I love how your place is coming together 😍 I definitely think an L-shaped chaise sofa would look great and be comfy for lounging. Also, perhaps a more compact dining table where the chairs are able to be stored underneath or with a bench that you can tuck under when not in use. But keep up the momentum, it's looking good!
I'm a huge fan of placing a couch away from the wall. It truly does make a room more dynamic. And the TV wall looks great! (Protip: Mod Podge is awesome, but give the rim of the jar a wipe with a damp cloth after using it, or you'll never be able to open it again!) And, if you've never watched Caroline Winkler on YT, I highly recommend. You will find sooooo much inspiration for design stuff. This is gonna sound crazy, but perhaps consider looking in the orange color family for the bedroom paint. Orange and green are complimentary colors, and a soft apricot, for example, would really do justice to the bedding. It would also pull in the colors from that beautiful puzzle. Bonne chance finding the perfect couch and chair for your cozy living room! ❤
Bonjour, Arielle! Loving your channel! 🌸 From a design standpoint, painting the entire bedroom would probably make it feel much smaller. It's a lovely, bright room, though! Have you considered Buttercream Yellow paint for the headboard wall only, to compliment the lovely Sage Green bedding? You could also do a headboard wall wallpaper, with maybe a white background and Buttercream Yellow flowers. You could paint the other 2 walls Buttercream Yellow, or not, but it wouldn't make the room feel smaller. You'd want to move the puzzle/picture to one of the other walls, if you used wallpaper, though. I like the suggestion of putting a large mirror above the IKEA unit. You could find a vintage one from a dresser, that has scroll trim on the sides, so you can hang your purses. LOVE the new living room orientation! I wouldn't go to the expense of a new couch. You have a beautiful one already! You could get a vintage ottoman, and place a wooden tray on top, and turn it to the side to prop your feet up. 👍 You could skootch the couch up a little more, and get a padded storage bench to place behind the couch, and move it to the picture wall for more seating. You could also get 4 new vintage dining chairs that have a bit more padding, to use for extra seating, or just use the ones you have, and add seat cushions to the 2 wooden ones. I also agree about turning the dining table around, to give you more room. Keep up the good work, Arielle et Jean!! 💞 P.S. I think you both are adorable! 🌸
Put a large mirror over the IKEA unit in the bedroom as it wok reflect light and make the room seem larger. You need another picture over the bed so it looks more balanced.
Looks great! Have you tried turning the kitchen table sideways? That would give you more space between the couch and table. If you get a smaller couch where will friends sit? Love the puzzle you guys did!💞
Love to witness your process of thinking about options, selecting one and putting it into fruition . Love the main room result and am looking forward to seeing end result of bedroom makeover. Great collaboration.
The apartment is looking better and more inviting all the time! Maybe you could find some sort of hook system that has some way to wrap around the pipes in the corner of your bedroom to hang your purses, kind of coming down the corner. (It would hide the pipes a little, too. I feel the purses would clutter the wall above your shelving system a bit and remember, it is a room for both of you. (I know my husband, might tolerate it, but probably wouldn't love having my purses as decor in our bedroom.)
Okay, you win the prize for most consistent, amazing lip color. What do you wear? It's the perfect pink and I'm always on the lookout because inevitably I find one I love and it gets discontinued. Thank you!!
Great progress! From the beginning, I was thinking console and you did it! Love the couch, but a smaller L shape sectional would be perfect. That puzzle picture IMO should go where the calendar is in the kitchen. Bedroom, I'd paint the wall behind the bed a color like sea green and put a rectangular mirror or picture, but I like a mirror!! Keep it up...Coming along!! We are renovating a 4 BR/2Bth house in Portugal 😜
I love how the puzzle turned out, but wonder if it would be more suiting for the dining/kitchen area? Also, I’ve always thought lighter paint colors can open up small rooms, while darker colors can shut down a room, especially where lighting is lacking. Was looking forward to seeing where you put Jean’s medal holder. Did I miss that? I love the genuine person that you are Arielle and I’m enjoying your channel.
Hi Arielle, fun video. Enjoyed watching your interior design choices in such a Parisian space. Just wondering, do you feel you have enough storage or more storage with the shelves your installed around t.v? I feel it's always tricky when using such shelves since they do offer storage options but are mostly used in a decorative way. The balcony is a real cute space and so amazing how you built that seating area.
Your apartment looks so good. So cozy. What about getting a smaller sectional or L shaped sofa? That way there are more seating options and you don't have wasted space on that wall where you originally had the sofa? For the bedroom, what about peel and stick wallpaper? A lot of youtubers renting apartments are going for that option instead of painting. Tons of cool patterns and colors.
Ohh I love the colors on the bed! It could be cool to color match the blue and cream on the bed and have 3 stripes on the walls. I can see it but not sure how to describe it! Have 3 stripes stagger across the wall at the corners (on the wall with the storage cabinet)
What if you built a shelf above the door , wall to wall and continuing around the corner to the next wall? It would give you so much storage for books and hanging plants etc. Then on the wall where you removed the little shelf and below the wall to wall overhead shelf you could place several smaller shelves. The puzzle picture should be moved lower by at least 6 inches as it looks too high to me.
I’m way older than you. And I’m retired. So I’m getting myself a rebounder, to jump on. And if I like that I may get myself a Pilates reformer. I’m trying to figure out where I could put that. I live in a small house. Our granddaughter lived in a really small apartment. We bought her a small sectional. She had it for quite a while. And it was not expensive. We live in the US and went to the back room at a local furniture store. It was a perfect fit. I would look into peel and stick wallpaper. They have so much out there. And then you don’t have to paint. And you can use your laser level again.
Change your table to a drop leaf round table. For a chair get a swivel glider chair and a couple of poufs instead of an ottoman for setting feet on or additional seating
Please don't put checkers on the wall, I think you would get tired of them too soon. Maybe look into some wallpaper? There are so many options, and since the bedding is so calm, you could get away with a pattern on the wall. And Ikea has some coat racks that you can hang on the wall vertically that might be handy for your purses and other things.
Hopefully, you don’t have neighbours living downstairs. With hardwood floors the noise could travel downstairs. Perhaps putting a pad under the walking pad will help muffle the sound. Also, why not move the TV to the wall opposite the couch so the couch will stay where it was originally situated so the kitchen table is not so close to the couch. Once the tv has been moved to the other wall you can add art work and storage cabinets to help with your stuff (clothing etc).
I never quite understood the appeal of a walking pad. I could read emails or documents, but typing or writing would not be possible for me while walking.
Let me ask you do you feel you need to justify ecto us why you bought something? Just say bause my job Requires me to be at my desk all day I need more exercise, And you know as I live in the small pair of apartment a treadmill wouldn't fit so the walking pet fits that need of getting exercise and still allowing me to work at my desk boom done. You take a long time to get to the point. I'm not trying to be mean but sometimes you just ramble, and have so much to tell us that you speak so fast you chop off words os mumble them. Slow down and annunciate.
Jean deserves a prize for most supportive and tolerant boyfriend! ❤

Ahhhhhhh I love the soft apricot colour suggestion ! I never would have thought about it but i think it would work really well !

Jean is a sweetheart.😊
Love the decor, and the little bumblebees love it!!! Random unrequested comment- have you considered doing bar stools and no dining table 🤷🏽♀️

The living area is really coming together. The picture frame with nothing in it is throwing me off but everything else looks amazing.

Love all your shelves with plants!! Where did you get that puzzle? It is so beautiful!!
Jean is such a nice guy 😊 you are a very cute couple.
Not sure about the wall color, but if you get hooks you can hang your purses above the ikea cabinet.
Love the puzzle ❤

Ahhhhhh I see the vision ! And stripes would be a lot easier to paint than checkers 😂
@@Ariellelaparisiennemaybe haha
Love the puzzle picture!! Good touch!
Thanks ! ☺️
Have you tried the sofa at angle? Or moving the table behind the sofa?
Have you thought about a round dining table? Space savers and still functional.
Ahhhh great idea ! I’ll see what I can find 👀
@@Ariellelaparisienne You can also get a round table where both sides of it fold down.
I don’t know where to ask this but could you point me to your recipe for tiramisu overnight oats? Thanks
I have great luck choosing colors when I apply the principles of feng shui. Figure out the compass directions of your walls.

Just curious, do you not put curtains on your windows or is that a preferred taste?
Change your table to a drop leaf round table. For a chair get a swivel glider chair and a couple of poufs instead of an ottoman for setting feet on or additional seating
Love the idea of the round table ! I also wanted poufs but then I was worried about all the floor space the would take up 😂
@@Ariellelaparisienne not if you get a drop leaf one
jean is sooo handy dandy!!

For someone who's not trying to be mean, you did a pretty good job of it. And have you ever tried fast-forwarding? Might solve your problem.
