Luke Chapter 7

STUDY QUESTIONS
1. Why do you think John the Baptist sent some of his disciples to ask Jesus if he was the Messiah? Why did John send two disciples and not just one or maybe a dozen disciples? Read John 18:7 (AMP). Does this change or expand your answer? What does this say about John?
2. What do you think Jesus meant when He said: “God blesses those who do not fall away because of me.”? How do we respond when the ways of Jesus don’t seem to live up to our religious traditions? How do we respond when our prayers are not answered in the ways the way we want?
3. Jesus said: v 28 I tell you, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John. Yet even the least person in the Kingdom of God is greater than he is!” How can those who come after John and live in the era of the Kingdom of Heaven be greater than John who was the bridge to the new era and pointed people to it? (Read 1 Peter 1:1-22) How has our relationship with God changed in this new era after Jesus to before Jesus? What does this say about God?
4. What do you think Jesus meant when He said: v 35 “But wisdom is shown to be right by the lives of those who follow it.”? Look up Luke 7:35 in the AMP, NET and EXB versions found in the Bible App and see if it helps gain a better understanding.
