u can love that food service----i retired from the trade unions in los angeles, ca--as a teen i would have liked my own fast food store or working 4 someone--i enjoyed it.
see... all Marines even on the highest rank levels deal with some sort of darkness or tough days... but thats why those are some of the greatest leaders on the planet because they know how to stay composed in some of the worst situations and times in their lives
I know this was a long time ago, but congratulations Master Sergeant Mayfield ! I went to the school house in Ft Lee, Virgina. I never personally met him, but he introduced himself to my class once.
I personally know MSGT Mayfield he was my SSGT back in Okinawa Japan back in 2009. Kind of made me tear up a little. Always have love for you. Although I'm in the Army I will be a Marine and follow the Marines ways and bring them to the Army. Thank you for sharing this video Mr. D
I cannot wait for my boyfriend promotion ceremony he is ranking in the military as an EA and then he said he's going to become a E9 I'm super excited I will be in California soon congratulations my brother you deserve it
Not ever on easy street his ansestors struggled to accomplish the right to get respect and fought and died for this country .now to the present he deserved that ceremony. And more .so don't be jealous
It's funny. It's rare I see Infatry Marines get to this rank without having another MOS. POGs seem to pick up rank fast when they dont don't really go to combat and kill and see Marines die. Then it's easy to do 20 years.
@@Abc123______ It is ridiculous to think that God (your God) is helping him get promoted so that he can teach others in the art of death. I am a retired Marine with 27 years in the Marines and the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant and I attribute that to being good at my job not to a God. Religious people are not all there.
It is true if I say it is I’m not religious, everyone needs something to believe in. If it helps you cope with certain situations, then in a way whatever that belief is helped you get where you are. It helps keep you humble, I’m in the army, and I’m great at what I do but my coping mechanism is getting everyone where they need to be. So I attribute my successes not just to myself, but to those soldiers because them knowing what to do helps me get to where I need to be. When things get hard most people look to religion, and it helps them get through. as a 27 year vet you should know this.
@@FactsDominate you know that religion caused more war than any other reason throughout the history of this planet. more people died in the name of god then any other thing. so thinking that god is a loveable thing is not a very good way to look at life. god does not equal peace. the last time we had world peace was when before the bible was created.
Sharp Marine! Looking good! Semper Fi!

i worked for him when he was a staff sergeant
So he's a first sergeant now? I can't see the insignia with these old eyes.
How nice way to do that

Nobody wants to be your friend till their hungry
I wonder if he's related to Gunny Mayfield that served in 4/11 during '80s.
Literally this was the same man that kind of saved me from going to Okinawa Japan because I wanted to stay with a woman whom I planned to marry.
is that mayfield from communications
@@GETBENT1331 yeah

He's on easy street with that promotion. He's probably retired by now
He's still active. He's actually Master Gunnery Sergeant select this year.

g f22 this comment is some dumbfuckery
g f22 POGs can still kill and see fellow Marines lose their lives don’t be fucking ignorant
A United States Marine trained to kill his enemies thanking the Lord for making him what he is. How hypocritical can he get.
Does it offend you?
