Biggest argument against reservation is just the wrongfully awarding of ST status to Meena community of Rajasthan with Meena surnames, they are grabbing more than 50% of reservation of STs at National level , sometimes even 90% since independence despite being noway a adiwasi community of forested regions of India but a landlord community of Rajasthan.

This issue can actually be tackled by caste census. If the govt can find out which sub-caste is how well off, the can now adjust the limits thanks to Supreme Court's decision to allow caste based reservation to sub categories, and allowing creamy layer. Any sub caste which is well off should not get reservation/get very low reservation. The solution sounds simple, but I don't think any political party would take away reservation from any group as it would impact the vote bank.
As a person from the General Category, I don't oppose reservations, especially when 50% of medical seats are filled by money (private), not talent, but I have some suggestions 1. Proper sub-categorisation should occur for all SC, ST, and OBC Castes 2. The creamy layer should be implemented for SC/ST although the criteria can be a bit more relaxed than that of OBC, 3. The income limit to claim EWS should be reduced to 3 lakhs per annum, Producing an income certificate should also be much stricter.

Reservation is a paradox because when you say you have reservation to people, they get to know that you are Dalit then they will look down on you and then you ask for reservation to compensate. Once a Dalit comes out of poverty and attains education he should stop calling him self a dalit with confidence and give up reservation. Half of the effort must be made by Dalits themselves to come out of discrimination. when you calling yourselves a Dalit you are saying that you belong to so called "lower category" human being, so do not call yourselves a dalit. US here. Completely agree with you. The blatant disregard of resources that I saw in my institution and the job afterward by those who came through reservation was appalling. If those opportunities were given to a deserving candidate, so much would have improved including working condition where the hard working person is exploited by those who never had to do any hard work in their life. Everything was served on platter to them. Caste-based reservation is a malignant cancer to this country.
Instead of providing equal opportunities to all (even by uplifting people with no resources), the government just adds up more reservation quota. I know a guy in college and he's from Maharashtra. His father is a structural engineer and his mother is an architect. They run a successful studio. That guy avails reservation quota scholarship money of 2 laks per year because he's from minority. He owns many luxury items still he gets the benefit of reservation just because he says Jai Bheem. I come from Bihar and has a little unstable financial condition but I don't get any benefits because there aren't anything much for a general category guy.
Which government scheme provide this much scholarship ? I know for a fact that govt. Provide 55% tuition fees for SC/ST for studies in foreign countries where selection criteria of GATE and AIIMS PG. Other than this I don't think government provide any scholarship for creamy layer SC/ST with upper limit of 5 LPA here at IIT bombay while it's 7 LPA for OBC NC layer, Kinda absurd I know !

Let's get some things straight saying as a general male middle class person (the most oppressed community in India) 1. Is reservation justified? Yes 2. Should reservation be increased above 50%? Never 3. Should there exist creamy and non creamy layers in all reservation categories? Absolutely yes, it will help serve the purpose better 4. Should there be quota within quota? Yes but only in some cases to ensure social justice and at the same time ensure that it doesn't start a new war 5. Should free education be considered as a benchmark for not giving reservation? Free education must be an objective of the state which falls with the socialist ideals on which the country was founded, however it cannot be used a benchmark for not giving reservation, quotas are given as compensation to the qualities you are getting while preparing for an exam, if you are getting free education but you have to work a 10 hour shift and have to study on the floor or if your father even after free education can barely afford food, you deserve reservation 6. What's the issue with reservation then? The issue is we Indians focus on how we will divide the existing 2 cookies leading to scarcity for all while countries like China focus on how to increase these 2 cookies to 10.
Our dissent towards the reservation system stems from the inherent flaws within the system itself! If reservation is to be granted based on caste, then just as the general caste students are required to secure 500 marks in the examinations, the SC/ST candidates should also be mandated to obtain 500 or more marks to be eligible for admission under the reservation quota. If it is predetermined that 10 out of 100 seats are to be allocated under the reservation quota, then it should be essential for those candidates to achieve considerable marks as well. That is to say, if 10 out of 100 have scored 500 or above, then admission should be granted to them, and if only 5 SC/ST candidates have achieved 500 or more, then the remaining 5 seats should be left vacant. If admission is to be provided based on caste alone, then the opportunity should be given only to those who have secured the full marks. Therefore, if the reservation system is introduced in the manner I have just explained, then the reservation quota would be beneficial; otherwise, it would create complications. The reservation quota system can be considered appropriate only if it does not compromise on the numbers or the quality, otherwise, it is not. And if an SC/ST candidate happens to be affluent, then the condition for them should be to achieve the highest marks. It is due to the absence of all these factors that we are uncomfortable with the reservation system, or so I believe.
Thats the reason reservation is introduced to give eqal opportunities to everyone. You know Nearly 40% ST youths of India don't even know what is Reservation because they did't get the basic infrastructure to strengthen the goundroot to overcome the poverty where there forefather faced immesed discrimination among the society.
Brother Black Americans suffered similar challenges but the Government didn't take the easy way out and gave everyone reservation based on heritage and maintained a system of merit due to which America flourished and became the strongest country in the world, India can never realize its potential as long as reservation system is there and will always be second when it has the potential to be the best.

feels a lil stupid for that person to have reservation.
This issue can actually be tackled by caste census. If the govt can find out which sub-caste is how well off, the can now adjust the limits thanks to Supreme Court's decision to allow caste based reservation to sub categories, and allowing creamy layer. Any sub caste which is well off should not get reservation/get very low reservation. The solution sounds simple, but I don't think any political party would take away reservation from any group as it would impact the vote bank.

Today i face discrimination and I realised that reservation is important
As a person from the General Category, I don't oppose reservations, especially when 50% of medical seats are filled by money (private), not talent, but I have some suggestions 1. Proper sub-categorisation should occur for all SC, ST, and OBC Castes 2. The creamy layer should be implemented for SC/ST although the criteria can be a bit more relaxed than that of OBC, 3. The income limit to claim EWS should be reduced to 3 lakhs per annum, Producing an income certificate should also be much stricter.

The solution for caste based discrimination should be equality not reverse discrimination

Appeal to dalits to end descrimination:
Dalits should be educated, they should know their rights, they should be taught confidence. Reservation is a paradox because when you say you have reservation to people, they get to know that you are Dalit then they will look down on you and then you ask for reservation to compensate. Once a Dalit comes out of poverty and attains education he should stop calling him self a dalit with confidence and give up reservation. Half of the effort must be made by Dalits themselves to come out of discrimination. when you calling yourselves a Dalit you are saying that you belong to so called "lower category" human being, so do not call yourselves a dalit.
Dalits should understand the fact that the society is branding you with a name called dalit, and the dalits are accepting that branding and opting for reservation.
Discrimination will never stop until you stop calling yourselves a dalit and reject reservation vice-versa.

US here. Completely agree with you. The blatant disregard of resources that I saw in my institution and the job afterward by those who came through reservation was appalling. If those opportunities were given to a deserving candidate, so much would have improved including working condition where the hard working person is exploited by those who never had to do any hard work in their life. Everything was served on platter to them. Caste-based reservation is a malignant cancer to this country.

यहां पर महर्षि मनु खुद ही एक बात स्पष्ट कर देते हैं की चारों वर्ग एक ही शरीर के अंग हैं, तो भेद भाव किस बात का?
और वो अपने दूसरे शोलोक में यह भी स्पष्ट कर देते हैं की जन्म और कुल वर्ण निर्धारित नहीं करता।
वो द्विज के बारे में भी बताते है, अर्थात दूसरा जन्म, विद्यार्थी जब गुरुकूल से graduate होता है तब उसका दूसरा जन्म होता है, और इस दूसरे जन्म के बाद वो किस वर्ण के लायक है यह निर्धारित कर सकता है।

Reservation should be given as free school and colleges with bare minimum fee charges . Not in terms of exams numbers. This is very wrong. Make people aware to go to schools and colleges . Let them study. But please remove it from competitive exams . Not fare at all. Government only wants votes they don't care about people of India this is harsh reality. India have genius brains but they all want to go abroad for jobs and higher studies. Then how can we going to progress how? I know a guy in college and he's from Maharashtra. His father is a structural engineer and his mother is an architect. They run a successful studio.
That guy avails reservation quota scholarship money of 2 laks per year because he's from minority. He owns many luxury items still he gets the benefit of reservation just because he says Jai Bheem.

2. Should reservation be increased above 50%?

3. Should there exist creamy and non creamy layers in all reservation categories?
Absolutely yes, it will help

4. Should there be quota within quota?
Yes but only in some cases to ensure social justice and at the same time ensure that it doesn't start a new war
5. Should free education be considered as a benchmark for not giving reservation?
Free education must be an objective of the state which falls with the socialist ideals on which the country was founded, however it cannot be used a benchmark for not giving reservation, quotas are given as compensation to the qualities you are getting while preparing for an exam, if you are getting free education but you have to work a 10 hour shift and have to study on the floor or if your father even after free education can barely afford food, you deserve reservation
6. What's the issue with reservation then?
The issue is we Indians focus on how we will divide the existing 2 cookies leading to scarcity for all while countries like China focus on how to increase these 2 cookies to 10.
7. Understanding that a society/ecosystem has a certain carrying capacity the societies like China,Korea and Japan also controlled their birth rate.

Our dissent towards the reservation system stems from the inherent flaws within the system itself! If reservation is to be granted based on caste, then just as the general caste students are required to secure 500 marks in the examinations, the SC/ST candidates should also be mandated to obtain 500 or more marks to be eligible for admission under the reservation quota. If it is predetermined that 10 out of 100 seats are to be allocated under the reservation quota, then it should be essential for those candidates to achieve considerable marks as well. That is to say, if 10 out of 100 have scored 500 or above, then admission should be granted to them, and if only 5 SC/ST candidates have achieved 500 or more, then the remaining 5 seats should be left vacant. If admission is to be provided based on caste alone, then the opportunity should be given only to those who have secured the full marks.
Therefore, if the reservation system is introduced in the manner I have just explained, then the reservation quota would be beneficial; otherwise, it would create complications. The reservation quota system can be considered appropriate only if it does not compromise on the numbers or the quality, otherwise, it is not. And if an SC/ST candidate happens to be affluent, then the condition for them should be to achieve the highest marks. It is due to the absence of all these factors that we are uncomfortable with the reservation system, or so I believe.

Thats the reason reservation is introduced to give eqal opportunities to everyone. You know Nearly 40% ST youths of India don't even know what is Reservation because they did't get the basic infrastructure to strengthen the goundroot to overcome the poverty where there forefather faced immesed discrimination among the society.
