Good advice; thanks. Re Carbon bows: My price limit of £1000 seems a bit low compared to the $40,000 mentioned!!! But at that price range Arcus carbon bows seem to be easily the match of the wooden bows.
Both with a cello and bow the sound different under the ear. If you can take a good player with you so you can listen. Do a blind test and decide which you like better.
