I’d love to see this become a little series of sort. Some with lower countries like Gibraltar, Bahamas, San Marino, etc and others with a “golden generation” who are dark horses like USA, Turkey, etc but with those ones maybe not make the ratings 200 but instead just give them a slight boost to see how long it takes for them to win it
I think population size is probably a major limiting factor on how far you can go even with the ultimate youth rating (in terms of producing a whole team of world class players)
Gibraltar Apex for me is probably the best FM series on UA-cam… God do I miss those days, the fact he never did it again in newer FM’s sucks but it also makes the series so much more unique
As a Malaysian, I will try the same thing (world ranking around 150 irl) and see what will happen. Incredible video and experiment, maybe you can try other smaller nation in other region
@@Rakettivuori It just means more players better trained with more money overall, if would've built up the league system and gave players that would've only been decent or even bad a bigger chance to be good because of the training facilities, more Gibraltar players coming through overall definitely wouldn't have hurt even if I'm wrong
In my journey men save i did get a youth player from gibralta at my first club (Dukla Prag) and he moved with me to Hull (League One, Championship and PL) and now plays for me at Malaga. Best youth player i ever had.
I had a youth player from Malaysia called Faisal Cheng who I signed for 100k when I got to league 2 with Maidstone United (blew my whole budget on this guy), found him through attribute searching and out of the 6 players I listed, he was the only one I got a work permit for because he had national & youth national caps. Became absolutely cracked and was at the club the whole time, saw everyone replaced and by the time he’d retired, we’d won a European trophy 🙏🏻
I did something like this in FM20 but with Andorra and starting from basic ratings. In 40 years, I took Jenlai to two Champions League titles, Inter d'Escaldes to one Europa League and Champions League, and FC Andorra to one Europa League and one LaLiga before putting the game into holiday for 60 years. Despite the fact the AI andorran teams completely failed to win a single continental cup since that point (UE Santa Coloma won a Conference League by itself in the last year I managed) and that FC Andorra collapsed fairly quickly after I left, the nation started pumping out top talents everywhere, and managed to beat Germany on penalties to end up third in the 2086 World Cup - their first one, actually.
My grandad was a referee for the Gibraltan league, his name was Robert Taylor. Have you heard of him, he also fought in the Falkland war based in the ascension islands. He died 3 years ago. R.I.P
Just watched this, brilliant as usual. The likliehood that not many teams won in Europe or the league boost is probably the fact all the top players went elsewhere, winning the World Cup shows that had the top players stayed in the league then champions leagues would have be competed in probably.
Villarreal and Gibraltar are 8 hours apart via a car journey, bit odd they keep going their haha, would of thought they would of gone closer like Sevilla or Malaga which is closer
Not sure if it was said but Callum Davidson is the current St Johnstone manager who won the cup double in the 20/21 season. St Johnstone then almost got relegated last season but let’s ignore that.
I went to Gibraltar once and bought the national team jersey. There were so kind and gave me a free copy of Football Manager 2020. Love Gibraltar I always cheer them on their national games
Hi luke, first of all thanks for your content because i love it, as you said that your father played in gibraltar, you could do a rebuild with the team where he used to play, i would love to see it, thanks and keep it going❤️❤️
I live near Gibraltar and Villareal is not close at all. Andalusian clubs like Betis, Sevilla or Cadiz are the nearest based teams to Gibraltar. Gibraltarian clubs regularly sign players from lower league andalusian clubs
Just wanna point out that guy at the end that won the ballon d'or 5 times in a row.. won those between the age of 31 and 35 if I'm not mistaken, which is quite crazy in it's own right.
Not sure if see this but oh well😂 love the video mate. I’m from Gibraltar and currently play at Glacis, also my great grandfather played for Glacis around the same time as your grandfather so they might of played together 😂
@@OmegaLukeGaming had a decent start to the season got the top have of the table ( as the Gibraltar league splits mid way through the season, so the stronger teams play each other and vise versa for the weaker teams) but then we weren’t able to get the good results as the season went on. If you try and develop Gibraltar normally it would take a while to develop them older players would retire but the league is not demanding enough so signing old stars can win you the title.
I enjoyed this, might be good to watch highlights of the world cups close to your 25 year pause points, maybe you need to have the save with full international details. A sim I'd like to see is if you sugar daddy'd a really small club, what the AI does with a big pile of money over time.
Speaking of bad luck Gibraltar seemed to have, I just wanna point out at 12:12 , 7 time runner up of the U19 European championship, won 0 times XD What are the odds of losing 7 finals in a row :/
Tq luke for listening to the suggestion 😁 Can we have a south east asian country next?obviously not thai though because they did go to the world cup in my saves 🤣 without any help, mybe malaysia/Philippines/indonesia perhaps?
Did you give hound dogs good youth recruitment/facilities too? (Since they're in the 2nd tier). If not it's even more surprising one of the ballon dor winners came from them

should've added that rating to India or China

Mark my words, if you also did the same to the second division as well as the first, you would've seen Gibraltar at number 1 🇬🇮
I don't think it would have made a difference as the second division is just a reserve league for the premier league teams + one extra team

Gibraltar Apex series got me into FM! Such a great concept
First save file I have seen Aston Villa do anything in xD. We nearly always become a yo-yo team in every simulate x years in FM video I have seen
"It was played in China as well"

The World Cup Final in China where Gibralter beat Brazil was played in a neutral venue in California.

You should do a series on this, really enjoy looking at regents and stats
It said China were the hosts of the World Cup but the final was played in USA. Strange.

I must confess. I didn’t sim it myself 😂
Love the history and love the video. So much fun! Amazing as always!!

Great episode Luke! Can see Frank Lampard and Federico Chiesa under neath Grealish. They managed to get some class managers haha.
They really did 😅
Did i see signing dutch player as a club culture? As an dutchmen myself, i find that funny and amazing lol

So good that series
You should do it with Greece, that would be interesting
I might do a quick Gibraltar save until the next game comes out
simulate with standard/equal transfer budgets each year. maybe 25m.
Definitely will be joining your spitch league in the summer when I turn 18
Looking forward to it

My Grandad played for Frickley Athletic, rocking it up in the NE Counties leagues. Prime candidates for a rebuild actually, bigger than Gateshead

Did you occasionally edit during the game? Like club facilities may drop after some years
Nope, just simulated the 100 years 🤙
Ive built a 4-1-2-1-2 with arsenal and omg i won the league in first season and currently in second season at december and unbeaten in league

Yeah I did every team in Gib 🤙
try the same thing but with northern ireland
Villarreal is no where near Gibraltar, almost a 9hr drive away and even longer by train or plane. Gibraltar is close to Marbella & Cadiz though
Very weird 😅
12:56 Suriname made it to the knockouts of a World Cup😱
Fair play to them!

Why was the final of the Chinese World Cup played in Pasadena rose bowl?
Id love to see you do it with iceland and see if they can beat england again

Nice content, but actually the Euros is more competitive and harder than winning the WC
I think it’s harder to win the World Cup than the euros so I’d have to disagree
How do you simulate 100 years that would take forever?
