In this case, they are just pushing the wort from the mash kettle to the boil kettle so you could technically use either port. After the boil though, you'd have to change the hose on that port to pump the wort through the therminator. So drain port to pump in, pump out to therminator in, therminator out to fermenter. Definitely have to do some hose switching after the boil to get everything done. Not sure why that's not in the video?
Hi, I am a subscribed member and am interested in home brewing. I am a first timer and i like to do things right and i'm a bit of a perfectionist but not afraid to make mistakes. Can you recommend something to me please?
It's really dependsd on your budget. I started with a 10 gallon Anvil kettle and a Anvil forge burner. Then moved up to a Anvil Foundry. I used to love brewing out back on my deck, but, since I got the Foundry, I've only brewed in doors. If I were to start today, I would just get the Anvil Foundry. As a first timer, you could always get a cheap kit and do extract on your stove, then move up to the Foundry. Oh, and if your serious, move to kegs fast. I never minded bottling, until I kegged. Plus, draft is nice :)
Honestly I would reach out to Jared in our tech support. He can learn more about your brewing set-up, what you are looking to accomplish and suggest some solutions to meet that vision. He's at 765.421.2018 or support@blichmannengineering.com. Cheers, and welcome to homebrewing. It's the best hobby in the world!
Any chance a HERMS version of the video is in the works? ;)
Hi, It would be great to see a HERMS version of this video!
Concur!
Yeah same !!!
Hi i think they should’ve connected the boil kettle via whirlpool port and not the drain port.. 🤔

How many litre beer can be made by this system?
This particular system is their smallest system. The kettles are 10 gallon (approx 37.85 L) and it’s designed to make 5 gallons (approx 19 L) of beer.
