Just a thought you could have used grease to hold the seal in place. It really helps so it doesn't move

Very helpful thank you! I also have to change the oil pan filter on my 2010 maxima sv. Do i have to take the bolts out of the exhaust or can i get the oil pan bolts out with the exhaust still on?

No it’s just common spot this leaks from
22mm deepwell socket to take retainer bolt loose.
how long are those gaskets good for? I think i have the same problem on my 2012 maxima.

which year is this Nissan Maxima? and what is part number for the O-ring?
This one is 2008 I don’t have part number unless I show it in the video but u can get it from dealer $12
can this cause smoke when your engines warm up when you accelerate it and you smell a oil burning smell and drips from this location?
Usully not this but if it’s leaking up on top valve cover seals then it will drip on to manifolds and burn and smoke and smell

That’s an aged out car could be other leaks but they do leak from these seals and valve covers

Yeah they all the same even Nissan Murano but u can just ask for the seal for Altima if u go to part store

I have an 07 maxima that’s leaking oil. I took it to a shop and told me it wasn’t even worth fixing. Car and transmission are good for a high miles car. Didn’t even bother to check where the leak was coming from. What would you recommend
Enrique L. Torres I would recommend to get proper diagnostic this job in this video is under $300 if ur oil pan is leaking u can that job is about $300 also not worth throwing out the car figure out where dose ur car stand dose it need lotta other repairs then make the decision. Please subscribe
I have the same issue.. I replaced everything and made sure its done properly but its still driping
How do I know if it’s this or the oil pan
I have this O-ring to replace but I’ve done the oil pan (used gasket maker) and also replace the valve cover gaskets n added gasket sealer there also. I also noticed on other videos ther is a gasket sealer on the front of engine ( passenger wheel side). Also check the hoses below the pwr steering resivor.. I would recommend using a lotta brake cleaner n rags, then wash with high pressure hose, let it dry then run the vehicle and resolve where the leak is coming from.
Will the same prosess applies to 2012 nissan rogue?

You didn’t clean anything up so u don’t know if it leaking or can tell
