Hi there! It is a model kit from the German company Graupner. Therefore best check the internet. Sometimes there are even "Moonrakers" to be found in internet online auction platforms for a much cheaper price than when buying a new kit box and all the additional technic, etc. (here in Switzerland the total price is over USD 3'000.--). I saw auctions where it was sold for less than a third of that.
Hi Andy, thanks for the comment! The model reflects the state at the beginning (with three turbines) and it develops a speed of approx 25 km/h which is pretty much in scale with it original speed record. You lucky guy may compare to the original one (I am jealous ;-) )
@johnelling1 Your guesses are correct: one grey color only and radar with micromotors and gear from ROBBE. Actually I use one speed controller for the outer jets and one for the booster, equally with the three LiPo accus. There is absolutelly no need to increase maneuverability as water jets are very agil anyway. So you might save the money for a third controller. Oh yes, if you need any decoration figures on your Moonraker, just visit my shop you find by searching 'crew-aboard' in the internet.
@mar234mar1 You are right, it seems hard to buy one at the moment. But I am sure there are some shops having it still in stock. Best is just to go throught the various offerings in the web and contact possible vendors by mail. Sometimes they have a box 'laying' around somewhere. I do believe that Graupner has not stopped production for good but this is also hard to tell.
@johnelling1 The color is called 'anthracite' and it's from RUCOLAC. The color code is RAL7016. The batteries I use for the jet drives are from Graupner LiPo 4800; 14,8 V; 4.8 Ah; product code is 7660.4. I use for each motor one of those what make 3 accu's. In addition there are the other accu's for the bow thruster and for the lights, radar's etc. But there you might use whatever is handy to you.
@HaHaOright Thanks for the suggestion. There is not really the need for a water cooling as the power with the existing motors and some LiPo accus is pretty fair. In the vid the speed is far beyond max speed as of the pool limitations. The max speed is about 25 to 30 km/h when in glide cruise. More would be above scale speed and I would not trust the hull to resist more than that. There are nice fotos from the wave picture when checking our webpage from ASK (see askweb.ch). Have fun!
I am using the original jets from Graupner as they have been proposed in the model kit. I know, that quite a lot of people changed that to jets from the "best-of-breed" model jet producer "Kehrer", which is definitely a possibility. On the other hand I am very happy with the performance of the Graupner jets and would not have any reason to change them. As driver I am using Graupner 700 Speed motors whereas the middle one (booster) is stronger as the two outer jets.
@12345678931880 It is a model kit from Graupner/JR (you might check the webpage from Graupner in Germany). The easiest is to check with a local modeler shop or search the Internet. As a matter of fact it is not really a beginner model so depending on your experience it is always the other possibility to check in internet auction platforms for a model.
i guess putting a new motor both watercooling the boat will make big bow thrust like a real crusier would!!!! just a suggestion...... either take it or leave it, up to you =)
The kit itself is around EUR 450.--. Including all the additional details and technic I would asume that it will end around EUR 2000 (but hardly depend on what you want to include, i.e. which functionalities you would like to realize. Sometimes you can find second hand models like Moonraker on Internet auction platforms.
@mar234mar1 Search for Graupner Moonraker (Order no. 2188). The most shops I found in Europe of course, because Graupner is a German company. I heard, that you maybe might find it in Hobby-Lobby in the U.S.
What makes you believe that this boat is not just running perfect as it is? If you take a closer look you might recognize that the basin is just to small to go on speed. By the way to handle bigger wave it has more to do with the hull construction and surely not with an additional engine ;-)
Hi Thomas, no, it is a model kit from the German company Graupner. The electronic insight is a little bit extendend to what the kit would propose. This mainly to optimize the driving behaviour.
@12345678931880 I bought mine in a shop in Switzerland but I recognize that Hobby Direct in Germany always has good prices and I could rely on them so far. Mine is fairly equpped with additional features like turning radar antennas, remote controlled trim flaps, sound, etc. At the end I spent more than CHF 4000 for all and it took me nearly 2 years to finish it (but I have no clue how many hours I spent!).
CranioUomo It was a model kit from German company Graupner. The kit is officially no longer awailable but might find it in internet when searching. But careful - this is neither a beginners model nor is it cheap!
Impressive! Great job!

Thanks! The original sails in your home country. In Florida to be precise. The model shows the setup as it was in 1992.
Amazing
Very beautiful!
@devedsmith
The song is named "The spy i am" and the artist behind is M. Hildebrandt

Obrigado! O iate também corre muito próximo da realidade. Às vezes um pouco difícil e requer alguma prática.
