When I was younger I owned a 1985 CR500R and it was a beast, just an incredible amount of power. I’m 55 now but I’d love to find another one just to have it, bring back memories and such.
Better have lots of cash on hand to buy one now days. Pandemic made more people realize that most likely a 500 2 stroke motocross bike will never be built at factory level again. Paid $2500 for a great condition 87 CR500 last year, but now price is more like 5k! Not even a year later. Its one of the prices that will not go back down post-pandemic (post-stimulus). Good luck!
it is the biggest thing the cr500 was known for is being sold soon after it was bought because its just way to fast. male ego and reality collide. a person needs alot of skill and restraint to handle that beast in the dirt.
you are a lucky lucky guy,i really enjoyed watching that beast cr 500 ripping super moto thats about as good as it gets bro.two thumbs up you lucky dog.i miss it so much
You're right I had had much more fun on you're CR500 than my Aprillia RS 250, I cannot wait to get my own CR500 ready!!! Next year I’ll bring My Aprilia RS 250 with a Skidoo 740 CC engine. It weighs 150 kg with full gastank and has 150 HP
Love the AF man got one myself but not a super moto, just for trail riding ;) cheers the the video, amazing to see how powerful it is against the street bikes.
Sorry. No offense. Mustard and all was too much. I thought you did it on purpose. My last name is a state of mind so I get a lot of name jokes as well :) Take care!
It's actually me (owner) on an Aprilia RS250 and the Aprilias owner on my CR. We swapped for a stint after the promise I would get to ride his Polaris 700cc stroker in a RS250 chassi. No luck so far... :)
haha kind of like the tularis but a bit smaller :p i know supermoto and racers are a total difference but which do you prefer? I've been looking for a 250 cc racer but so far aprillia seems one of the cheaper ones to buy for trackracing..
For dirtbike and supermoto I see riders someitimes use knee out and sometimes foot out, which one is the right way and why do supermoto/dirtbike riders use foot out instead of knee?
Hey buddy! There you are. You found me. Thanks for letting me try your racer! I've always wanted to do that. If you bring that bike, can we switch bikes again? :-D Take care my friend
There was a guy on a forum i was on who was building his own 1000cc v twin 2 stroke using two CR500 top ends to go in an RS250 chassis iirc. Some of the pics of the crankcases he was machining himself were pure porn...hope it did finally happen...
...or the guy I passed was going slow :-D Well, the grip was good even though I was practically running slicks, but they were half-baked in tirewarmers before the stint in the rain
HI. Your bike seems working very well. But I think you'd better to reduce the throttle when the engine is hot. She will start easier and don't give piston choks when you are in corner with reduced gaz
Lone Gamer Yeah it sounded like a 80cc but it wasn't the engine i was wondering about, more like the shape :-D It looked like an old school rice rocket in pocket bike size :-D
Why is it that half of the CR500s on UA-cam are running really lean on idle? Listen to the thing on its way into a corner and when he's coming into the pits; it's not happy.
+JETZcorp One possible explanation is that the lean condition actually gives a bit more horsepower.. while it does run hotter, it delivers a bit more power than a rich or stoichiometric condition.
iggy3200 That's usually more true on main jets though. The lean sound is happening on a closed-throttle, indicating it's the pilot that's too lean. My guess is, like the 750 Kawasaki, the engine design just resists tuning in that speed-load region. In the case of the 750 it's caused by too large an intake port volume resulting in poor signal to the carb. On a CR500 with reed valves I don't know.
I thought my 500 actually was very linear compared to smaller two strokes. Massive midrange and no top end rush. I ported it and that only enhanced this.
oh ya look at the bruises, want a 500? you better expect this unless you live on a hill lol upshift even twice and crack a wheelie, insane machine at the least faint hearted riders beware the beast
Road boots are no good for kicking a CR500! Lol. I had the same foot injury from kicking mine in work boots. Mx boots are the only way to go. Also 4 complete cycle slow kicks beforehand works wonders! Then one good kick from just past top dead center and she fires up first good kick every time!
4:47 was like the angriest motorcycle noise I've ever heard. It sounded like an extremely displeased hornet.
When I was younger I owned a 1985 CR500R and it was a beast, just an incredible amount of power. I’m 55 now but I’d love to find another one just to have it, bring back memories and such.
good times right there!...all different bikes running together...you know everyone is grinning ear to ear
I loved every second of this, thank you. from Nottingham, UK.
upvote for being from Nottingham
Now I want to build up a CR500, just need to find one first!
Better have lots of cash on hand to buy one now days. Pandemic made more people realize that most likely a 500 2 stroke motocross bike will never be built at factory level again. I got one and I'm selling it for 5k a complete motor only hahah
@@justinritter7925if you have good hand any 2 stroke work same every rebuild. Of course the cilinder head need replacing in future
@fernamon2155 my cylinder needs to be resleeved now.
@@justinritter7925 yea, if you have a 15 20 years old bike whit 7 different owners that’s make sense
Cr500 seems to be pretty badass :). One day I'll be buying one.
The little 80/85 cc bikes have massive power bands. I couldn't imagine a 500 tuned the same!
Tiny powerbands you mean!
@@fastandycTrue, narrow powerband, massive power
i love how the tone of this thing totally changes when you go wide open. absolute BEAST!!! i want one
it is the biggest thing the cr500 was known for is being sold soon after it was bought because its just way to fast. male ego and reality collide. a person needs alot of skill and restraint to handle that beast in the dirt.
thelaughingman79 that is for sure.
gotta love the BIG BORE 2 STROKES!!!! Nice video!!!!!!
you are a lucky lucky guy,i really enjoyed watching that beast cr 500 ripping super moto thats about as good as it gets bro.two thumbs up you lucky dog.i miss it so much

Dude you ripped on that, nice. Gotta love those 500s man.
Love the AF man got one myself but not a super moto, just for trail riding ;) cheers the the video, amazing to see how powerful it is against the street bikes.
An absolute menace to any track. Your making cr500 riders everywhere proud. Even the bannedcr500riders.
that thing must be blast to ride. i really wanna get a 2 stroke 500 supermoto for tracks. i am riding husky 701 sm now.
impressive ride...what gearing you used in this video?
DAMN! Sweet bike! And you were haulin the damn mustard!
Lots of condiments here :D
That's seriously my last name!
Sorry. No offense. Mustard and all was too much. I thought you did it on purpose.
My last name is a state of mind so I get a lot of name jokes as well :) Take care!
Slayo710 Q
Sjysst video. Känns bra att vi aldrig var nära varandra på banan när du satt på CR:en. ;)
Du är snabb, det är det som syns.
Right - I'm deffo gonna have to get me one of these ! ebay watch list starting NOW
I got a 84' CR500. Im re-building this monster. My idea it`s a Motard. Any advice/tip you can give me?
+Juan Manuel “Juancho” Romero KEEP IT UP MAN!!!!
+keith lumb Tnks! !!
Hopefully ya got it... but my advice is ride it hard
A classic old 50cc racer :)
Great vid man, must ask what the bike at 4:50 was? Looked tiny!
A very old 50cc racer. That's all I know
van veen or kreidler maybee
airslug1 Could be a Minarelli or a handmade one too possibly
+Kasper Lindström Or old derbi. Those thing are rare
Any sort of a cush drive on your CR? Nice video.
It was on the cool-down lap, after the checkered flag and the dane was riding the 500. Camera's always on my helmet.
Nice bike and driving man. Do you know which bike is following you with the camera?
It's actually me (owner) on an Aprilia RS250 and the Aprilias owner on my CR. We swapped for a stint after the promise I would get to ride his Polaris 700cc stroker in a RS250 chassi. No luck so far... :)
haha kind of like the tularis but a bit smaller :p i know supermoto and racers are a total difference but which do you prefer? I've been looking for a 250 cc racer but so far aprillia seems one of the cheaper ones to buy for trackracing..
I prefer racers. I like speed :)
Med lägsta drevning, vad kan du få som högst i toppfart på hojen tro? 200?
500 2stroke sounds awesome!
For dirtbike and supermoto I see riders someitimes use knee out and sometimes foot out, which one is the right way and why do supermoto/dirtbike riders use foot out instead of knee?
This looks like one of the most fun races ever. I wish I could put my yz250 onto races like this!
what kind of sprockets do you have front and rear?
why are you not wrapping that deal out????practically lugging a 2 stroke?
nice ride what gearing do you use?
You've got some skills there man..
Hey buddy! There you are. You found me. Thanks for letting me try your racer! I've always wanted to do that.
If you bring that bike, can we switch bikes again? :-D

El sueño del pibe !!!
for sure!!
Great rid, but I'll rev match to keep power and launch: when gassing⛽️ enough, and downshifting💨to accommodate road-race, and track conditions👌
Then point on Supermotos is not comparing Dirt to Street bikes...
...or the guy I passed was going slow :-D
Well, the grip was good even though I was practically running slicks, but they were half-baked in tirewarmers before the stint in the rain
I used to own one, bad ass bike!
Any idea what top speed is ???
Float height seems a little high
what was that little bike at 4:47? #62
looks like a yamaha RA31A to me
thanks for the reply.. i didnt know about the yamahas from back then.
hur fort går monstret?
Är detta ifrån Linköping?
Dude the rain.....I have a 97 CR500 Sumo and I am afraid to ride it in the rain!
wow that RS250 is really fast also. you got him on the brakes though.. :)
Roadracers were not over 125-250ccm. But still alot of fun there! GL hf mate! Cheers
Made my day. Thumbs up.
HI. Your bike seems working very well. But I think you'd better to reduce the throttle when the engine is hot. She will start easier and don't give piston choks when you are in corner with reduced gaz
4:47 WTF???????
I think that 85cc or 125cc.

LifeIsShort SoHaveFun yeah.
hahaha that is what I said as well =D
Lone Gamer 50cc GP bike most likely
Hur många kubik är plastraketerna på?
125 och 250 mestadels
How about CR500 supermono
Simply awesome.
CR500 in the rain.....!!!
Chek it out with sun!
Honda CR 500 Motard (2001) onboard camera - GoPro Hero 3 Black
OMFG i freakin love 2 strokes
Turn your idle down dude ,they shouldn't surge like that, just blip the throttle to keep it idling and on the long run downs to stop it seizing :)
imagine a cr500 motor in a aprilia or honda rs frame
thats my dream..i ll do it one day sure
What is unfair in Swedish?
No, but I wouldn't mind one. I have broken two chains so far :)
open bikes are easier to ride. You shift less and let the torque do the work. Don't over rev them, you will only go slower.
Why is it that half of the CR500s on UA-cam are running really lean on idle? Listen to the thing on its way into a corner and when he's coming into the pits; it's not happy.
Kinda how i jet my trx250r's. Lean is mean.

Växlar du inte väldigt tidigt med 500an?
So you got passed by a bike a tenth your bikes size? :P
Boy's on those 250s definitely something wrong with them on the brakes!
early gear shift??? I think so.....
nope, the cr500 just does not rev like the 125cc 2 strokes. it sounds lower. its supposed to sound like that.
You may not know this but the cr500 powerband is not full throttle. It's at about 6-7k rpm I think.
43shadows Ye, max power is around 7k rpm, no profit rev over it.
if i remember between 6&7k you get a 14hp injection aka power band
I thought my 500 actually was very linear compared to smaller two strokes. Massive midrange and no top end rush. I ported it and that only enhanced this.
Most people these days (except a lucky and brave few) are really clueless to how RIDICULOUS the bottom and midrange was on a big bore 500 MX O_O
SCARY cornering speed of the cr500 motard, my goodness...
Awesome 2 strokes!!!
oh ya look at the bruises, want a 500? you better expect this unless you live on a hill lol upshift even twice and crack a wheelie, insane machine at the least faint hearted riders beware the beast
Hmm, this could be my next bike. Anyone got a 500 laying around?
this video is BOSS
Det var första gången jag blev omkörd av ett höghus som dessutom bromsade sist av ALLA.Helt absurd känsla :)
Rode one a few years back. I mean to say the cr500 rode me😫
Exhaust is blowing
Jäkla grymt
Oh my god! oh my god!!!!
thats one sweet bike
Your gonna seize the engine when you let off the gas and don’t give braps to lubricated the engine
650 stroker kit -_-
Sick
15-41
The balls on this guy!! How do you sit and ride!? what kinds of tires can do that?
The Zohan it's a supermoto, you're supposed to sit the whole time you shouldn't stand up once
nice ride
4:47 WTH is that?
5:19 AYEEEEE someone Swedish or Norwegian! I live in Norway
the engine braking is killing me inside little by little
Road boots are no good for kicking a CR500! Lol. I had the same foot injury from kicking mine in work boots. Mx boots are the only way to go. Also 4 complete cycle slow kicks beforehand works wonders! Then one good kick from just past top dead center and she fires up first good kick every time!
Those bikes are no match for a 500CR I KNOW USED TO RIDE
nice!
im friends with the guy who invented tire warmers!
It's not the size of the engine. It's the size of the balls.
their crazy fast aren't they :D
The cr sounds leen.
4t>2t
Goes like stink!
Lol I see.
4:45 bike whit a motor xd xd jaja
as soon as I saw, "it wheelies in the wet" I knew it was a bunch of dumbaxxes..nothing wheelies unless you don't know how to ride!
listen pal, everything wheelies if you know how to ride. you got that totally wrong.
