I just finished installing the same cover on my 2020 F150, and watched a few of these just to make sure I got it right. This one was the best of all of them, made it a piece of cake.

Well done, just received my cover and wondered how to start after reading the factory supplied directions. Your explanation made it clear. I had to supply my own weatherstriping. I used rubbing alcohol to clean the Ford bed liner's flat plastic surface where ever the weather stripping would make contact. Seemed to help

Thanks for the video, I was installing mine and was getting frustrated because I didn’t have the tailgate open when trying to close it. Once I tried with the tailgate down it closes much easier and snaps. I thought it was too tight and saw the adjustment was already at the last mark.

Thank you very much for your video! I checked the part out on Amazon this Sunday and proceeded to watch the manufacturers video which was roughly 3 minutes long. I searched more and then found your video which was very detailed and 'from scratch'... go-backs and all. After watching your video, I felt more comfortable ordering the part. It came in 2 days and I just installed it in no time! I even bought the ratchet set attachment for my impact drill (which shortened the time even more). I must say, it looks pretty nice. I did see light coming in through certain areas which means the foam isn't as flat as I thought it would be. I was going to ask you for your thoughts on it being air-tight, but I saw a few comments below that revealed it's not... and that it's not 100% impenetrable to rain water. Nevertheless, I think it was pretty reasonable and we'll see how it works. Thanks again for your help!!

I too had a BakFlip tri fold, and never again. It delaminated after 22 months and I pampered that cover. Soft seems like the better option if longer term security is not the top priority.

@@TheToughGuysTV The install went pretty well. the only issue was it was tricky to tell how far forward or back to mount, and I mounted maybe a 1/2 inch too far back. Only thing is that the rear corners of the cover just barely peek over the edge of the tailgate. its a quick adjustment though. thanks again.

Nice job, clear explanation of the install. Now that it has been a few years, how is it working out for you? Any wear? Any leaks? Would you buy this again if you had to get a new truck?
I kept this cover for about a year and half past the video, then traded in that truck. I never had any issues with it while I owned it, would def buy same one again!

My bars fall thru when I unfold the cover.
Installed correct with rails against the truck bed
? What could be wrong
i had to install that extra foam piece too. are you noticing your cover is ballooning or lifting towards the front any any speed past 60mph? its making me nervouse, its like the bed is getting filled with air. i have no light leaks and it seems air tight and i have all of the clamps pretty dang tight. i even gorrilla taped from the inside any where i think air may be entering from, any one give advice! fyi this is my first tonneau. everyone i talk to that has a tonneau says theirs lays flat on the high way. is it just the tyger brand??

I've got the same issue. It doesn't seem to puff up much but I wasn't sure how much is normal. I was looking for videos of someone driving with a cover on to see if I had mine right.

We had this cover all the way until selling the truck, it never had any issues, occasionally I’d check the bolts to tighten it up, overall was great.

Now I am currently using an 11 Pro Max, I really wanted the ultra wide and zoom lenses which have already proven to be great improvements. What about running it through a car wash? Does it keep water out then? I have a hard top bed cover on now that only lifts and does not role/fold up. I'm looking for something to be able to get more use out of the bed of my truck. But need to make sure the bed doesn't flood when I take it through the car wash. Thanks!
Charles, we only seamed to get water in near the tailgate, and a tiny bit up by the front as well. Same would happen in a bad rain storm. It was never more water than the grooves in the truck bed itself, so anything we had stayed dry. I’ve got a hard shell cover as well which we currently are trying out for a bit and I feel like it actually lets more water in. The issue I think is sealing in the truck bed itself. My bed is spray lined, so getting any foam to attached to get a better seal is tough.

Great video, how has it held up over the past several months, and in rain, does it keep the bed dry?
There is some minor water intrusion from the sides, not completely water right for sure, but I wouldn’t say it floods or anything. The water is never deeper than the bed ‘grooves’ so anything sitting in there is never wet. Only real complain after use is that it makes some noise when driving, as it vibrates a bit. We’ve tried tightening it down, but the sound stays. Honestly I don’t notice that, but my wife does.
Overall it’s held up well and it’s a solid bed cover!!! We are going to test out a truck fold hard cover on a trip soon as well and see if it’s any better, so if you’re on the fence stay tuned for that video!

Thinking about getting one for my 2019 F150 XLT, how has your cover held up since you installed it? Would you get it again or go for something different ?
It held up pretty well. We ended up getting a 2nd cover for longer trips, we were taking a long trip to CO, but then we ended up using it all the time. It ended up being more versatile overall - I did a video as well on it. 👇🏻

Was it really tough to engage it? Maybe it’s too tight and it’s popping out? Alternatively it may be too loose. That’s a hard one to say for sure without seeing it in person, but trial and error the overall position to adjust the tension when you lock it down. Let me know what you find!! Ok I have a 2005 dodge quad door Dakota . I bought a Tyler roll up tonneau cover for my truck . Ok for some reason the cover seems a little to long and the tail gate won’t shut. So would you do a video doing one of these covers on a dodge Dakota around the 2005 models

I have mine installed. I can't get it to closed, to much tension. It closed and easily before I tightened down the clamps. One clamp I tightened to tight. I can tell, because it bowed the rail a little. How can I fix this??
Your son I'd adorable! I did adjust the the tension as suggested several times.
I'm not sure on the tension issue. Is it possible it's misaligned / off center? Or maybe they sent you an incorrect sized unit? Hopefully you found a fix in the meantime - Thanks for the note and for checking out the video!
I assume you have the tension plate on the line closes to the bed of the truck. 4th line. Are you sure the cover rails are inserted all the way into the cover? This is where you loosen the one screw and screw the rail to the cover. Doesn't take muc h to make the cover tight.
TOPRO=TOP PRO. As in a top for your truck bed.

If I didn't like the looks of the side rail clamps, is there any reason I couldn't drill through the rails and bed and through bolt the rails in place?
Great question - I'm not exactly sure if that's good to do or not. May want to confirm with a local truck accessory shop near you to see if they've drilled through before. Whatever option you'd want to make sure it's removable and fairly easily in case you need to change it for any reason. I installed mine last night but the front of the roll up cover isn’t flush on my tailgate so there is a gap is that suppose to be like that?
I don’t think you should have a gap at the tailgate

@@dustincarter7258 I was having the same issue. My cover would latch and pop up a bit. Tyger sent me a bunch of things to look at but my install was according to what they sent. I found the top of the rail where the latches insert was bent up about 3 mm. Look at the end and see if the metal rail is above the plastic insert. I was able to tap this down and now my tailgate seal is much better. I can send pics that explains it better. Will have to see how it holds up as I just installed the cover on my Tacoma Sport

My instructions said I might have to cut a hole in the Berliner rail of the clamps don’t line up square. Yours line up like mine, have you had any issues with the cover?
No it never had any issues. We switched to a different type not because this one was bad, but because I wanted to try a 'hard cover' type. To be honest, I miss the ease-of-use of this model, it was awesome.

Have you tried to adjust the overall tension? Could there be anything interfering with the locking mechanism? Hard to know for sure but I hope you’re able to figure it out! just tried this on my ram 1500 reg cab and three bolts sheered in half. going to try find replacement bolts that are better. oh yeah i had tightened them and they snapped in half.
Lou, thanks for the info and yes these bolts don’t seem to be super high quality. I tried to be easy with the impact driver as I went not to wrench too tight as well. If you don’t mind, let me know where you get those replacement bolts here maybe to help someone else in the future!! Thanks
Should only torque to 26 ft lbs.
Can it be opened with the tailgate closed?
James, I do not believe there is a way to release it without opening the tailgate first. I know here are some types that do allow you to leave the tailgate up, but this one doesn’t not. Thanks for the question and for watching!! 👍🏻👍🏻
@@TheToughGuysTV makes sense, I didn't see the latch mechanism on the end. That's pretty awesome for being as cheap as it is.
I really like it! My wife’s mother has one that is spring loaded and retracts into a little box near the cab and that one has a key lock so you can open with the gate closed. This one is pretty awesome for the money honestly, and it’s an easy install.
Ridgid batteries suck
I had good luck for many years, but later on it's not been so great for me.
@@TheToughGuysTV i went through 2 sets in 2 months. I do like ridgid but dont use there guns anymore. PS the video helped me out a lot, i had mine on in no time.

After you install this on your Ford, you might as well replace the transmission, brakes, door hinges, emf sensor, maf sensor, radio harness, front headlights and entire front suspension....

My truck runs just fine for us. I’m not a truck enthusiast, I drive it to work everyday. If it’s your thing to trash certain brands, I can’t stop you nor care to - just saying that for some people a vehicle you hate may be just fine for them. Me personally, I’ve got better things to worry about. ✌🏻
