Sweet. I have been waiting to see that build. I have built a couple horses and I love them. Have an 70's sears chassis and a complete 73 ss16 . I have been wanting to build a sears for a while now . Truffles is the route I want to go. Low center of gravity and light weight and a few inches of stretch. Andy is a hell of builder.
I could use your help. I’m building a 60’s Sears custom into a mud mower. I’m using a 4” pulley on the transaxle and a 5” pulley on the engine. When I push in the clutch the shift into gear no matter how much tension is let off the belt it still turns the differential pulley making it grind and not go into gear. Should I try a bigger/ stiffer belt?
Sounds like you need a longer belt, along with some belt guards and a belt stop, check out some build videos here on youtube on belt set ups, i do not have any specific videos to recommend though
Thats okay, the whole entire chassis is custom one off, professional tube work, look up metal fabrication rates, and roughly 80-100 hours to build the chassis, not to include brand new tires, engine, a single pair of bead lock rings is $100, then you gotta install them on your wheels. When you really break it down this is a very expensive build
@redzz02 I'm not trying to hate on you I love all your videos and what you do. But yes you are right it is a expensive one compared to any other "machine". But there are different levels to this, and you sir on top might I say. I think with good paint on it it would really show its worth. But I also don't have experience with horizon drive mower builds, but my vertical shaft build, well I lost count in money going into it around $1200, and that was over a yr ago. Also yeah I have a idea on metal and fab work, I'm a welder/fab/mechanic. But nice machine dude!! Looking forward to the future content on it!
@@NSaneBuilds i know youre not hating! Thanks for the kind words, i was just explaining to you why it is actually expensive! Thanks for watching the videos and the comment!
This is my hobby, i strive to further the growth of the hobby in a positive way. I completely understand where youre coming from but in my eyes its just like going and buying an atv, car, motorcylce, truck and tricking it out with all sorts of bells and whistles, the only difference with mowers is, you can have a $50 mower build and a $2000 mower build and they will virtually be just as capable offroad. I spend my monies on cool offroad mower builds and some people spend money collecting stamps, its honestly just a preference thing
I love all the random colors
I love the look too but i think im gonna get the whole thing powder coated
Absolutely badass machine definitely worth the money for it
So bad ass!
Absolutely worth every penny. Love truffles.

Andy is such an amazing builder im honored he sold truffles to me! I cant wait to put some miles on it!
I don't blame you. Now get truffles out on some gnarly trails, shoot some footage and have a blast. Lol
@@crow4007 good evening ranch ride is coming up next weekend! I plan to put it through its paces!
Other than the atv carb is that all the engine has for mods
As far as i remember yes
Whats the most you would spend on an offroad mower or what is the most youve spent?
Oh my, Maximus was a chunk. I lost count after 6k.

@@redzz02 okay I appreciate your advice. Do you think surface rust on the engine pulley would cause my problem too?
@@garrenboysgarage surface rust inside the belt v groove where the belt makes contact very well could cause that issue
@@redzz02 okay thank you. My mower is exactly like the red Sears custom you showed in the video. It has the peerless 4 speed. Do they hold up well?
@@garrenboysgarage yes they are pretty stout rear end, id say top 4 strongest transaxle
Truffles? Yeah it looks like a pig dug it up
Naw that thing looks like it fuggs
Don't get me wrong it's a nice machine but I don't see anything that could be "expensive"

Art work is always expensive.

i dont understand an expensive mower, at that point there are many more fun options and you lose the appeal of the mower and what its about
