  • We Removed the Flowers and THIS Happened! | Potato Harvest 2023
At long last, we have harvested our mega chip potatoes, and now know the results of our potato growing experiment.
In this potato harvest video, we take a look at the potatoes we have been experimenting with for the past three and a half months. When these potatoes flowered, we immediately removed the potato flowers from half and allowed the other half to keep their flowers in an attempt to see which would provide us with bigger potatoes.
This video answers that question for this limited experiment, but we also want your feedback.
Here is the link to the form you can complete if you are taking part in this experiment with us:
    forms.gle/5erg...
Even if you didn't sign up earlier, you can still be a part of our community results. If we get enough results, we will do a follow-up video on them.
We love a good potato harvest, and we are excited to share these results from our zone 5 garden.
Thank you so much for watching this garden harvest 2023!

Here’s what I like about your channel: 1) you take your time and really enjoy the harvest and everything the garden has to offer.
    2) you are such a dad/teacher. ☺️ I didn’t realize that you are actually a teacher before, but you have such a great way of delivering information that when I was describing it to my husband I said, “He’s like a teacher who really loves what he’s teaching about.” Then in the next video, you said I’m a teacher. And it all made sense.
    3) You are calm and level. You don’t shout and pretend to be over excited and I love that. Your excitement in the garden is genuine.
Keep doing what you do, just the way you do it. Your channel fast became one of my favorites for exactly the content you already make exactly the way you make it.
I just wanted to balance out that whole “hurry up” comment because that’s what the fast forward on UA-cam is for. ❤️

May I ask if you think your beds are too shallow? We make troughs in open soil when planting Tators.

I think removing flowers is more important on late season potatoes

I didn't try removing flowers because with the price of potatoes,I didn't want to change it. I appreciate you doing the experiments for us. Thanks You!!!!!🤗

I enjoyed watching your potato harvest. I am also in zone 5, Michigan. Second year growing potatoes, this year in 20 gallon grow bags. Your soil looked wonderful, can you tell me what is composed of.

I usually leave them because my potato patches are huge, and the bees love the pretty flowers!

My theory is, tithing is to the Earth. Save 10% of the crop and grow again next year. :) What do you think?

Even though there wasn't much size difference really, I bet all those no-flowers potatoes have an extra calorie hidden in them.
    That's MY guess.

I tried removing the flowers from my potato vines but they grew back and there were even more of them. I removed them again and the same thing happened . These potatoes must have flowers I suppose.
