- Doodhpathri : Valley of Milk - is a tourist destination and a hill station in the Indian administered union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is located in Budgam district.
The name "doodpathri" means Valley of Milk. It is said that the famous saint of Kashmir Sheikh ul Aalam Sheikh Noor din Noorani has prayed here and once when he was in search of water in the meadows, to offer prayers, he pricked the ground with his stick to search for water and milk came out. He asked the milk that you can only be used for drinking and not performing ablution. Hearing this milk at once changed its state to water and the meadow got its name Doodpathri. The water which is at present flowing through the meadows has a milky appearance from the distance and remains very cold throughout the year.

body can enjoy snow fall in doodpathy as good as i sonmarg though every destination have its diferent topography There are more than 30 off beat trurist destinations which are mesmerizing but tourist have no idea about them

Could you please suggest which place has valley view -Sonmarg or dhoodhpatri, i haven't seen Sonmarg, so what do you suggest.
Sonmarg is a valley and sonmarg is little overrated ….sonmarg look beautiful in winter …and dhoodpatri is a hills station and u can’t go there in winters …but in summer dhoodhpatri is more beautiful then Sonmarg according to me 🙂

If our kashmir will be developed in a suintable way then it will be as beautiful as Europe buut today I am seeing littering everywhere and I can't do anything other than to watch
There was a time when mot part o srinagar was covered with laks almost 70 percent of srinagar was covered with lakes and wetlands but see now the condition of srinagar now wetlands dirty water so much density of people. Dal lake was 21 km square in 1980 but today only 12

@@expertverse8974 its better to go from Srinagar ...its 45 min drive ...and u can easily do uptown from Srinagar
