My DAD's DNA test is here ! ua-cam.com/video/dDfEVnjDEkw/v-deo.html
i WAS KINDA THINKING YOU HAVE A SIMILAR MAKEUP TO SINGER TORRI KELLEY. AT LEAST ON A PHYSICAL LEVEL AND i KNOW SHE IS MIXED RACE.
I forgot to mention, if you have Indian relatives from the Early 1600s, their DNA may not show up today. Consider that 10 generations means you had 1024 gr grandparents then. I only a few were Indian, they could've seen blocked by more recent additions to your Genome. 10 generations and 1024 gr grandparents makes it impossible to know your "etnicity" in a country with a lot of migrants.
Who were any of us 10 generations ago? One of 1024 people. The best way to find out who you are is to find out who they were.
Alexis, your dad is probably right look what one person said:
"FYI, my uncle (by marriage) who was born in Peru recently tested and is 87% Native American. Ancestry very accurate detects Native American heritage from Mexico, Central and South America, but not so much Native Americans from US tribes."
support.ancestry.com/s/question/0D5150000224MpQCAU/my-dna-testing-shows-no-native-american
The tests aren't testing for all tribes. They have limited samples & tribes in the database. If your dad for example has Chahta (Choctaw) ancestry for example and the DNA company only has samples for let's say Inca, Taino, Mayan, Aztec, & Mayan tribes (just examples) your Amerindian DNA won't pop up. That's the misleading part
Why are you so surprised/relieved you have black dna??. Obvisiouly you would, your dad is black. You get 50% from each parent.
@@guppy9713 its popular these days.ppl are racist against white ppl now. Its crazy how stupid ppl are, instead of ending racism they turn it around because of what Americans did.
I disagree with your test results. You are at least 70% hair.
Hilarious!
loloololol!
Excellent!!
Fabulous hair!!!!
I think someone missed the joke.
She clearly looks more white, but she also looks mixed .
Ms. Smith yes she definitely looks biracial to me as well especially with that hair.
veryserioz Yes but he don't look part African she do
she does look half black to me
Daphhh She do not look half black .She looks 1/4 like she is.
veryserioz not per se. Mixed race can go from white as paper, to dark as charcoal. Yes its more likely to have A darker skincomplexion , but it isn't nesscesary
You remind me of how Mariah Carey looked back in the 90s.
But prettier
@calaragazza she was but not as pretty
@calaragazza you missing my entire point. Mariah is s non factor in my eyes as i waste no time comparing.
@calaragazza true. True .very true lol. I'm out.
Yea, when Mariah was black
She said she is both black and white and claims herself as biracial. chill y'all. she's not claiming she is a 100% black.
Xochitl Rizo .. who cares That makes her no less- Black.
@@charlotteclark6061 no one said it made her less black, she claims both. But black people do care because of colorism.
@@Neverseenstars thats not what colorism is per say and also race has more to do with social constructs than anything biological. Also, there isnt anything or anyone "fully black"in the african diaspora or even in parts of Africa. Thats a myth used to perpetuate division. That IS a part of colorism. Not to mention the fact that race isn't even real in the first place but that's a different conversation
Many quote on quote fully black people identify with their european, native or even asian ancestry
@@charlotteclark6061 makes her white. And.. Black.
Before I watch this I will guess that you are about 75% white 25% black.
man I am good :P
I guessed the same.... it's a bit obvious. But, well done all the same ;)
john smith Naw, 25% black? She looks 100% white, her hair could be 75% black 25% white.
amy gutierrez She said, she was half & half... SMH
Lol
Bingo! We used to call my grandmother Indian when she actually was biracial. I guess they were ashamed.
People are only ashamed when they have white european ancestry. When it comes to every other racial group with racial slave owning & trading and/or ethnic genocide history, no one gives a shit. Everyone is happy to embrace african, arabic and latin european racist slave owners and genociders as their ancestors.
I laugh when I hear people proudly saying in this context, "I have latin european/west african ancestry!"
completely unaware of the possibility that they may have ancestors who directly participated in the trans-atlantic slave trade, you know, the ones responsable for the vast majority of african slaves being sent to the americas and enslaved there.
arab through all history they are the owner of the slave and that's why we have been fighting for many years because we like to be the owner until today we have an Indian, african,Chinese,Ethiopian,Bangladesh slave in the middle East.
nobody should be ashamed to be white nor ashamed of they're heritage at all
Kiki Doll maybe it was less to do with shame and possibly an attempt to feel nor "exotic" ... People still do it today. It's always cooler to be different/unique.
They used to be ashamed and or keep it a secret because rape was often the reason for the mixture of ethnicities
"74.2% European ... I was so scared I wasn't going to be black."
The US education system is doing "well" with the antiwhite propaganda
@@geminix365 yep, if she had said "white" instead of "black" they would have eaten her alive in the comments.
American Highlander nobody care real human are negroid.rest copy or mixed
@@kairuannewambui8456 Lol, you're a fool! I guess you believe the world is flat too.
They ARE a minority! U wouldn't know it because of TV or the movies. If all the "POC" (people of color) are grouped together, then whites would be a minority. Even the KKK & White Power would reject Italians, Gypsies, Spaniards, Jews , and Arabs....Btw, the KKK were a democratic organization and they are the ones running the school system trying to push whitey guilt even though the majority of whites were against slavery. They are probably laughing at blacks calling themselves People of Color being that the term sounds so close to the word "colored." What color was Lincoln? What party was he? Show me a democrat run town and I will show you blacks killing blacks there! Dems took over the school system and are pushing illegals have more privilege such as govt assistance and scholarships over blacks and also give "POC" extra points like they are disabled because they automatically assume they are not as smart and not as affluent as Whites and Asians. This is what Affirmative Action was about. Life isn't about victim Olympics and shouldn't be about identity politics either. As long as you see yourself as the victim, you will be. Watch the DSA convention and see how many mental cases of white people are there and they are the ones fighting to keep illegals in the country...they are the real r@cists.... without illegals and economic refugees, they wouldn't have anyone to feel superior to somehow. If any of these people lived in the hood, they would want to get rid of illegals and economic refugees that are causing tax paying people much hardship.
Seriously girl I'm biracial like you, my sister looks A LOT like you(beautiful) But be proud of ALL your heritage, that Irish and British is something to be proud of too.
I guess she might not be proud of it because she believes it came about in a really dark way.
@@chetachiabiaka674 the British liked to mix their Irish slaves with their black slaves. which explains why so many mixed blacks in America have Irish ancestry, besides english.
@Eliot Thexton I’m sayinggg like since when was white people slaves????🤨
@@isaiahgowdy7149 not quite slaves but treated the exact same way. They were indentured servants. There are stories/ actual documentaries of what the Irish went through. Just as horrible as black slaves. Most died on the boat to America.
They were split from their families. They were sold and auctioned to other people. If the master died they would then be owned by the wife. If they still owed money they would also give to the person who was owed money.
Since they couldn’t read or write many of them got screwed over on the time they had to serve. Some times their kids would be owned until they were 21. They also weren’t allowed to learn to read.
So yes people will say the Irish people were slaves. Bc they were treated as such. however bc of the terminology saying they had a contract and is legally binding they weren’t. Not to mention that they get time added if they had children. They got time added if they tried to run away. They got time added if they mouthed off or fought back.
The main difference between them is that once the agreed upon time a person was to serve came to an end they got to leave. But again, they had no where to go. No food.
Hate when people say they weren’t slaves just because of terminology. In the time they had to serve, that is what they were.
So yes they were. And no they weren’t.
Did she say she wasn’t proud. Why do people take it as a dig when someone identifies beauty in black features or herritage. No one complains when white features are glorified by biracial, so why should they feel ashamed for wanting the desire for their black inheritance to be present???
It's strange how in america you have this idea that you are black or white but elsewhere you'd just be who you are
vytae9 not really antiblackness is everywhere and so is Eurocentricity
In UK there is a lot less focus on race than in America. Its more about our different cultures, black people come from lots of different countries and so do the white people here. But in America both black and white people dont really know their true cultures so they just use race to enforce their culture.
Jorge... You hit the nail on the head. Europe didn't receive immigrants until the modern "PC" age. So of course it's not the same. They ingrained their racism on their colonies, and avoided most of that bitter division themselves by the simple fact that they didn't have to deal with other races where they lived in Europe. They basically dumped all of their racist imperialistic attitudes on other parts of the world, mainly the Americas, which has suffered a long-standing cycle that cannot be broken. Meanwhile Europeans get to act like they are away from it all, when in fact they started it all.
It is the sad truth. I had to grin when you mentioned everyone in the US thinking they have Native ancestry. It is so true. So many people I know have "rumors" of a Native American great-grandma. Nothing confirmed, of course. (In reality, it's usually black or white ancestry.) So yes, even if we have ancestors going back several generations on all sides, we feel like it's not good enough. The atrocities done to the Native people were just too terrible, too unforgivable. Our ancestors saddled us with guilt, and there's nothing we can do about it. If you're 100% Euro descent, deep down you feel like an imposter. But then if you're not white, you are bound to experience some level of dehumanizing racism. At least Latin America retained a lot of the Native blood. I wish the Native blood was a lot stronger here. In the US, there hasn't been quite as much inter-breeding between races. Too bad.
Here in Europe it's about nationality. I get a lot racist (if you can call it that) remarks about my polish family part. It's not about your race, It's about your nationality. Racism on another level yay!
All the pure ignorance with the comments. She has white and black features. I knew she had both by looking at her. Whatever she is, she is human and absolutely gorgeous.

Why the shock....she looks like a young Mariah Carey, who is also Bi-racial.
Classy-N-Clever-4EVA mariah carey was darker your very blind
Na, Mariah is Irish white and Venezuelan. She's pale, she tans like mad to appear darker.
Heh, i always thought danielle fishel was biracial. Apparently she’s just macedonian.
Rosa Lee her father is actually Afro Venezuela
Rosa Lee her dad is black and Venezuelan.
Gorgeous hair.
As an adoptee, with a unique ethnic look, I am so happy for people when they learn their ethnicity. I was so grateful that DNA became a thing in my lifetime, while I was still young enough to share with my children, etc. Peace and congratulations
im African, and in Africa, classification of race is more straight forward than in America, in my country. mixed race people are not identified as black but coloured, you're black only if both your parents are black
im brazilian and my country is like that too .....
We call mixed race people white or half cast in Nigeria, South Africans call them coloured.
Yeye Osun Do you consider North Africans as black?
Nicolette Benn not in Africa you mean in South Africa...mixed ppl are identified as colored.
+Vingadora Actually, that is not true. I live in Brazil and people are classified based on their color, not if they are mixed or not. Technically, most people called brancos (whites) in Brazil are mixed, just as most people called pretos (blacks) are mixed, but they simply have very light or darker brown skin. The people called pardo (literally meaning "brown skinned") are the "color" that is labeled as "mixed" in Brazil, basically the tanned or beige color.
In Brazil, a person can have a white parent and a black parent, but if that person is very light skinned with straightened hair, they could be called white, or if that person is darker brown with more Afro hair texture, could be called black, of if they look "in between" they are called "pardo." Brazil has "color categories ."
Literally full siblings in the same family can be considered as different "races" if they have different skin colors, but they are apart of the same "culture" (Brazilian culture.)
This might sound strange, but when I did my DNA test with Ancestry, I read that you get 50% of your DNA from your mom, and 50% from your father. The thing is, the father 50% from each side, is a Random 50% of each of their DNA..this means that your father could have Indian or Native American show up on his test, and you not have a trace!! This was something I didn't know prior to taking my test!
Sorry for the typo... I meant to say that 50% from both sides, is a "random" 50%
Sorry but I think it is getting ridiculous.. This myth that keeps being refuted about African Americans having Native American in them. The light skin, long hair, shaped nose etc is all from the European slave masters or Black / White relationships..
I here what you're saying, but that's not at all where I was going with my comment.
Sorry to have come off as rude.. I just find it cringeworthy that 99% of African Americans claim to have Native American in them. It is impossible. We know that nearly the whole Indian population was wiped out by the early European settlers. So how can all the slaves have slept / reproduced or be related to Native Americans? I think more than 95% of them have European DNA than Native Indian DNA.
And on a lighter note. I think you are a really pretty and gorgeous young woman ;-)
Plenty of them do have Native American in them. Just because not many have taken a dna test, or at least posted many doesn't mean they don't exist. There are literally a few thousand here in NC and Va. My parents met at Pow Wow, but never married. She later went on to marry an African American man from which my 4 siblings(one deceased brother) were born. A big part of the problem is that many of those who belong to our tribes consider themselves Native American, and refuse to take dna tests as ALL tribal groups across the USA have. Some of them are as much Black as they are Native.
You just took a dna test, turns out you're 100% percent a hair model. Gorgeous locks, sis!
Shes adorable reminds me of a young Mariah carey.
Same
She doesn't look like Mariah at all other then the hair. She looks more like a slightly more "ethnic" version of Keri Russell from the 90s
I want that hair.
Ha I am going to buy that hair. LOL
Sheila Hammons .. yes, pretty!
I want that hair too!
I got the same as her's
I have the same hair as her, except mine is shorter - but it's growing!
It really pisses me off to see all the people in the comments telling her what they think she should identify with. As soon as the video started, I immediately assumed that she was a biracial black woman. To my shock, she has much more European DNA than I expected, but that still hasn't changed how I view her. She was raised by her father, who is a black man. She is mostly familiar with the black side of her family. Thus, she has been raised her entire life as a black woman. SHE HAS EVERY RIGHT TO IDENTIFY AS A BLACK WOMAN. And I, as a person who's DNA is 100% Sub-Saharan Africa (mostly Southeastern Bantu) is more accepting of her than some of the people here who have less than 70% African DNA. What is up with that? Let this woman be.
CzarJuliusIII lmfaooooooooo well then I guess I can identify with being a white woman with my 23% European blood 😂😂😂
Feonalilly do you sis. If you feel like you're white, then go for it. Although I can't promise that Becky and them will see you as such. If Shaun King (a quadroon) can be one of the most popular BLM activists without anyone questioning it, then this lady has the right to identify with whoever raised her. Thus, she has the right to claim and embrace her blackness without the percentage police budging in on her.
+Czar JuliusIII Agreed. Throughout the entire forum, so many people seem to be forgetting that Black Americans are a culture, not a skin color. There are numerous figures in Black American history who were either biracial or had a biracial parent, and they were no less black in culture or heritage. This woman said she is mixed race, she is white and she is black. She has a Black American father. No one can give any logical reason why she should not be able to acknowledge and love the black aspect of her heritage. She didn't say she was brown skinned or dark skinned, she said she was black. Not only black, but black nonetheless.
Like I said, she's a biracial black woman.
this doesn't make sense lol
her father is mixed race therefore she is majority European. she IS a woman of European decent lets not deny that 70%+ lineage
being brought up in a predominantly black neighbourhood and family does not make you black. Stop it. Stop this nonsense claiming everyone with 20%, 15%, 5% african ancestry as solely black. wtf
she and i are not the same.
I was so excited with you. You are a smart lady for figuring it out.. Many folks grew up saying Native American and we are finding out otherwise.
Right that’s what I’m saying!!!! That was very wise of her to figure out! Even though black people still gon clam that “Indian” (properly known as Native American) till they die😭😭
I love how honest you are about your family and how you feel , thank you . I’m currently waiting for my dna results from 23&me .
People have to remember that a person's heritage isn't only determined by percentages in the blood, but also the experiences of their families. She may be more white than black genetically, but that doesn't mean that the experiences of her black ancestors don't count, or that she has to deny having African roots at all. Shouldn't we be encouraging people to honor their heritage in all of its facets???
Virginia's Spoken Word Poetry didn’t hear that from her. She embraced both sides of here heritage.
Yes ma'am!
Virginia's SWP LOL! If people look white, claim to be white, I accept that. Why is it so difficult to accept that white people can have black ancestors and still be white people? I am black and have white ancestry from all four of my grand parents. Yet I am a black woman and pleased with my pigmentation. The experiences of my white ancestry is totally unimportant to me. These people were great grand parents who were dead when I was born. Accepting or denying roots is up to the person in question. You want to hear about the rape of two of my great grandmothers? I would prefer to deny the existence of the men who raped them. But it's to late and it doesn't matter any more.
It has been studied and stated that due to Sicilians and Africans inter- marrying in distant times, Sicilians / Italians have 10 per cent of African dna.
Look i agree she should be able to acknowledge she has african ties but she does not get to say she is half black and white she is 70 percent white not close to being black. But she can say to ignorant blacks that she is not racist for being white cause she is a product of slavery as well and not from masa's side but the slave side.
No one here has the right to tell her she isn’t black enough. To her prior knowledge, she is half black and half white. she embraced both obviously. just because this test told her she’s only 25% black that doesn’t mean she isn’t black enough. She’s still who she is.
Aya Hall I was going to say that exactly. Howww damn rude. She was raised that way. Like she'd know any different...how could she? That's WHY she got the test right? And they're all hating on her repeating literally just what she grew up being told. 🙄 ignorance
Aya Hall black enough for what?
she’s white. period. as soon as she has more white than black in her she is white. Not black but bi-racial and white. yall uneducated asf ew
oké Theres dark skinned people with more white than black dna so... are they white? No. I'm so tired of everyone else telling us what to be. Let mixed people be both and mind your business.
yippehanako lmao ‘scuse me?? i’m literally stating facts and u out here acting like this is coming from me myself. get educated please. also being black is in your dna so “darskskinned people” have nothing to do with it. There’s arabs with very dark skin but ate they black?? no, they’re arab.

To address a couple of the comments that I see below: If you guys were to take a blue crayon and a yellow crayon and mix them together, what color would be produced? Green, right? If you saw that color on a piece of paper, and someone asked you what color it was, you wouldn't say, "oh, that's the color blue" or "that's the color yellow." Because you would clearly see the color green.
To me, you're not black, You are mixed with black, but that does not mean you are black. You are mixed and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. If you feel like you want to identify and let people know your a black women, no one is going to stop you, that's your choice. Though "race" (created by the white man) was suppose to be a classification based on physical traits, genetics, ancestry, etc... by the 17th century, people used race to classify others solely based on physical traits/phenotype, and that is how we are classified by race today.
Some people may argue, "Well, don't Black Americans have like 20% White in them, why are they still identified as black? Because race is classified based on phenotype, and we all know what 'black' looks like in the U.S. I do agree with the fact that it is MORE than just skin color, because not everyone identifies as 'black' even though they have 'black skin.' I think being black in America can also mean that you have ancestors who were slaves here, as well.
Anyways, for example, I come from a 1st gen family and was born to immigrants, and many in my family did not identified with black, and many people who I know who were born and live in Africa, do not identify as black because "race" is a system that was only created in the U.S. They identified with being Nigerian, Ghanaian, Ethiopian-American, etc. It's when you come to the U.S., is when this 'race' classification is applied, so for a large part of my life living here that's how I was identified (black). The whole race classification system is confusing because it was literally created by man. Because if you think about it, in the 1920's/30's, there were bi-racial people back then who would pass as white, and there would be some who would try to pass as white by straightening their hair, etc. and it sometimes worked.
All I know is that in the general sense, the definition of race TODAY is based on phenotype. I mean, if you guys think about it, it's a prejudiced system. We are literally judging someone based on how they look. Thing is, everyone does it. But I think Black Americans today though, are the only ones who basically let everyone be 'black' though, because you don't really see other races doing this. By this I mean, you could be 1/8 black, not even look it, and the black community here will still accept you. I'm not saying this is like a huge huge problem, all I'm saying is that doing this creates a superiority/inferiority complex in the black community (which already exists), and it really messes up the media image of what black beauty is, because if you look at the image today, it's mostly mixed or racially ambiguous women who are being portrayed as a black woman, when most black women today, generally do not look like that. Then you got all these little black girls growing up not seeing their appearance being portrayed in the media, etc. and it's like they grow up feeling ugly, not pretty enough, or whatever, etc. I don't want to get deep into this, because I've already said so much already.
Anyways, glad you got your results. But in my opinion, If I were to classify you based on race today, I would identify you as a white women before knowing your lineage. If I knew your lineage/background (which I know now), then I would classify you as bi-racial/mixed. But hey, that's just my opinion (my opinion does not mean anything and should not mean anything to you).
Jalisa
I can't believe I read the whole thing... 🤓. Good points. I agree.
+Jalisa It's always funny to me when people use paint and crayon color references to describe human racial classifications. The funny thing about paint colors is that if you combine all paint colors together, you get the color "black." But I digress.
First, "race" and "racial classification" was not created only in the US. In fact, it was created in Latin America before it was in the United States, because it was the Portuguese and Spanish who created the transatlantic slave trade. The British joined in later. Only about 5% of enslaved Africans went to the United States, the majority went to Brazil, the Caribbean and other South American countries.
The word "Negro" as we were called way back when in the United States, was the Spanish word for black, which is still common to hear in Latin American countries when describing black people. The word "negro" is an official racial classifications in most Latin American countries today.
Basically, in all of the Americas and the Caribbean, those classifications existed. And for those who know Latin American history, a form of the "one drop rule" unofficially existed in many Latin American nations also, except with a reverse concept known as "whitening."
Countries like Brazil, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, etc actively encouraged blanquemiento/branquemiento (whitening) to "improve the race" (mejorar la raza) by breeding out the blackness. That idea was basically like tthe one drop rule in reverse, that to mix with white made you close to white, which was the ideal and completely non-black. Over time, the idea was to completely phase out the black populations from those countries.
It's one of the reasons why to this day in many Latin American countries, many people, even darker skinned people, downplay African heritage and constantly emphasize mixture over black identity. It's because their historic culture taught them "mixture" was superior to blackness, because it was closer to white. There are still a considerable number of Latin families who encourage their children not to marry or have children with darker skinned members of their own cultures.
Look at the official census of Puerto Rico. For all the talk of being mixed, officially 75% of Puerto Ricans on the island racially self identify as "white," despite having a mixed race category on their census. In Cuba, 64.1% self identified as white, again despite multiracial heritage. Brazil, 47% self identify as "white" despite being the most mixed race country in the world.
And people want to call the one drop rule detrimental? At least that rule, despite its origin, gave black Americans of multiple skin colors an ethnic identity to unify around. Go to any Latin American country, and in every single one of them, you rarely see black people in any well paying jobs, they have very little social mobility and commonly live in slums and are routinely subject to military police harassment.
And two people in the same family can have different "racial classifications.' Literally, two siblings with different skin colors are can be considered two different races and treated completely differently in society, despite being apart of the same national culture.
Compared to that, I'll stick with the one drop rule, thanks.
Where does this idea that the concept of race was invented by a white man during the trans-atlantic period, come from, if not from modern ignorance? Why don't you start with its etymological origins?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_race_concepts
+Taqiyya is dark and full of taharrush "Race" in humans in the concept of "skin color-based race" (i.e BLACK people, WHITE people, etc) did originate with white people during the transatlantic slave trade. Prior to that, human beings were not classified into "races" by skin color, but by national, cultural or ethnic origin.
Do you honesty think and believe people on the African continent were calling themselves "black people" and referring to themselves as the "black race" before they encountered "white people?" There was literally no concept of the "white race" or the "black race" prior to the slave trade. Everyone in the ancient world was referred to by the land they came from, the ethnic groups they came from, and the cultures they came from.
Before talking about modern ignorance, why don't you read some scientific journals and actual history books as opposed to a Wikipedia page?
Taqiyya..., Race and racism originated with capitalism and the slave trade....
What ever combo.. you are so gorgeous!
I would have just thought u were white with curly hair
25 percent isn’t much compre to her European. She clearly has wayyy more European

Reina Guzman she looks mixed, but her 25 percent of African is not a lot, it’s just surprising she has low African considering how she looks. I’ve seen people who have 20 percent African and the rest white, and you wouldn’t even tell they had some African in them, or mix. To me she looks half and half.
@@reinaguzman9030
She'd be 50/50 if she's mixed. Instead 75% white, 25% black.
@@suzannenoel3078 but quarter one race and three quarters another is usually considered mixed by most. 50/50 is mixed too but also it holds the exclusive claim of biracial, but 75/25 is still a mix
Please know that Lighter skin has nothing to do with how much blackness a Black person. Don't go around and have that kind of mindset about Blacks. But I definitely agree with you on how a lot of Black Americans believe they have "Indian" in them, which the proper term is Native American. Indian is people from India(I'm half so I always correct people lmaoo). Can't call native Americans Indian cause thats what their oppressors thought they were when they "found" The Americas. But anyway def agree a lot of Blacks will say Native American but its not true, theres research on that most of them have European in them.
and you're so gorgeousss !!!
Bethany Morrison she's white most of her genes is Caucasian and she needs to stop leaning on the measly 25% which is nothing.
I was about to say the same thing. Light skin for black people does not mean mixed. My cousins and nephew are almost as light as her and they are 100% Nigerian. To be black does not mean that you are homogenous, all black people- not even in Africa- look the same.
+Nono Osuji exactly because I have fair skinned relatives whose test came back 78% African. Skin color has to do with what dominate genes you carry.
Bethany Morrison
You are so right.

I could tell you had so much Italian in you watching you talk with your hands. . .seems your results confirmed what you felt and that is a good thing.
Thank you for embracing all your heritage. I took mine a lot matches my thoughts, however my Cherokee Indian did not come up, because they don't test their DNA to help match us. So proud of you. I can't wait to see my sister's results soon! Wish us luck.
you look like a young Mariah Carey anyone ever tell you that?
jo ni Basically. Mariah is the same. more white than black.
She reminds me of Mariah Carey too.
That is right, I see a young Mariah Nunez Carey through this girl, when I look at her.
You look a lot like my grand daughter!! Congratulations on your findings. I'm impressed that you took the time to research your ancestry.
Gorgeous girl! Lovely skin, beautiful eyes, and that hair! Thanks for sharing something so personal with us. No matter what anyone says, you represent both sides beautifully and are proof that love knows no color.
Thank you Delia! I encourage you to check out my vlogs as well I think you may like them

most mixed women have this look. Jornee Smollet is another one. They look Black and White at the same time, but a little more White, in my opinion.

She barely even looks part black at all. If she doesn't say it you might not guess it
Hey, she looks like Mariah lol
Midnight yeah, white lol
Hey, Lena Horne was the same shade LOL

I am Brazilian and my results have shown that I am 14% African. I have 5.2 from Nigeria and 8.8 from North Africa: Morocco, Algeria, Lybia and Egypt and I am very happy about it! Although I do not look black descendent I fortunately always knew how to respect all ethnicities! Her results are very interesting with the Irish (I also got some Irish (27%) and could never ever imagine this side of my ancestros).
Madhukirtan Because people do not just understand that in North Africa they are Berbers, and Berbers are white.
everybody with Black dna has a bit of Nigerian
“I was so scared that I wasn’t going to be black” you are so funny 😂😂😂😂😂 either way you’re still beautiful and I enjoyed watching your video ☺️❤️
Mamamia stop trolling meanie
She could only claim black in America because of the white supremacist "one-drop rule" that we Americans love so much. In any other country people would look at her like shes crazy if she said she was black 😂🤣. I identify as black here in the states but when I travel I identify as a biracial American of African and European ancestry. Who knows maybe the one drop rule will spread around the world and I'll have to identify when I travel abroad as black in the future lol. Oddly enough I know alot of black Americans that would be happy if that actually happens for some strange reason.
Youre super awesome for saying that...peace on !
Thats kind to say, need more people who are kind in this crazy world..rock on!
@Crusher Corps how she is 74% European

So your dad is nearly half European
Opopanax not necessarily.. it depends really how much you take from one parent
I love that they can do this .....I had my first one done through Ancestry.com but it only tested at that time DNA from the Maternal side ! I was disappointed but still learned from it as well as searched on Ancestry for relatives. Then they came out with the ability to test from both the maternal and paternal sides .I think this might have been two yrs between my 2 tests . It has opened up even more facts to research and is quite fascinating!! I wonder if her test was both.
75% this 25% that 100% FREAKING GORGEOUS !!
you can tell that she wants more African/black ancestry.
And i bet you are black
Miss Frog get over yourself
Which makes it confusing for me because I thought that white people hated black people
that's not true, most white people don't mind black people
Damona Squire it's more of the older generation who tend to dislike black people because of how they were raised
Please say native American, Indian is a whole different race of people which has nothing to do with the first settlers of the Americas, at least say Amerindian if you are referring to native people of America.
Yes, thank you!
👏👏👏👏👏👏 thank you from a Native American
also thanx from a N8TIVE
My step-father, brother, and two sisters are all native. I grew up with my step dad calling himself an indian, and my mother calling him an indian, and him and his other native friends referring to each other as indians. The day i called someone an indian i just about got knocked out, i assumed any name the natives i knew used to refer to themselves must have been correct and appropriate. To this day my family still refer to themselves that way but i now differentiate between native and actual indian. Still don't know why they choose to use that term to identify themselves, but i learned in a hurry it wasn't ok to say.
Growing up i dont even think i knew i was white, i ran around bare foot with a bow and arrow and a mini chiefs headdress, went to pow wows and remember watching fish get smoked on racks and native women chanting and smudging herbs. I think i just about died of shock the day someone saw me dressed that way and called me "racist" i was just a kid who dressed as pocahontas every halloween and idolized the beautiful native women. It hurt me a lot to realize the older i got the more i was no longer a cute little kid, and so got pushed away from the culture that gave me solace. My only positive childhood memories were of native culture so to become shunned as i got older for not really being native hurt my feelings. I cant even go to see my friend on the reserve without someone trying to beat me up because i'm white. It can definitely be confusing being a part of a family whose skin is not your own.
countys32 Native American that’s what you call Indians who are from the united states
It is so interesting how times change. My mom (born in the late 1940's) was about 50% African and 50% European based on DNA, but since both of her parents identified as black, she identified as black. Based on the DNA results of her children, my grandmother (my mother's mother, born in the late 1920's) was less than 25% black, but she grew up in the "one drop rule" era, so she would get offended if you referred to her as anything other than black.
I have watched hundreds of theses DNA videos and have never seen a pure race or ethnicity, in the end you are still you. It is all fascinating to see individuals reacting to the results. Great content.
Although a bit fair skinned, it's obvious she has African DNA
Yep, but isn't that what the test said?
Also, if you passed her in a crowded airport you would not see the African DNA
You would see enough to know she isn't white.
Dale Jones not true. I still would assume she is white. Why do black people think curly hair automatically means biracial. There are Jewish people with hair like hers. Legit no one but American blacks would consider this girl black.
You may assume she was white but it would be obvious to me that she is not.
I know a girl who is about 75% black and 25% white (she did a DNA test too) and she's even lighter than Alexis. And both of her parents look black and consider themselves black. Skin tones just jumble together differently for different people.
Just FYI - The percentages don't always work out the way you might think. In other words, siblings with the same mother and father can have varying percentages of geographic/cultural/racial heritage.
Your genetic makeup:
- 30% smart
- 30% pretty
- 30% charming
- 9% adorable
- 1% Ashkenazi Jewish

The End omg yesss
The End truth
Mariah carey is mostly european with some african roots aswell, so thats most likely why (no hate)

Barely.. I think you just feel that way because she's mixed.
I wouldn't call this ladies black in my country. She's looks mixed to me. There's nothing that shouts out she's a black women. She's 75% White when do we start calling people what they are. Jim Crow rules are long gone so let them go. You obviously have strong ties to the African American culture which is cool and fine but culture and DNA are two different things. It's ok to be mostly white and its ok to be white. God made you the way you are. Your beautiful. It's always good for people to find out there ancestry. Not hating

dan schroder nothing that looks black! her hair and her nose says nothing but black. No white women has hair like that unless she is mixed with African blood.
dan schroder in the US she’s black if she came to South Africa she would be considered coloured or mixed

Your story sounds exactly like mine im glad to see theres more people out there like me
fenderstrat5000 I feel the same way except that I am Native & European. I’ve got family members with brown skin and black hair so I really am... unless they’re black??? lol. I’ve got to get one of these tests now. 🤔
Question: If you would have lived with your mother, would you identify as white?
Most likely she would. I have mixed cousins who have been brought up in my English family, they look about as white as she does and they identify as English. Most people will identify with the ethnic identity they are raised in.
Alandra Bradshaw I doubt she would because she doesn't look white
based off of her personality , I would say she wouldn't .
bittersweettruthful What, no. It's because of the one drop rule.
Christal williams She actually looks whiter than the people on my mom's side of the family, who are Calabrese-Italian (their skin is darker, brown/black hair, dark brown/"black" eyes, etc...), so yeah, she very well could have identified as white, if she would've been raised as such, and no one would've thought anything of it.
She looks so much like Julia Stiles from save the last dance! Wowwww
nope
And sounds like Julia Stiles too
Antiyanna Hall she does if they had a child it would be her
Holy crap, you look soooo much like your grandmother! Your face shape and cheek bones are right there. Stunning lovely ladies.
Such a complicated thing to deal with as someone’s thats biracial. We all hold minority dna higher in our identities. Especially when raised a different way with that racial identity. My wife and I as well as my sisters did the ancestry dna test. She always thought she was Native American and Irish. Turns out she was mostly English and Scandinavian. My results where also different. Thought I was Swedish and Italian. Turns out I’m Irish 2/3 and my little sister is only a half sibling. She has contacted various people she’s related to one that’s a first cousin that won’t respond to efforts to reach out. All we have is her initials. We separated from my mother for a few years in foster homes before she was born. Doesn’t remember who the father could be just put my dad as her father. My dad just took her in as his own. Hopefully more people do the test and she’s able to find who her biological father is.
that a huge ass phone
wait that was a phone?
It's a tablet... or she got small ass hands.

I'm biracial too! It gets so frustrating to hear ppl talk about you like 'oh you look more like that...' or 'no, you look more this...' -_- Like I have to pick a side. Smh
Dora Emo... right, cuz you are both our all, can't just pick
there is only the human race. Putting people in categories is a false construct.
No one said you have to pick a side. You are both sides so if people see you as such then thats that
But if you're white mixed with something else white people choose a side for you just saying
Niki Bronson goes both ways. My biracial daughter has been picked on for being light skinned all her life mostly by African American women who call her White. Just wrong.
You look like a younger, prettier version of me lol. Your family description is exactly the same. I don’t need to buy my DNA test now XD
I'm glad you got results that confirmed your sense of identity, though sometimes surprising results send people on interesting journeys. It's been fun to watch some of them online.
I was truly surprised to learn from my DNA results that I'm 99.9% European. While I appear as white as my DNA ancestry suggests, both my father and brother were quite dark (black hair and dark skin), and I'm definitely my father's daughter and brother's sister. Because of the difference in skin tone yet comfortable familiarity with each other and same last name, people often mistook us as husband and wife and boyfriend and girlfriend once we were adults. (I was so white and he was so dark a photographer took it upon himself to colour me darker in a portrait that we had done for our parents' anniversary.) We always figured that our recent ancestry couldn't be all white. Well, yes, yes we could be.
BTW, I've spent my life speaking out and standing up for others. My mother's people spent thousands of years on an island being subjugated by first one invader and then another and so you could say the fight has been encoded into my genetic makeup. Then again, maybe I simply care about the human race and truly believe we are each other's keepers. Keep standing up; the world needs people who care enough to get involved.
I am sure you heard this before, but you resemble a young Mariah Carey. Love your hair!!
I was thinking it too. Just her overall appearance.
She's beautiful ...
Or Shakira
Yes! I was thinking the same thing! 1991
hell know why cuz same curly hair shes way more beautiful than ms carey you better go back and check the features
You should have encourage your father to take a DNA test
Father could have Native American DNA , but not show in her.
Yes because when females take the DNA test it only shows your maternal side somebody from your family that is a male has to take a test in order for you to get results for your paternal side
I'm not surprised ,just be proud of who u are, don't ever question who u are.
Whatever your ethnicity, you're a beautiful young lady!
That's the first DNA test I took. Without knowing the results, you look mostly European with some African in the mix.
My test resulted in a visit from Men in Black, a 6 month quarantine, live study and re-education.
Super honest and cool approach to the unique and complex admixture of DNA from various peoples and family...awesome vid
We got ours done and it turned out 10% west African, I was so happy!
Well, there might still be some Native American DNA in your familly that you didn't inherit. Many people forget that we take 50-50% from each parent, who took half from their parents. If you have a brother/sister, the two of you might have a completely different DNA map, depending what you inherited.
P.S don't mind all the people in the comments who say you're not black. It's your life you can identify as whatever/whoever you want! ^_^
Danae Slavova don't lie to that girl .. wait your right.. she can identify as whatever she likes it just doesn't make it true ...
+jellafigo22 You're correct, it doesn't make it true to YOU. It's true for HER, the person in question. Do you let people decide who you are? If so, all the power to you and everyone who decide for themselves.
Do you let Mars be what it want to be or what it is?
She is Mulato.
Mulato = White + Black
Mestizo = White + Aboriginal (American Native or Asian)
Zambo = Black + Aboriginal
Apiñonado = Mestizo + Mulato
Athelas lmfao. Maybe because it's based on facts? The test said she was 3 quarters white. If anything she'd be identifying as neither black or white.
I'm guessing you're also those people who deny science and like to let people choose whatever gender they are, despite all the science.
Deny reality all you want, doesn't make it true.

This is so fascinating and a lot of fun , I am going to get a kit because in my whole life my bloodline has been very secretive. The only thing I know for certain is that my grandmother on my moms side was Northern Irish and born and raised in Belfast. I got to know more of where my origins are because it’s killing me. I have a question about the swab part, do you brush your teeth before doing it or don’t?
I have a lot of native American relatives and a lot of Asian relatives (Korean, Chinese, and Philippine.) Having grow up with mixed races, I can usually tell whether the person is half and half different races and whether a person is one quarter and three quarter different races. One look at that face told me she had about 25% African somewhere in the mix. But considering everyone is related if we go back far enough, we should just love one another as we would any relative.
Gorgeous hair
Gorgeous girl!!! ♥
We are all 1/3 who we were, 1/3 who we are, and 1/3 who we someday will be.
Girl, you are not black. You are biracial. Stop playing.
You can't tell people what to claim. I'm biracial and was raised around my Black family only. I'm Black, I'm biracial. I'm who my ancestors are. Period
You're a beautiful human being 💯% 💕
You remind me of Mariah Carey & Zendaya 😍
Ingrid G zendayas mom is black and mariah careys mom both africans with 25% white
mariahs mum is white irish. her dad Venezuelan,.
Zandaya love her father you can't tell her she's not black, she's all about black power✊
As a Black person from the UK I am surprised that even though you are 74% European and only 24% African you still call yourself Black.. It's pretty obvious that your father was gonna be mixed and I've never seen him lol.
Jamal 91 He father is mixed genetic wise 😑 not every mixed person has to complete different parents, that's pretty ignorant of you.
The reason she probably calls herself that may have to do with whatever side of the family she is closer to. Plus there is this thing that people in society do whenever they encounter someone who is clearly not black but yet also clearly not white by default they label them as being black. Look at Stephen Curry, clearly he is not mostly black and clearly he is not mostly white.....yet what do people label him as? It's just easier for a lot of people in society.
Mel Somers - yeah, Americans have a very different way of looking at things. I knew a blonde blue eyed American girl who came over here as an exchange student who made a point to mention to everyone she met that she was 'black-biracial', and got really offended if anyone pointed out that someone with the proportions of black and white the other way around would never call themselves white-biracial. It's just a cultural difference.
don't worry about it bc they're stupid and its easier on their brains.
In the US, we have something called the 'one drop rule'--if you have one "drop" of black in you, you're black. Even if you are "light, bright, and dang near white".
somehow I've got sucked into watching a lot of these videos, and it's told me that I'm not bad at guessing a person's racial / ethnic mixture at a glance. At first glance my thoughts were "mixed girl- one white parent, one black parent, but the black parent is already on the light skinned side..." You do look a bit like Mariah Carrie
This was really interesting to me.
I'd love to do one of these kits at some point. I have a general idea of my geniology, like that I have a heck of a lot of German from Mom with a smidge of Native American, and then a fair amount of Danish and then Dutch and German from my Dad's paternal side. However, the mystery comes from Dad's mom's side. She and her sister always looked so different with Grandma being tall, dark, with dark eyes and hair while her sister was petite, fair, blonde, and blue-eyed.
We figure that the DNA there has some surprises, like maybe Grandma and her sister didn't share the same father, or that one of Grandma's parents had some unknown, non-European ancestry.
My dad often gets EXTREMELY dark in the summer and that comes from Grandma. I'm the same way, but a little lighter.
The exact same thing happened to me! I was told my entire life that my grandfather was half native and found out I am 1% Chinese, 1% Polynesian, 25% Western European, and 73% African, mostly Western instead. I figured my green eyes came from some European blood and now it seems to be confirmed.
“my heart is like actually beating”😂
Always interesting from anyone that has been asked, as this pretty young lady starts off with-What are you? Which many of our family members often get asked. In addition, she is very astute with making some prediction, as reported her DNA result (which, I personally, share with her own results, with the only difference, of "Native American" of 48% and < 1% Sub Sahara. Surprising for me. Indeed, we, as stated by her, have our own DNA tested. It's always surprising what we know or don't.
Wow ....you’re so pretty. You’re hair is absolutely beautiful and you’re all natural looking.
