@@SpaceMulva You shouldn’t be allowed near weapons 😂
I'm not from England but I find it disturbing that people from India leave so much garbage in the waterways.
you dirt goblin lol
wear gloves you don't know what sickness or toxins are present as on scratch & you could become sick or even worse!
Thought Y'all were smart that is disgusting rotted trash to handle.
Not impressed. we always wear gloves sometimes more than one pair, Mate
tighten up!
Wow that camera restoration was epic
It was picture perfect 👍🏻
Great idea Si to establish a dedicated area for these offerings to prevent more pollution. Without being disrespectful I've been trying to think of an idea that would help with this. I hope someone listens to you.
Yes I think my idea is a nice compromise that benefits everyone esp the environment ☮️
I just love your fabulous mud fossicking and frolicking ,this was a great one .I look forward to part 3.
People need to quit throwing their religious crap into bodies of water for others to clean up. This is not the 18th century. Time to evolve.
Don’t worry about being disrespectful, the people who things in our rivers don’t 🤦♀️ this is becoming quite a problem
@@Curiouscatnapthe perceived disrespect from said groups doesn’t outweigh the dumping of non degradable items in our rivers.
Thanks!
Glove fund. 😁🥰🧤
Thanks so much! That’ll help with the congestion charge that I got stung with yesterday! £17.50 to drive in the zone for two hours. Grumble grumble 😆
Fascinating finds. Having a designated area for offerings is a good compromise or perhaps encouraging offerings that are biodegradable, at least.
Thanks to all the mudlarkers for helping clean up the area. Thanks to you, Si, for taking us along. Loved the
Beatles 45.
Cheers JoeEllen, did you enjoy the parody?👍🏻🐾🧡
Thanks - Nice to see Cuffs and Monica - you weren't bad either!! 😉x
Haha. Thanks so much Penny! Yes it’s great to get the mud gang out together ❤ I hope you and hubby are well 🧡
@@Sifinds Just teasing - you were magnificent, as ever! 💋
Richard’s fine as long as he has his books, tv, computer and refreshments served constantly!
@@My2Pennyworth He’s a lucky man!

I love the things you find, but I just really enjoy listening to your very cheerful voice and your smile is lovely. 😃
Aw thanks so much. The world is better when you smile 😀
Ditto for Shani, her laugh is really infectious, hope we see more of her.
@@alandavies55
She's easy on the eye too...
✌🏻😉👌🏻
those chinese 'egg cups' you found at the start are actually chinese tea cups! 😊 and what an amazing find that camera is! i can't believe how well it's been preserved in the reservoir!
Cheers! Me neither… goes to show you if leather doesn’t break down in 100 odd years what chance does plastic have👍🏻🐾🧡
That thing you picked up when you were looking at the Ganesha looks like a Sanskrit symbol. Not an expert though.
This Chinese New Year is that just began is the year of the Wooden Dragon. ❤
And dragons!!
Monika's camera find, and clean up was incredible!!
Oooh,this is a fine video!
At 2:50, you found a couple of tea cups, wow they are amazing.
I brew my tea Gong Fu style,I would love to sip some tea from one of those cups!
Ahhh!
Monika is a restoration master!
The camera,wow!
She restores Vinolandia style!
She knows what I mean,as she restored a tiny shoe recently.
The religious offerings are always profound finds, they touch my heart, every time.
Cheers Charles. I second all of that. Hope you’re well old bean👍🏻🐾🧡
Could they be Sake cups, Japanese? This was my first thought. 😀
Technically,a tea cup and a sake cup are the same, the difference is merely that you fill the sake right up to the brim, whereas tea is not filled as much,it would be rude to do so.
Thanks Si, great idea about designated area for offerings! Excellent job of cleaning the Reservoir. Monica's camera is stunning!!
Cheers Debbie👍🏻🐾🧡
When you found the BOAC bag- the Beatles song was the first thing that popped into my head. I have that album. ( yes I’m old🤣)
It’s a great song too!
Another great video, I can’t believe the amount of bags of rubbish you all collected..It goes to show that some people just don’t care about the environment..Hope you have a great Valentine’s Day on Wednesday, as for me it’s my 14th one on my own 😮🙄🐱🐾💜
Hey Jules, who needs a man anyway, they all stink 😂
That’s amazing ! The Beatles sound great even on a banged up 45. Another studly video 😅
Lol cheers Mike👍🏻🐾🧡
The record is an E.P. (Extended Play). Four tracks. You`ll be too young to remember these. Love your videos.
Great finds! Sean did a great job singing that fun cool song!!
Agreed! Cheers Becky👍🏻🐾🧡
Brilliant. Love the 45 and Monica's camera! Excellent work guys ❤
Cheers Gill👍🏻🐾🧡
Used to visit here as a snotty nosed saucepan lid (kid) in late 60’s and 70’s with my grandad. Impressed that’s it’s still there and not built on. Great that it’s being looked after. X
Nice yarn me ol’ China plate
Awesome video ! Great execution of cleaning up the mess & finding treasures in the mud!! Grew up in the60’s& still listening to the Beatles!! 🎶🎶🙌
Cheers Jane! 👍🏻🐾🧡
You are pretty brave putting your hand in bags like that. Lord knows what might be in them...😮
“You lark so good,
You lark so fine.”
Nice one Sean! 😊❤
I really appreciate all the efforts put in to clean up our waterways, great job done by all. Interesting mix of finds as always... I'm glad the police opted to come and get the huge machete in the end !!! ..
Loved the Sean song !
Thanks so much. An enjoyable and productive cleanup! Spread the joy👍🏻🐾🧡
Love all the offerings but your idea to have a special offering place was brilliant. Monika's camera side bit was great as was the Beatles & the airline connection.
Not egg cups; or for tea;
but for drinking Saki...a Japanese fermented liquor made from rice.
That was my 1st thought
That's the 1963 Beatles "Twist & Shout" EP- extended play 45- four tracks. My brother got it as part of his Christmas present that year. In fact, when I hear " A Taste of Honey" which is track two on side one, I am instantly taken back to that time when late 1963 was Beatlemania on a lunatic scale. The problem is, I can't stay there! I can recall the year before my mother bought the single Let's Twist Again by Chubby Checker for my Dad for Xmas 62 for my Dad- before the Beatles phenomenon.
A Great Part 2 !!! Thanks for sharing your finds . So interesting .You always seem to be having fun !!
Cheers Elaine, it’s what life’s all about! Even if we are deep in mud 😂
I had to go back to the beginning and catch the whole thing. I really love how Monika's camera came out 👍 I've been busy, but I'll post something on Instagram about the hand painted poison bottle. It really lights up nice.
Cheers Jim! I’ll look forward to seeing that! 👍🏻🐾🧡
Oooow, I had that Beatles single, fab, gear and groovy ( it's a 60s thing!!!) . The old camera was FANTASTIC. Well done to all involved.
Yeah baby 🕺🏼
45 is truly “groovy”. Ha!
Yeah, Sean. Good job on His-tory! Loved this lark. Love the little tea cups. Very sweet.
Thanks so much!
Cheers..! :)
I am going to follow these Larkers - especially Monica! great job on that camera restoration!!
Can’t beat the Beatles on a Sunday morning. If you did the Twist in that mud your knee would be as busted as mine was and then some.
Haha
Ahh bless you all for clearing up that reservoir 🙏 and thank you for the shoutout ! Brilliant that it was the Beatles rather than a Brimful of Asher ! Loved the version at the end 👌 blessings sent your way 🙏
Thanks for getting involved 👍🏻🐾🧡
Great idea about the net/ special place for the temple offerings, I was wondering why they thought it was ok to put them in the water supply!!!
It’s what they do at home I guess
Its custom and practice, just like Victorians had bottle dumps and my mom burned all her leaves. When you know better, you do better. The running water is supposed to carry the prayer. I was on the ferry a few months ago and these well heeled folks tossed dad’s ashes into the bay along with a bouquet of roses! Completely illegal and a bit startling for all of us who were just taking the ferry into the city!
Want to make sure I don’t miss this!! Looks exciting! Stay safe everyone!
Twist and shout! That's obviously a newer 45 as it has a built in center piece. We had to use the separate bit, at least here in the US
Interesting. I hoped you liked the parody👍🏻🐾🧡
absolutely! @@Sifinds 💞
In the UK the 45's with the big centre hole were ex-juke box records. They were sold quite cheaply after being replaced. The more popular ones were usually played to death. We had some when we were teenagers.
Awesome camera find by Monika!
I would turn those egg cups into pin cushions and stick some Thames pins in them.
Lovely idea👍🏻🐾🧡
I like it!
Just think of all the treasure out in that lake! You found a fair bit yourself--thanks for the film and I enjoy when you include other mudlarkers in your story, esp. Monica, Cuffs and that great musician/guitarist.
Yes Sean the guitarist! Cheers Sara👍🏻🐾🧡
Cool stuff That camera came out beautiful. Thanks for sharing 👍
My pleasure Mudlover 👍🏻🐾🧡
All of your volunteer work does make a difference. Plus it makes great content 😊
Thanks so much👍🏻🐾🧡😊
I guessed it was the Beatles before you cleaned it up. I hope you kept a lot of those trinkets and pots from that prayer rug collection. Some of those finds were definitely keepers. Great job cleaning up that mess. Watching from the USA.
If only there were quickly-biodegradable versions of offerings, maybe made of something that also did good for aquatic life and didn’t involve bags. Love the Twist and Shout find, still sounding pretty good!
I grew up near the Welsh Harp, we used to go to the library which was at the corner of the park, play in the playground and then read our books. There used to be sailing regattas!
What a wonderful memory👍🏻🐾🧡
Ohhh wow! That Ensign 1920’s camera! Just looked like it was beyond ‘bringing back’ but what a transition! Well done that mudlarker for restoring it. And the bellows were the most amazing restoration! 🎉
Oh Si is that Sean singing the new mud larking song?? 😂😂 Great video as usual! Have a fab week!👍🏻👍🏻
Good to see you and Cuffs. Those are pretty little egg cups. The Indian coins have wonderful designs on them. The record is what we would call an oldie here in the US.
A golden oldie aye👍🏻🐾🧡
It’s a fabulous idea to do a mass clean up in our rivers, well done to everyone involved! 👏👏💙
Fantastic Beatles 45 that you found! Twist and Shout! Love the camera! Monica did a great job fixing it. 😊
Loved hearing Sean singing the parody 'His-tory' 🎶
An amazing job (hard slog 😩) by an incredible group of like-minded people.
✌😎 Cheers Si, thanks for another excellent vlog.
So interesting! Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.
I can't believe you found a Beatles 45! Now *THAT* is treasure. And one of my personal favourites by them too. Also, Monika's camera is absolutely stunning. I do hope she can get the old girl working again.
Cheers Maisie, next time Spandau Ballet - GOLD
A really entertaining watch, most people at some point have asked the question, what’s been dumped in there, the reality, not a lot given the length of time it’s has been in existence.
Not a lot? Lol. Well you probably don’t realise this isn’t the first time it’s been drained and cleaned
Back in the USSR and Twist and Shout recordings were years away from each other.
Now !! Si is a true mudlark, doesn’t mind getting his hands a bit dirty. Love watching you guys, would love to be there with you getting my hands dirty.
You are there in spirit Sharon👍🏻🐾🧡
The Beatles! Twist and Shout!!! Love that song…why would anyone throw it away? What a great find. ❤️ (my fave band btw.)
I’d love to know how it ended up in there!
Thoroughly enjoyed both of these episodes, fascinating and satisfying at the same time. The Beatles record is just awesome. That camera however would have to be my favorite. Corker of find. Thank you Si for sharing this with us xx Teresa ❤🇦🇺
My pleasure Teresa👍🏻🐾🧡
Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to clean up the reservoir,TY mudlarks!❤
Cheers Mudlover👍🏻🐾🧡
Wow love the record.love the camera too.well done to you all for the cleanup 😊xx
Cheers Julie👍🏻🐾🧡
I'm so lookin forward to the 2nd part xx
Another great adventure. Prime for me was the camera coming back to life, just loved it. And the fact that the 45 played just blew me away. Thanks so much Si, so wish I could join one day.
Cheers Mudlover👍🏻🐾🧡
It's the Year of the Dragon, too! Oh, the camera is a real treasure!!! Marvellous!
Yay Monica -- now you're into my area of antiques -- cameras! That's a rare find and it held up very well for 75+ years in the water!
I know! If leather can last this well, then what hope do we have of plastic breaking down
@@Sifinds -- Yep -- plastic is not designed to breakdown (maybe recently, but I doubt it!) -- many cameras in the 30's through the 50's were made of bakelite -- and that gets brittle as it ages, but it also is probably going to last for thousands of years. And it doesn't help that people throw these things into rivers, ponds, reservoirs -- and as you saw, a lot of that stuff is pretty recent....
Brilliant as always. Great job on the clean up. Fascinating to hear the 45 , see the camera restoration and all the recovery. Keep up the great history tracking and work you do.❤❤❤❤❤ nuce cover Sean's the best.
Good morning Si. Another great day for all. The finds were awesome. Thank you for sharing this wonderful experience with you and the others. ❤❤❤
Cheers Rose👍🏻🐾🧡
Great to see the clean up and everyone being so cheerful ..
Although I I’m pretty sure they’re Chinese tea cups rather than egg cups .. 👍🏼
What a great community service, with high interest finds!
Cheers Helen👍🏻🐾🧡
I love how you always tell the history of different things. Thank you keep up the amazing job.
Cheers Dawn👍🏻🐾🧡
Well that took me back to the 60's!
Thank you Simon love watching your channel😍
Great clean up from everyone with some great finds too. Take care and thank you for sharing 👏🙏❤️
when you pulled out the anniversary bag my first thought when i saw the items coming out were it was a dead child marraige which would be really sad but i was so happy to find it was a celebration of a long marraige instead
Excellent as always.
Love Sean's cover!
Great wasn’t it
My guess was The Beatles .....
Can't believe it ! That was the first 45 record I ever bought in the 1960's. Still have it.
Well done for cleaning it up and playing it.
I'm glad you all of youve been out out there cleaning up
Cheers Marti👍🏻🐾🧡
Woohoo 🥳 I guessed correctly with the Beatles ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜 Amazing finds Si everyone found something! Great team work cleaning up the river ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
Well done Susan! 👍🏻🐾🧡
I absolutely love that the record played!!!! You all bagged so much trash ! Great work!
Monica, you are so good at resorting and what a find
Loved hearing the woman talking about her camera find very interesting hope she gets it sorted even more x
Fitting finds for the year of the Dragon!! Great video!! ☮️💟🇨🇦
Agreed! 👍🏻🐾🧡
Loved these river clean ups ! Great idea about a set place for people to give the offerings 😀
Cheers Judy👍🏻🐾🧡
Great treasures! Those coins were all really interesting. All the offerings are interesting. I only ever heard of these kinds of offerings in movies. I wonder if they do offerings in some of the bigger cities, like New York, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles and Seattle, here in the US, where they have bigger communities of ethnic peoples. I've almost always lived in smaller towns. I guessed The Beatles with the record but didn't put it in the comments last time. As always a great start to a Sunday morning. Now I'm off to watch a video from Nicola. Awaiting the next adventure!🙂
Cheers Beth!👍🏻🐾🧡
I love the song recording!! Well done!
Cheers Laurie👍🏻🐾🧡
Hey si really fascinating today I was glued to your video not sure if it’s a good thing to move the pray mate and offering still great viewing thanks for sharing ❤
Can’t believe the 45 played - YEA!!! The camera restoration is amazing!
Cheers Lee👍🏻🐾🧡
Cheers Lee👍🏻🐾🧡
Hello si, thanks for taking us with you on your mudaholic adventures 🙂.
Those spent bullets are pretty cool when upcycled , I new a bloke that made ball point pens and all manner of cutlery+ letter openers from them.
Watching again because the signal in the field earlier was dodgy and I missed loads!!!
18:11 First a book cover, now a newspaper article! Maybe being a hand model is your true calling?!? You do have magic fingers after all 🙌🏼
Cheers Beth👍🏻🐾🧡
The 54 rounds are standard UK issue RG Radway Green No.7 Ball.
I guessed the record correctly. The Beatles!!!! Too cool. Love the camera, coins. Loved everything.
Cheers Deb!
I've watched every video since like 2019/2020. I wonder how many that has been. The only youtube channel I watch every episode.
The Chinese cup you found has a dragon on it, (the blue one) and the writing says "Fire". That copy script goes back 3000 years.
And. Now we are in the year of the wood dragon
Very interesting thanks!
Cannot believe I guessed it. I said, probably “twist and shout”. My intuition is on point!! Wild
Did you post that?? Or say it to yourself?
What a fantastic job on the camera! Super exciting for you.
She did a great job!
Love the old camera. Shells could be melted down to make something new.😊
Really enjoyable video and Monika did a fantastic job with the camera !!!
Cheers Jill👍🏻🐾🧡
The bullet cases are .303 British, RG stands for their maker - Radwell Green - and the date, 1954.
Yes, a .303 British Mk 7 cartridge case. I have some unfired rounds from that year.
After watching many videos of river cleanups, I see that much of the detritus is composed of so-called offerings. Trash is trash. I like the idea of dedicated spaces for offerings. It's annoying. :(
Cheers Liz
Your channel just appeared in my feed and it sounded really interesting so I watched this episode and I'm hooked!!! I'm now a new subscriber looking forward to watching all of the videos that you've already got and looking forward to seeing what the future holds!!
I also wish I could be there doing what you're doing!! But I live across the pond in Canada 🇨🇦 🍁.
Alright Mudlover! Glad you could join us! Sit back and relax and enjoy the back catalogue!!👍🏻🐾🧡
Another fantastic mudventure, Si. Love it. It is depressing how much garbage ends up in the waterways. People are terrible for that. Also, I understand the offerings of course, but I wish they were more biodegradeable. There must be a way for them to make their offerings but in an environmentally-conscious way. Looking forward to the next video.
Cheers Suzanne - agreed 👍🏻🐾🧡
