of it on my X and LiveII The IO and dedicated buttons along with everything else on the X it’s just so premium for me everything is running to my patchbay eight outputs into my Apollo X6 Rack 😎 wish hope they make a KeyPro..💯 Shalawam!!
So would you recommend this or the new 37 key?
What are you talking about? This is a good keyboard but stop comparing it with a DAW! You have all this ‘workflow’ with a laptop, interface, a controller (even QWERTY keyboard) and the MPC software. It’s good as a keyboard, for live and even creating a song but no one in their right mind is going to ditch their computer with its larger screen, more powerful processors and RAM, not to mention the I/O, and, shell out thousands on this keyboard. It has its place and for keyboard players is great.
@@scarvellodepends on your needs and what you have. You’re not going to play like this bro with 37 keys but if you have a 61 key controller you can hook it up to the 37 keys and play away hehe. The 37 keys is a lot cheaper so there is that to consider as well.
Appreciate you letting the keyboard speak for itself. When it really comes down to it, it's the sampled sounds that sell me on a keyboard.
That’s a nice board. I have this funny feeling I see a -73 or -88 key version in the near future. I can see myself with this in my hotel room with my laptop.😌🎶👍🏾
Love the sounds!! Very cool workstation!
Oh what a wonderful instrument.. Thanks Mike Patrick for this demo
those pizzicatos sound badass
needs more demos of organ, brass, strings, etc. sounds
Thanks for watching and your feedback! We'd love to have Mike back, so we'll do our best to get some more sound demos!
akai PUTTING THE "SLAP-DOWN" on ALL OF THEM!!
Thank you! I was really curious how these new models sounded and you answered my question!
Why is your first name a last name?
Thanks for watching, Benn! Did you have any favourite sounds?
Man those strings are ridiculous!!!!!!!
Wow! Amazing playing and sounds as stated! You just helped me decide to go with this keyboard thank you!
Got it day it dropped , was the only one at guitar center , had it even before they posted it lol , shit is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This board sounds damn good 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I'm impressed Akai
thank you so much , was really keen to hear the strings and piano
Beautiful.
So much for trying to save my money and layoff gear for a while...😂
😂
Don’t do it probably already got these same plug in. It took a skill piano player to make them sound dam good but . All instruments are basic with just some effects on them. They almost got me and MPC .. live . Whose name is Shirley
Great performance and good demo! This keybord sounds amazing! 👏🏽🔥
Awesome. It sounds really good and Mike Patrick knows how to demo.
Simply put, it's the best of both worlds! An amazing product with incredible sounds, and an incredible, mesmerising player, a match made in synthy heaven!
fire!
Phenomenal demo. If I didn’t have an MPC One Fantom 0 and Maschine this would be a great buy.
This is an amazing performance video sir.
Superb!!!
my favorite Instrument ! thanks
good lord, I want to go back in time and practice when I was young. You got mad skills g
Michael, my bro, why are there tears in my eyes !!!!!
Pure Talent !!!
Guitar player of 25 years with 15 years studio experience. Definitely not the best keyboard player. With that said, I wanted a workstation to seamlessly record ideas into so I initially purchased the Roland Fantom 06, which is an incredible performance instrument but it's sequencer has such a robotic feel to it since it's pattern based and doesn't offer linear recording like the Akai MPC 61. The returning point for me was importing samples on to the Roland and only having 8MB (yes MB) of space on it after adding expansion packs. Just got the Akai today and have an incredible feeling about it. The push buttons do seem a little on the cheaper side but everything else is incredibly well built. Can't wait to have some fun with it.
The Fantom can have notes offset manually or with a Swing parameter. A lot of music like rock and country works perfectly arranged in a bunch of clips for the user to launch. It also gives more on-the-fly flexibility if repeating a verse or chorus is desired, and more, with ease that you won't get on a linear sequencer.
i currently own an old akai mpk249, when ill have the chance i for sure will upgrade to this, its amazing, great sounds!!!
Gotta get this frfr‼️
Gotta get it. I have the MPC 1 and I knew it was special. Can't wait to own this keyboard Lord willing! Normally you have to put effects on most keyboards in the DAW to get them to sound this well by default. Under $2k and sounds like the $3500 Yamaha Genos I believe it's called!
your playing skills are amazing!!!! I want you in my band
Instruments sound good no processing just as they are good job, nice playing, keep it up man!
very beautiful brother
Legit 🔥
Видно, что сам кайфует от игры 😊
Excellent demo love your playing man! Akai is now back to the synth game. I like the way it’s designed keyboard sounds really good just wanted to know what are the other instruments sounds are in side the board? I have seen limited instruments sounds more of pianos pads and strings dose it has other necessary instruments sounds like a Yamaha/Roland and Korg? I am totally interested in this keyboard...Love it! ❤️ Thank you 🙏
I am getting one ASAP☑️⚡️
EARgasm!!!!
Sounds good 2 me!.💯👍
Hi Mike Patrick, I was wondering will the Akai MPC key 61 have the capability to create rhythms in the style of Jazz, soft ballads and cocktail styles to play along with my new Nord Piano 5 88 please? I have ordered this keyboard yesterday together with the Nord Piano 5 88 ... Beautiful playing and yes, I still have a Yamaha Montage 7 as-well. Please advise
The piano song so good... ❤️ 2:16
Dude took me to an enchanted rainforest where unicorn walk upright and know the mystery of the universe!!!
Of course Polite Mike can make a kiddy piano sound good. But these sounds are very niiiiice!
It’s a Nice! Board Not needed if you already have a X or LiveII like in my Case’ I use the Komplete Kontrol S49Mk2 I just picked up a new X last week! It was the X or Key61 I went for the Flagship X as I already have a Smart Controller in NI but the Board looks great! So Mike, will this be your go to instrument? Or does montage still rule?
Full blackness activated at 6:45 😮
Any decent vintage Rhodes patches on it?
List of the patches played ?
I am more of a keyboard player, than I am a beat maker. I was curious to invest in a square shaped MPC unit, or NI’s Machine. But I never took the plunge for fear of spending alot of money on a device I’d only occasionally interact with. But with this new hybrid? I think I may have changed my mind.
You can just plug any midi keyboard into one of those square boxes ya know
I wouldn’t do that.
@@PaulBrownclk-me Yes that is true, but the ergonomics of this new product makes interacting with this new hybrid keyboard a better user experience, versus plugging in a separate keyboard into an MPC.
This new design also in studio setups, where maybe desk space is limited. if you don’t have a use for this new design, then it understandable you may not consider buying it.
For me? I really like it.
@@keyzone72 good grief the logic of your answer is moronic ffs you clearly work for Akai!
If you decide to take the jump into the MPC world, let us know what you think! We're really impressed with how easy and natural the MPC Key is to play and how incredibly responsive and expressive it is!
Really wonderful playing!
Which stand are you using?
Looking for the accoustic guitar sounds.
I've only heard hip hop on this keyboard let's play some other music like classical and other genres would be good doing vids like this fella has shown us
Can you increase the 4 GB RAM to 16 GB for so large sample pianos and acoustic instruments, if so it's a must buy.
Are these the same presets that are in the Akai MPC One?
Can the ram be increased from 4gig to 8gig
Great playing… the sounds leave a lot to be desired, although they’re not terrible. I’ll save my money, keep my mpc one, and just get another synth and add a model 12 and an sp404 to my standalone set up.
Fantom 6;-)
Can you make your own sounds? Can you layer sounds?
I love my MPC X, I kinda like my mpc key 61😴
You own both bro
@@pierrefitch I actually returned the Key 61, I really wanna get my first 88 key something now.
So, i see you working with the akai. Is it really that good being a Yamaha man. Or is it. They are paying you well to push this product? Cause it looks like if line the keys are clunky. You can't switch fast between programs so it mainly good at home but not live. And the sounds are just okay
Why no hammer keys tho
Oh shitttttttttt!!! It's fucking keyboard.
Beautiful but…Mike is not playing a Yamaha 😳
Does it have patch remain?
nope
I didn't know the key61 had mini keys
They gotta fix the patch loading time cause its unusable live...if they did that I would get one
Keyboard is good but performance is amazing!
There is no all in one effing with this at it's current price point. If I add a decent keyboard to my Live 2 then I've already blown the budget and that's without the extra sounds. Incredible. Just like Akai did with the One, they'll increase the price on this in less than 18 months.
Good call! Better to get it now before it raises
You can now pick this up for £1058. It's dropped like a stone and it's hard to say why. Sounds are great, MPC workflow. The keys are ok, pretty cheap but the board is fast and easy to play.
Man with your hands it looks like a mpk mini.
I meant MPC
I’m sorry to say but Korg Modules pianos sound just as good 🤷♀️
It's nice and all, but I need 76 keys.
Looks like I'm getting divorced then
It looks cheap plastic
it is
According to Benn Jordan, the Akai MRC Key 61 is unplayable and useless
I think it sounds like crap. Not even close to many soft synths like Omnisphere or U-he, or real hardware like Kurzweil. Thank goodness the player here knows some chords to dress up an otherwise blah keyboard.
I have to agree, especially the pianos are some of the worst samples I've heard in recent times. Doesn't matter how many gigabytes you cram in there if the sampling process and post production is shit.
It's does not have the power of your computer at all and is limited to just 4 GB for samples.
For that you get keys pad sequencer audio in our interface full sampling multiple synth engines without the need of a computer.
Omnisphere here is $500+ upgrade prices and computer updates that can cause problems, you also must buy the computer you are running it on without keys pad daw sequencer or audio in out interface and sampling app.
This is meant to compliment the computer, its best when hooked to a computer, or to allow you to compose completely including recording mics vocal real good instruments even omnisphere and other vsts into the keyboard.
Or to do everything with no need for internet or computer or studio.
What about Komplete?
@@shan5445 komplete is great about $600 for standard version.
But it needs a powerful computer which you are always tied too daw pads keys audio interface easy sample program
I think komplete would be a great compliment to the keyboatd.
@@Tigerex966 Oh yes I agree Komplete does need a good computer to run on. I wonder if you can use third party VSTs on the Akai Key 61. Don't you think you are being a little harsh some of those sounds are good.
Sounds good 2 me!.💯👍
