Finally, something that doesn’t make fun of Tourette syndrome. I’ve had countless people tease me for my ticks and tell me to ‘cut it out’. We can’t help it.
I'm very sorry. Some are foolishness because they fail to understand we all are different in many ways and this is how God created us. People fear what they do not understand. Thank you for sharing. God bless you.
I have to ask , this is something that has happened to me since childhood. I had a classmate who had Tourette, i couldn’t sit either her in my field of vision because I would start having ticks, I used to stutter as a child and still do if excited. I’m not doing it on purpose just happens like strobe lights affect me or things moving too much. Nuns used to give me a hard time and thought I was being cruel but I wasn’t , is that just nerves- which I always thought it was and still do or was it Tourette but never diagnosed? Not fun , not easy almost as bad as being the person who has it but being falsely accused made it worse. One teacher finally helped me and let me sit in the front where I could not see but if i saw , it took hours to get back to normal.
@@yolirivera51853 I believe that some studies have shown that there is a link between people who have tourettes and people who stutter. Sorry that the people around you were not more understanding at the time, hopefully great movies like this will increase awareness and understanding
I have motor tics (unable to control body movements), and I truly and literally relate to what the guy in the movie is feeling. There are many times I had experience embarrassment in front of people who dont understand me. I am so glad and touched to have came across this movie. It really inspires me that people with tics can live a normal life. Thank you for making this movie
Me too and I don't even know what it's called to atleast explain it to anyone I say that I just get some jerks in my body But it's not this big so thankfully it goes unnoticed by most of the people
he plays it so well, my dad had ts very, bad bless him.hes gone now.but i think of him when i watch this movie.and the guy,who plays the teacher is so qute, what a studmuffin.bless all with ts and other disabillyties

I love this movie so much, specially the last scene when he says...What did I learn from my disabilities and kids raises hands and say the answers...That's called true motivation speak
This is one of my Fav movies of all time. Having a child with Tourette's, it portrays tourette's, beautifully. (including that parent guilt, which is super strong). This movie and the fact that it's a true story, has made my baby girl want to become a teacher 💕 We watch the movie on a regular basis 💕
I completed watching that and it was such an amazing movie. A complete positive vibe throughout and the fact that it's based on a real story makes it even beautiful. There wasn't any point I felt bored, plus I like this type of films only, which promotes awarness about things people should know and accept. Love him, his mother and his wife too, they were the constant supporters. Made me cry❤
Ask a person with tourett's to stop his/her tics, and I ask you to stop breathing, to stop blinking or to stop your heart from beating. You cant stop doing that now can you? Because its out of your control. Sure you can hold your breath for some time, hold it long enough you pass out and start breathing again. You can force your eyes to remain open for quite some time, but you will eventually blink. And while some people can slow their heart beat down considerably. You cant stop it entirely with out dying.
If they want to unlock the code to stopping tourett's then they need to focus on the brain and when it goes to sleep because tourett's doesn't continue while sleeping or atleast my friend with tourett's says his stop once he falls asleep. They should do CT scans to see what is active during the day when a tick happens and then what happens at sleep to that same area. Such a mysterious ailment.
wow..I also came across this movie name in the comment sections under hichki movie's trailer...hichki trailer looks promising but this one really made me cry.
my elementary school teacher played this movie in my class years ago.. it was how i knew about tourette's, and i didn't know that the syndrome wasn't commonly known by people. then i found out about Sweet Anita the twitch streamer from youtube, and in one of her videos she tells how she's never had a proper diagnosis for tourette's until she's an adult. i felt glad that my teacher played that movie because it educated me and my classmates. it really hurts hearing people say to them that "they're faking it" or "they're doing it for attention". i think it's very rude to say that someone is faking their condition because "they look normal".
Angelina Anggun me too just struck by those emotions..... i don't have Tourette but hell i know how a person will feel if everyone just can't accept them
I have a stammer and I can relate how people treat us everyday, how they look at you as if you are a psycho, it's a hard world out there, you don't have friends, you don't get job but someday I want to make a difference !
I remember seeing this movie when I was very young. I was too young to fully understand what's going on but it weirdly stuck to me. I remember his breakdown in his car and his young self was explaining to the school what his condition is on a stage of I remember correctly. Now I want to rewatch it now that I'm older lol
i just have one thing to say.... YOU MAKE THE BEST TRAILERS. you somehow captured almost every emotions of the film in like 2 min that is not an easy thing to do
This is for people who are here after watching Hichki trailer. Yashraj has acquired the rights to depict the book(Front of the class) it was based on and has modified it. While Front Of The Class delved into Cohen's struggle with his parents and colleagues and eventually finding success by becoming a teacher, Hichki focuses on Mukerji's character's drive to teach children from a different strata of society who are treated as outsiders.
I don't get it. How do I separate the two movies? I am solely judging from the trailer. I don't know how you can be so confident about the plot of Hichki when the movie is yet to be released (releasing today I think). If you see the trailer, it is exactly the same. I don't see anything new. The fact that Yashraj has acquired the rights is absolutely futile and immaterial for me because the trailer tells me it is a copy. A copy after acquiring the rights of the book but a copy nonetheless. I don't understand why we need to make a movie on a novel on which another movie already exists and has some brilliant performances even though they are from relatively less known actors. This futile exercise of making 2nd and 3rd carbon copies of the movies already made has to stop if the Indian film industry wants to expand its creative horizons.
@@rtushar61 there are two versions of gaslight. There are two versions of sybil, there are two Ghostbusters, there are many many many instances where movies copy eachother and people are just fine with it.
@@aderyn7600 Well of course it's fine to copy. I wasn't talking about the 'legal' aspects here. Creatively, I am of the opinion that copying is a mediocre practice. That's what I think and not everyone has to agree with it. But if you're a true storyteller, I don't think you would copy stories from older movies. You would have your own stories. That was the point.
@@aderyn7600 there's a difference between an adaptated script and a copied story. Here, I see that its copied point by point. Like, there is absolutely no difference other than the gender of the main character.

I’ve not been diagnosed with it so I can’t say say for sure I have Tourette’s syndrome and I’ve never seen this movie but I feel like it is an excellent representation of what it’s like. Since watching this and typing this out my tics have gotten a tad worse because I’m actively talking about it 😂 trying to stop them is almost like trying to hold back a sneeze it’s possible but the entire time is uncomfortable until you just let it out and sneeze.
