The conversion was so powerful that his sarcastic unbelieving sister put his death notice in our major daily. Date of "death"? The day he accepted the Lord under BG's ministry.

My dad was a United Methodist minister for 60+ years. Before he passed he was afflicted with Alzheimer’s for about 5-6 years. He would forget everything and everyone but the one thing he never forgot was the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. One Sunday afternoon we were all sitting at the kitchen table after lunch and all of a sudden he just stood up and started preaching. We all thought it was funny at first because he was thinking he was at his pulpit preaching to the congregation. We all stopped and listened. It was a beautiful 10 minute long sermon. He referenced scripture perfectly. When he was done he walked out the door lol. I’m glad I recorded it on my phone because on Monday he slipped and broke his hip. Once he was put under anesthesia it removed the rest of his memory and speech. He passed June 22, 2013. I always thought, “to serve the Lord all of those years and then to be reduced to a bumbling mess isn’t fair!” My brother chimed in and said “Gregory, Dads reward is in heaven. That’s his reward.” I’m not bitter about it anymore. My mom just turned 92 and has been blessed with long years on earth. My folks were perfect in my eyes even though I know they’re all sinners. They always lived like they preached and never faltered on their belief. If I can end up as just a quarter of the man my dad was I’ll be good to go but I have to be my own person so when the time does come we’ll all be together.

This is SO TRUE. I was expelled from a catholic school as a teenager because of my irreligious attitude and conduct. As an adult I was invited by a work colleague to attend an Anglican youth croup were I heard and understood for the Gospel message about Christ's redemptive sacrificial death on the cross for the Sins of humanity. I received Christ as my Savior, and my life was transformed at every level. Far beyond anything I could have ever imagined. I met my wife at that youth group, and our marriage of 50 years has been an endless honeymoon. She is a committed Christian and has far exceeded my every need and expectation in every way. We have three children who are committed Christians, and ten grandchildren. Ironically, I was later invited as a quest speaker to address the students of the catholic school I was expelled from. As I looked at the assembled students and teachers I thought to myself "If they only knew!" Ironically, I also had the privileged of addressing an audience that included the Evangelist who preached the Gospel message that led me to Christ. I singled him out and personally thanked him. I was a very moving moment that touched the audience. My career in IT and systems design gave me a passionate interest in science.
