The disc had a couple scratches and it wouldn't play on my PS2. I could only play the first level then it would freeze every time. I ended up selling all my PS2 stuff which included several valuable games for both PS2 and PS1 for $35 in 2009 so I could get a PS3. I kick myself in the ass everyday for doing that. If I kept all the games, they would be worth easily $500 today, I had some good shit.

There should be a prequel to this game called Maximo Ghouls of Grim where Grim owns the spear and tries to rule over the kingdom and Achilles "helps" you only to dick you over and claim the staff for himself. The opening seems like the end of a game anyway where as soon as Maximo opens the door to the castle the credits roll by.
What difficulty setting was this on? I already know you're a god but I NEED to know how godly! I played this game when I was in elementary school, did it even have a difficulty setting?
well i'll admit, it's "somewhat" kinda hard if it's your first time playing maximo. but the game is fun, it has it own classic feel, and difficult level design and enemies. but if you're use to dying a lot, losing continues, or any mistakes throughout the game it's up to you. if you did bought the game and have any trouble? feel free to check out my walkthrough of maximo. btw if you're familiar to ghost n goblins (or ghouls n ghost) dark souls (but in this game style), then you'll might have a quite of a journey dude.

unfortunately the pool is the ONLY place to save your game or when you defeated a boss and rescued one of the sorceress (you'll be given three items as an option, one is armor, two is to save your game, or three receive a kiss from her). and yea it's kind of a bummer tho. and im glad you're enjoying it dude.
